twa
SOFA's usually stipulate that. They also usually stipulate that if a soldier breaks the law, they are turned over the American authorities for prosecution Yes ,and I cannot think of any country we base troops in that our service members do not have immunity. I've mentioned the SOFA with Iraq many times,it has to be done or the UN authorization(which is expiring) extended. Calling it a secret plan is a joke when it's been in the news for months
GibbsFactor
With our current course, I'm okay with this. It's either we're there or we're not. And if we are to stabilize the region, I can think of no better place to base operations out of then Babylon.

GibbsFactor
Yes. But we still won't admit it. He did admit it. Didn't Bush say the US was going to stabilize the Middle East? What do you think that means?

GibbsFactor
A puppet dictator in every palace? But it's even more then that. Look how Japan, Korea, Germany and Italy took to our presence. They became allies and a place we could all freely go. Extensions, if you will.
dcnativenerd
Can't say I buy it. It would be a wretched idea from all angles and I can't really see how it would benefit. No, I'm calling this one out.
