Arsenic
Heres an idea to cut back on the crappy "new" threads: A new user must post a set amount of replies before having to be approved for a "New Thread License". If the replies are well thought out, obviously their created threads would prove to be the same and user would be granted the ability to create new threads in return. Thoughts? Footnote: This idea started in response to the "Would you pay $300/year for ES membership" thread that was subsequently closed in the Stadium before my reply could be posted. So I'm refusing to have wasted my time writing that response by offering an idea that surfaced during said brainstorm.
PleaseBlitz
That thread was an April fools day joke. I assume this one is too.
Kosher Ham
I would have no problem, with that type of thing.
headexplode
This is similar to what they do at some "writing workshop" websites, where you get credit for reviewing others' work to buy reviews for your own. I'm not sure if it would work in this format. Plus, I like being able to ridicule those who start absurd threads, so I'm pretty happy the way things are.
