Art McDonough Posted December 19, 2007 Share Posted December 19, 2007 If we don't prioritize the offensive line this off-season, we are making a huge mistake. Even CP has been noticeably upset with the pieced together line's ability to open holes. We need quality starters and quality back-ups at every position and we don't have them now. Both Randy Thomas and Jon Jansen are brittle and break too easily. Age is beginning to creep up overall, too, and Stephon Heyer is the only young player I see with a real future here. He still having a great year despite playing on a bad team and a 2 game suspension. In response to one poster, Chad Johnson is listed at 6'1", which means he's probably like 6'0". Terrell Suggs is a great OLB in a 3-4, but he won't have a job here in a 4-3. Asante Samuel is going to cost megabucks, and we can get a better corner in Nnamdi Asomugha for less money. Jared Allen would be nice to get, but he will probably be franchised. If there's anyway we can get him it would be great. H'es only 25, and he's got a motor that never stops (compare him to Chris Long for all you guys hoping to get him in the draft). Chad Johnson's old, expensive, and crazy (look at his interview with Keyshaun Johnson from ESPN; there's something off about CJ). Vilma would not be a bad pick-up, and he's coming off a subpar season with the Jets because of their switch to a 3-4, so he'll come relatively cheap. Springs is more than likely gone after this year. Rogers is coming off of major knee surgery. Even if Rogers came back, ACL injuries typically take at least 1 1/2yrs to fully heal properly. Thats the worst injury for a CB. Look like they'll need a WLB too. Rocky has an ACL tear. The SKins need to draft young talent and develop them.
