Lombardi's_kid_brother
Could you please back this up? I don't exactly call one bad series 'being lousy'. He was the only hitter to show up last year against the Tigers. Jeter is living off his pre-2001 reputation and one home run in 2001. He was horrible in 2001. 2-17 against Seattle. 3-27 against Arizona. Somehow, he became Mr. November this year. Honestly, he earned a moniker and was given hagiographic treament by the Presindent of the United States on HBO documentary for a series in which he had a .179 OBP. He hit .233 in the 2003 ALCS. He was horrible during the collapse in 2004, hitting .200. He was far worse than A-Rod this yearm htting .176. Overall, he hits .309 with an OPS of .846 in the post-season. In the regular season, lifetime he is .317 hitter with an OPS of .850. In other words, he is slightly worse in the playoffs than he is in the regular season. Yet, he is "clutch." No one know anything. (Jeter made his reputation by being hot as a firecracker during the 1999 and 2000 playoffs. He really put up some stellar numbers those years. You know who else put up stellar numbers in 2000? Alex Rodriguez. But those games don't count because only Yankee games count in the "clutch" discussion). The_cavalierman
A-Rod was getting dogged by the NY media even though he was clearly the best player on the team so I don't blame him for wanting out.

Taylor4Life
ARod will end up on the Angels. They will pay the farm to get him. Actually, Arte Moreno supposedly told Bud Selig that the Angels aren't interested, and that to tie a third of his payroll into one player was "a bad business decision." He's probably just playing coy, because he said the same thing about Vlad. As an Angels fan, I love to see another big bat to protect Vladdie, but Arte will NOT pay the farm to get him.
