I wanted to write it down and start a thread about it. I've seen where some of the Federal Reserve points have been explained by the debunkers, but the movie definitly makes some good points. Here are the comparisons, point by point. Born on December 25: Jesus wasn't born on Dec. 25 and Christianity has never claimed that he was. Centuries after Jesus' death, Christians began CELEBRATING his death on that date, but Christianity has never claimed that as the actual date. The comparison is useless because its not true. Born of a Virgin: Best I can tell, Horus was not born of a virgin. His mom was Isis and dad was Osiris. The story can be translated in ways that make them more similar, but not enough to compare the two credibly. As far as I can tell, this comparison is not accurate. Star in the East: Astrology was to the ancient Mediterranean culture as movies and televisions are to us. Stars are prominent in almost all ancient stories. Adorned by 3 Kings: Jesus wasn't adorned by "3" and Horus wasn't adorned by "kings". The bible doesn't give the number of wise men (almost certainly astrologers) who visited, and Horus was visited by deities. This comparison is not true. Teacher at 12: That would be commonly attributed to a person destined to be a leader, but I haven't found anyone who sited an original source that Horus was a teacher at age 12. Again, even if it is true, its not distinctive. Baptized at 30: I can't find anywhere that Horus was baptized. 12 Disciples: Horus had 4 demi-Gods that followed him. There is no source material he had 12 disciples. The 12 disciples were distinctive to Jewish sensibilities given Jesus' challenge to the authority of the 12 tribes of Israel, NOT the 12 constellations. As far as I can tell, this comparison is not true. Jesus fish/age of Pisces: This is not accurate. The greek word for fish is ichthus, whose letters form the ancronym for the greek words corresponding to Jesus Christ God Son Savior. The Pisces angle is a clumsy and inaccurate reach based on some good historical evidence of astrological influence in ancient societies. In sum, the claims are bad ones. They do base a lot of their claims on some pretty amazing work being done by historians concerning the central roll of astrology in ancient cultures and how its influence can be found in the bible. Unfortunately, those findings are butchered here for some agenda I don't understand. If anyone were truly interested about this stuff, look into some of Bruce Malina's work on first century Mediterranean social sciences. Eye opening.
