Ian Scott to the Giants (Rumor) & other tidbits

He would have helped solidify the DT position before the Draft. This is the first I have heard of him.

According to a fairly reliable source -

Defensive tackle Ian Scott and inside linebacker Ike Reese will be signed this upcoming week.

Scott was an excellent run stopper for the Bears and will fit in nicely as a rotation DT for the Giants. Amazing how this guy has drawn little media attention or fan attention for that matter!

Reese should provide veteran experience as a backup linebacker.

News Anything But Giant

- Any trade talks that may have been investigated by Reese with the Bears and/or Broncos are dead at this point. The Bears are baffled over the Briggs situation. They don’t want to let him go without getting a king’s ransom in return and he refuses to even consider playing for Chicago again, but no one in the league is willing to meet their demands, let alone Reese and the Giants. On the Dre Bly front, it seems that Denver will be keeping the corner, unless Washington is willing to pay the price for him, which has been deemed too high for the Giants.

With Sam Madison getting older and slowing down, Corey Webster really struggling in his second year, and RW Mcquarters best suited for a nickel position, the question is how and when will the Giants upgrade the secondary. In addition to the cornerbacks, the Giants have questions at the safety position as well.

Ok Saunders Pass, Pass, Pass and we know what the Gmen will probably be drafting CB's or LB's.

If you read their blog the Giants have a lot of holes to fill but they do have the draft picks to try and address some of them.

The Giants are fine at the starting safety positions. Depth is needed but Wilson and Demps are just fine. Demps started playing well towards the end of the year. He was coming off a knee injury which is stated to take a year to fully recover from. It looked as if he was almost to full strength at the end of the year. Corner is definitely a concern.
