jimster
I had this argument at work the other day. This young punk said "Do you think L.T. is the greatest running back ever?" I'm like, "No friggin' way....Sweetness was the best I've seen". He was still going off on L.T. I don't see it. My wife says Barry Sanders, but only because she's a Lions girl. Walter Payton was and still is the best running back I've seen. People are saying Sammy Baugh in the pre-SB era as the overall best, but Johnny U was pretty doggone good. I agree about Payton. Some people think because Emmitt Smith broke his rushing record he should be allowed to be mentioned in the same sentence, but Emmitt was a good player on a great team. It wasn't until the end of his career that Payton had a good team around him. Before that, like Barry Sanders, he was the team. LT could be up there before he's done though. slinky
Bo Jackson... woulda, coulda shoulda. Had he stayed healthy and maybe focused on just football (or baseball) would probably also be considered.... But he is the best ever that never really was.,
