Tastes Like Chicken
The way I see it, we can win in St. Louis and probably one home game, lose the rest and earn a top 8 draft pick. -OR- We could almost win out, end up at .500 and slip down to the middle of the draft. Thus, we would lose some valuable trade/draft value and still be sitting at home in January. But at least end the season with an impressive string of victories under JC. I know that in the NFL teams will never lose on purpose. However, given my choice at this point, I'd rather go 5-11. With the #8 overall pick, the draft value would be high enough that we could trade down with a playoff team that feels that it's on the cusp and is targeting a specific player. That pick alone, according to one draft chart, is worth 1400 points. Which means that it could be swapped for the 21st pick in the 1st round, the 21st in the 2nd round, 21st in the 3rd, and 21st in the 4th (or equivalent in value for future picks, where there is a 1-round value penalty for future picks). We could take any of those pics, and move around even more. Basically, we could go a long way towards filling in some holes in our defense with fresh legs/attitudes, and garnishing some depth on an aging (and thus far this season lackluster) offensive line. Our team has so many issues right now, that a blockbuster trade could give us an influx of personnel that could give us some fresh talent, some that will stick and the rest that can either progress or at least challenge the millionaires in camp. What record would you rather end up with at this point?

IChiefLikeCP26
If we can't make the playoffs, 5-11 sounds good, I still think we can squeek in at 8-8, if NFC teams just keep losing.

skinz4evr
I think half the guys on the team want to win a couple more games, so 5-11 is realistic.
phatboy41
I don't know... this is a hard thing to answer... but the winning I think would be best for pride. We need pride as a team, but then again we could bounce back with more pride if we finish with a losing record.... I don't know, I would never tell the team to let up or lose, but I do think that having a losing record would be more valuable to the team. Eparadox
Most of the time I say win as many games as you can...but we have very little depth, and very little homegrown talent. I'm hoping for a top draft pick, which we can parlay into many 2nd and 3rd rounders, with the goal of playoffs next year, and the Superbowl the year after next. Caliredskinsfan
Losing is never good and never an optionI vote for 8-8 and a team going into the offseason with some 'mo and confidence We had confidence coming into this season. Hell, I was going to book my ticket to Miami b/c of the last 5 games of the season. 3-7 never entered my mind b/c I had faith. My faith is now being tested and I love my Skins but someone needs a beating and a major wake-up call. I can't go through the rest of this decade like I did during the 90s, avoiding looking directly at the team. I know Snyder cares but Gibbs obviously wasn't in his ear whispering, "build from the draft." Gibbs got caught-up with the money and the win now mentality. It should never be a win now when you have a 5 year contract. We should have started rebuilding as soon as Gibbs was hired. Three seasons later and we're in draft hell and need a lot of help on defense.
Cooked Crack
Don't we have to trade #1's with the Broncos?
SkinsFanAnt
I'd rather us go 8-8, but I think we will go 5-11. Both are unacceptable as it is, so whats a few games or draft spots? We need to remember the season is tanked as it is. The important thing now is getting JC some experience and figuring out what changes to make next year. The way this year has turned out is unacceptable after making the playoffs last year. There are NO EXCUSES GIBBS, WILLIAMS, SAUNDERS, AND SNYDER! RedskinInExile
By the way, and I'm not entirely sure of the details, but I think if we get a top 10 draft spot, we have to swap 1st round draft positions with Denver, as part of that 3-way trade for Duckett (which only pisses me off more--why did we give up so much for a guy we never use) If anyone knows this better, please correct me. But the gist of it is, if losing doesn't really gain us much, then I'd rather finish strong, get Campbell some confidence and come out swinging in 2007. SB XLII, here we come! MABfan
As long as Campbell looks good, who cares how many games we win! Right?

Skinsfan803
I would take 5-11.... lets get a high draft pick, trade down pick up some 2nd and 3rd rouds pics and get some players on D :applause:
dcmetronix
I say 5-11 to get a top 10 pick, then trade all of our picks and our sorry ass defense for Chicago's D.
Capt'n Obvious
I want to say 8-8, but with the way the defense is playing 5-11 could be more realistic.
bryanjr2003
At this point record doesnt matter, i want to see effort and heart. There will be guys who quit and dont give it their all which means they are quitting on Gibbs Campbell and the fans and also themselves i mean even when a nobody goes outside with his family at thanksgiving and the family has a football game dont u want to play hard and win to show pride if nothing else are they so arrogant that they dont have any pride we hear Springs talk about balling all the time he is slowly getting back to himself and showing heart fighting thru injury in a dissapointing season. I have faith in Gibbs that he will do what needs to be done. We have to give him credit for drafting Campbell. We rip him when he is wrong lets give him credit for giving us a QB that has all the tools. I think during these final 6 games we will see who really wants to be a redskin and who doesnt. We all know if you piss this coaching staff off enough they will make your life as a player miserable ask Arrington.
mammy487
I said 5-11. I figure we will have a pretty high draft pick and then trade down til the end or middle of the first round. Pick up some more picks: maybe and second or third and one for next year. At that mid to late round take the best available player. O/D- Line, CB, or LB. Then with all of the other picks just shore up both lines with some TALENT! But that probibly wont happen like that. Vinny has no clue what talent is! 88Comrade2000
Doesn't Denver get our pick and we get theirs? I thought we had to swap first rounders as part of the Duckett deal.
