Trippster
Will Chris Samuels be protecting our QB's blind side now that we have a right-handed quarterback? If I'm not mistaken wasn't Jansen the most important of the two tackles with Brunell in the game? Will this change help our quarterback or not? What do you think? No_Pressure
correct, and you never know if it will have an effect on protection, with a QB who can scramble, with his blindside better protected than Brunell's was (if Samuels is as good as he is supposed to be) then Campbell will probably get sacked a lot less. BigRobP42
Campbell will probably be sacked even more than Brunell. Samuel's is playing like garbage. He has declined in his play little by little in the past few years, but this year, it's obvious he's not worth the money he demands. On a positive note, Jason Campbell is gonna be sacked more than Brunell, which will be a result of him stepping up into the pocket trying to make plays rather than running out of the pocket and throwing the ball out of bounds. True, but remember Brunell was not sacked all that much. Going to be interesting to see how good/bad O-line is.

skinsngibbs4life
regardless of who is better, I always heard that it easier to protect a righty than it is a lefty. With that said though, I think samuels is a better, and it wont matter regardless
DWARF-HOG
Having Samuels protecting his blindside will not matter if you have other ol not protecting his "frontside".:helmet: Still :notworthy to the :helmet:
Trippster
I think both guys are going to step it up and make sure Jason stays upright. He is the future of the team, not like Brunell, who's going to be gone at the end of the year.

Samuels, in my opinion, will do a great job for Jason, even though he's from Alabama.
smitty71
I think Samuels has actually played better than Jansen this year - for once.

Bingo...Brunell never stepped up in the pocket. As soon as he got the snap it was backwards or sideways. Jason Campbell will be a lot better about this. The only thing that still puzzles me is why nobody on the Redskins coaching staff watched the games and thought to say, "Hey Mark...you know you're probably not going to outrun many DE's to the sideline anymore...you should try stepping up in the pocket." box8276
Boonell never listened to the coaches, thats why he is riding the pine. You think on 3rd and 8 they said throw it to the waterboy.

NAILBOMB9
Is this thread a joke?? Next someone will make a thread asking if the center hikes it to the QB.
SFCASPER
Chris has always been a blind side blocker up until Brunell - it is more natural for him to push out and around off his right leg - that's been a problem with the protection the past 2 years. Both Chris and Jansen can go back to their natural blocking techniques.
Uno Boss
What i have noticed alot is that the Protection on the Edges wasnt that bad... If you get an outside guy to have to rush 5-7 yards all the way up field then that gives the QB a pocket to step up into... The Problem was that Mark was so short he had to drop back so far and that played right into the Defensive ends hands alond with the Blitzing Corner or LB... Now that we have someone who can step up and take off for a few yards the line will look so much better and itll seem that they are excited to block for campbell when in reality they are doing what they have been doing all along.:point2sky
