Glenn signs five-year, $20M deal with CowboysESPN.com news services

Dallas Cowboys receiver Terry Glenn signed a five-year, $20 million contract extension Monday.

Glenn's new contract, which runs through 2010 and replaces a previous contract that had one year remaining, comes just more than a week after Terrell Owens signed a three-year, $25 million deal with the Cowboys.

In the wake Owens' deal, Glenn suggested last week he might seek to have his own deal upgraded. At the same time, Glenn said his contract would not be an issue and emphasized he would not skip offseason workouts or training camp.

"We been trying to do something and have talked about it for a while. It finally came together," said Glenn's agent, Jimmy Gould. "He's excited about it. With he and T.O., it's a good deal."

Actually he's 31 and he played all 16 games last year.

His career injuries not last year buddy. Everyone knows he EXCEEDED his expectations last year. He was playing his *** off to earn that contract.Don't even bring up that we overpaid for our new recievers.ARE and Lloyd have something to prove because they have yet to have a pro bowl type of year just like Moss when he came in. Call it a gut feeling but I don't think Glenn will not make it through the whole season. He will be in TO's shadow all year maybee making him

A little sensitive about your contracts? I love how you know what I'm going to say. Terry Glenn is an excellent receiver for us and he's showing no signs of slowing down. If you pay attention to the league, it's not necessarily the age all the time it's the player. Let me take a guess. Your gut tells you that your entire receiving core will remain healthy and play lights out this year?

32.

Is Issac Bruce old? Is Marvin Harrison old? Is Keyshawn old?

They all got big contracts recently.

looks like you hit a nerve. 32 is getting old for football players.

Glenn is a good receiver, and always seems to have big games against the Skins (except for the second game last season :)). He had his second best season ever last year, and it didn't really look like he was slowing down. I think there is a good chance he stays healthy and puts up some huge numbers. We all saw how a scrub like Todd Pinkston benefitted from TO's presence...Glenn already has a relationship with Bleedsoe, and should benefit greatly from him being there. I'd say a 1200+ yard, 10+ TD season isn't out of the question. :2cents:

This all assumes that A) TO behaves and plays all season, and B) Bleedsoe stays on the field all season.

You know how hard it is for me to say someone on the Cowgirls is going to perform well?

If TO behaves and Bleedsoe stays on the field (and the Oline protects him worth half a crap), the Cowboys will compete with the Skins for 1st in the division down to the wire. I hope we have another late season matchup...it will definitely be for the division (imho).

Having an experienced 1100 yd. 7 td second receiver isn't such a bad thing. Drew getting protection is the key. I'm interested to see what we do with our first round pick.

Glenn deserves a better contract after his last season, he got a good amount of yards and touchdowns especially for the number of catches he had and times he was thrown to, which is possibly low due to how many times Bledsoe was getting sacked.

Last year was however arguably his best season overall, the best since he was a rookie in what 1996 or something? He has taken his injuries but I wouldnt count on him getting injured this season really. Sometimes these old guys that have been banged up have a certian old guy look about them like your afraid their leg will snap off (kind of how I feel when I watch Brunell drop back :( ) but Glenn looks as youthful, and last season healthy as he did early on the Patriots.

The Cowboys would be smart however to add Santonio Holmes to the rosterin the draft (if possible), maybe he can pick things up from Owens and Glenn and do well on the Cowboys, he could at least add depth...who knows.

You think they'll go quarterback? Maybe if Cutler makes it to 18?

I doubt Cutler makes it that far. I love BP but he's not about to bring in a rook IMO. Does he bring in a vet? Who knows? BP rolled the dice last year with Romo sits to pee/Henson as the back ups so he'll probably do the same. The rest of NFLE, training camp and pre-season will hopefully answer alot of questions. I'm thinking WR/OT/LB or safety is a lock for us with our first pick. Who knows? We still have quite a few holes to fill.

AC has been inconsitant probably due to injuries and changes in schemes but as a solid pass rushing DE he could add something to the D line we have been missing for a long time .

As for Glen he possibly deserves the money but this is now 45 million tied up (I have no idea how Glens extention is worked out) in two WRs who will be 32 or older come september over the next few years and I know there are get out and there is no way either will see all thier money but it does seem alot which give the impression WR will not be a priority in the crap shoot ....I meen draft.
