coldpacker
With all the great signings, did we leave any cap room (if there's any left) for a decent kicker / punter?

longtimeskinsfan
Is Tupa still on the roster, or was he cut just before free agency started? Tupa and Hall were pretty good when they were healthy.
terpfan
I doubt it. I have a feeling we will bring in some training camp competition for both guys, but we arent actively pursuing a big name at either position.

macnoke03
i hope we end up with at least one replacement for either hall/frost by the time the season rolls around. having a bad kicker and punter can mean all the difference in a close game
PleaseGoForTheWin
If Hall is healthy, he's solid. I think Frost showed some promise--remember that he was a 2nd year man--and I believe that he will be our punter next year. He just needs some more work. Coach Williams
I'm gonna go try out for punter......before a serious ankle injury I led our semi-pro league in Punting in 2003......then again.....I was the only guy that could punt a ball 30 yards:laugh: Scratch that Idea...... I believe we did cut Tupa. I would love to get a quality kicker and punter instead of Frost and Hall. Poor kicking and injuries are frustrating. fight_on_til_you_have_won
I have to talk a friend of mine into trying out for punter... I've seen him kick and he's not bad. LOL, that would be weak as hell...
Joe Sick
I'd love to finish ripping the hearts out of Cowboy fans by signing one of the major kickers left out there. We'll snag a veteran punter somewhere, for competition, maybe after June 1st.
Brianbien83
Well, with our new offense, won't we just score a touchdown everytime we get the ball? No need for a punter, just a guy that can kick 13 yard extra points and kick the ball to the 2 on kickoffs...haha

I'd laugh the whole time.
Kevin West
The best of the FA Punters, Dave Zastudil, signed with the Browns. Of those remaining, well,... not a lot out there. Rouen is ok, but has trouble putting the ball inside the 20. But remember, Punters are like gypsies: there are a ton of 'em, hiding in the woods waiting for a chance. My guess is, we keep Frost and bring in a bunch for an open competition. As far as FA Kickers go, Edinger is probably the best value. Venitieri is going to want 3 million per, and Vanderjagt got 1.8 Million last year. And that barely covered his bar tab (just kidding). With the kind of offense the Redskins should be able to put on the field, I don't think either is a priority just now. A healthy Hall should be more than servicable. They'll wait until Training Camp to address the Punter.
jayneal7
Novak and Groom. End of discussion. Both cheap, young & have long solid careers ahead! And Novak was CLUTCH!
Joe Sick
Novak and Groom. End of discussion. Both cheap, young & have long solid careers ahead! And Novak was CLUTCH! Does Groom kick off? We need a punter who puts it into the endzone on kickoffs. You can get a more accurate kicker and not really worry about leg strength. A good kicker just needs to be money out to about 45 yards. Anything more is a bonus. Also don't have to waste a roster spot for a kickoff specialist. Does Randel El kick, too?
