Sherlock Holmes
"Linebacker Andre Carter." Linebacker? mm....maybe he is going to be used as a linbacker more than a DE. Of course, we cant read much into his statement. And he confirmed that we have Randle El, Collins, Carter, and Archuleta in town.
SkinsNeverDie
Umm, thats the postion he played last year  .
Captain Chaos47
He is a LB the same way that Ware is an LB for Dallas or Terrell Suggs is for the Ravens. In reality he is a pass rusher.
sknsrbck26
He was a D.E. but he moved to LB right? Will we put him back as a D.E. or will he re-place Lavar.
Laxpunk2006
Umm, thats the postion he played last year  . But he's naturally a DE. He played as a rush linebacker in a 3-4. Much like how Terrell Suggs played OLB in the a 3-4 and moved to DE in the 4-3.
Fifty Gut
on 3rd downs, you'll see him at DE instead of Wynn, and Clemons at LB taking his place atleast, if we sign him, that's how I see it working out
Art
I've seen Carter play defensive end and linebacker and I'd really rather seem him at end for us . But, his versatility is nice. If we're looking at him to replace Lavar, that's not an upgrade for us strictly at linebacker.
NewAgeSkins
lb/de is nice... it allows the defense to use zone blitzes more often...

We just need a solid player to step in. One thats 'super smart'.

If we're looking at him to replace Lavar, that's not an upgrade for us strictly at linebacker. I'm thinking we would leave Wynn in there on rushing downs and plug Carter in on obvious passing ones. Possibly running a 3-3-5 Carter - Griffin - Daniels Washington - Marshall - Clemons Springs - Clark(Archuleta) - Taylor - Prielou - Rodgers I'd like to see another corner signed. I'd settle for the draft:)
RDSKNfaithfull
I don't get it this has happend before when I go to redskins.com the video is not there:doh: I'm sure it will be there in a few minutes for me. No_Pressure
Anyone else have the feeling its 4:00 on monday because they plan on announcing more than just Lloyd's signing?
Oldskool
Carter is smallish for a DE in Williams' system, being only about 265 lbs. However has others have pointed out, the man is adapt at playing either OLB or DE. If he signs here, I think you will see him be the starting WSLB. fdarugar
He also said Lloyd was 26...Lloyd was born in '81 which would make him 24?

Loyal2Washington
Andre Carter=Ken Harvey He will probably play WLB on first and second downs, then switch to rush end on obvious passing downs, second and long, third downs. If we have injuries at DE then he would be able to move into that position with little drop off. Nice pickup if his back is healthy. :dallasuck :gaintsuck :eaglesuck
azmodeus13
I second that - I have a feeling that maybe LM is po'd cause he wants to report like all reporters do.... and he isn't being allowed to
azmodeus13
Thank you L2W... I have been saying that... And I see the lineup like this in passing situations RDE - Carter RDT - Daniels LDT - Griffin LDE - Clemons (who did well pushing the edge when he played this position) LB - Marshall LB- Washington S - Taylor S - Archuleta CB - Rogers CB - Springs S - Prioleau/Clark
