Throwin64
According to this, these two renegotiation deals ALONE save the Skins $5 Million in cap space... Perhaps JoeG, Vinny, and Dannyboy knew what they were doing all along? Nah, not possible because Pastabelly said so! "If no movement is made between now and Sunday night at midnight, agreements struck by Redskins quarterback Mark Brunell and offensive tackle Jon Jansen will go into effect. Those new deals will save the Redskins $5 million on the 2006 salary cap." http://www.timesdispatch.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=RTD%2FMGArticle%2FRTD_BasicArticle&%09s=1045855935462&c=MGArticle&cid=1137834477098&path=!sports!redskins

NEMO
awesome. I think gibbs have these guys playing for the love of the game... Not the money. Whens the last time that could have been said around Redskins Park. Same group of players with saunders callin the shots on offense? Glory days are back. Nah, not possible because Pastabelly said so! Ya see it's not Pastabelly's fault. There is no way he could have reasoned that Character people such as those brought in by JG such as MB, etc would make such sacrafices and put the team ahead of the money because he himself has no character and he could not imagine anyone else not thinking like him! Peregrine
Well I read from the WP that Brunell's restructure saved 1.8 mill. That would mean Jansen must have saved 3.2 mill(assuming the WP was correct and they have a shaky track record).
ChiefPowhatan17
That's great now we just need to shave 15 more million. If the new CBA doesn't happen I don't expect to see any Free Agent pick ups, only us getting new talent in the draft.:logo:
MisterPinstripe
I am pretty sure we were at 17 mil over cap, not 20. So we would be at 12 million. People seem to be rounding it up from 17 to 20, but I am pretty sure it was at 17 before the restructers.
