Missed Point #1: The sites sole purpose is not to eliminate internet trash. If you had arrived here on a day other than yesterday and saw what conversation, yes, actual conversation, used to be like here, then maybe, you'd have an inkling of what's going on in this thread. I digress, in any case, this site's purpose is as I wrote earlier in the thread, and quite clearly at that, is to provide informed, intelligent, efficient and interesting content to all of it's members. We are not here to appeal to the lowest common denominator. We are here to create the best content possible. Threads like this detract from the mission and from the purpose, as stated twice now, of the site. The rules aren't lame--though they may be stringent, they are what makes this site work. Without them, there would be chaos.
