Who is the most disappointing first round draft pick in recent years?

Probably Ryan Leaf, because he was such a public and catastrophic failure.

Tim Couch was drafted #1 overall, but somehow his failure flies a bit below the radar screen. And maybe some people give him pity points for his shoulder injury, I don't know...

I'd probably say Leaf.

How's this for a horrendous stretch of #2 overall picks:

From 1989 to 1993, the following players were selected #2 overall:

1989: Tony Mandarich, Green Bay

1990: Blair Thomas, NY Jets

1991: Eric Turner, Cleveland

1992: Quentin Coryatt, Indianapolis (followed their Emtman debacle  )

1993: Rick Mirer, Seattle

:thud:

I feel that the most disappointing first round draft pick was when eli manning and philip rivers came into the league. The disappointing part to this whole thing is that eli was so hyped up that the giants gave away a very good QB in Rivers, and now Rivers is sitting behind Brees in SD. That is a disappointment in itself. To see a good QB sitting on the bench for the 2nd year in a row.:logo:
