Ghost of
 Yeah, we'd take a guy who's been given four years in a pro-system, some legit weapons to work with, and an annual vote of confidence from his front office who registered a lower rating as a starter last year than Ramsey. Hey, he was taken 1st though, that means something. ANd no responses please involving examples of QBs who defied the draft order!

Streater101
Or how Harrington was taken 3rd? Ok, ok, you got me there. For the record, I would take Pat over Joey Harrington. Thank god Danny and Vinny didn't engineer a trade that would have moved us up to take him. Or then I would have to suffer through post of how Harrington just needs to be given time more time, and how he'll goto the pro bowl, etc... Bangee7
Art has hit it...PR has more tools this year than any other. I'm shutting up now on this subject and will watch it unfold. (OK, shutting up until after week 1) !!!!!

NavyDave
This is like comparing Paris Hilton to Jenna Jameson. No paris didnt do as many porno movies but the bottom line is that they both really suck. Something that the current careers of all three QBs can say. Hopefull this is ramseys breakout year if not You'll have a discount Ramsey jersey in time for christmas to go with the Bailey and Coles, and gardner jerseys
footballhenry
Well I agree with the original post to an extent. To be quite honest though Carr had a great season last year and has proven himself MORE than Ramsey. Ramsey still has the potential to be greater, and he IS greater than Harrington. Carr has a very good chance at being a probowl QB, at the very least a franchise QB with the Texans. I hope and think we will say the same about Ramsey as a Redskin in the future. NavyDave
Carr came into the league with no oline to protect him against the Jaguars, Ravens and Steeler defenses
SilentSkin
Ummmm...I think you mean the JAGS, COLTS and TITAN's defense....
red zone
Patrick was the top QB in his draft class IMO though his competition is looking pretty weak. Harrington might be the worst of the lot.

I mean, come on. That's like a Mike Vick / Kyle Boller comparison. I mean Paris might be OK, but Jenna is far and away better at her craft...even if Paris went for a full length DVD. But I do appreciate you bringing a little joy to my day, Navy!
Henry
No, I would have taken Carr. Ramsey wouldn't even have been drafted in the 1st round of 02 if we didn't take him with the last pick in the round. Carr does what Ramsey can't do. He protects the football, he'll take a sack (76 in rookie year) before he'll force a pass and get picked off. I want Ramsey to do great this year don't get me wrong (So we can get some compensation for him). But he is not nearly as great as any of you think. I don't know if I'd take Ramsey over Carr, but I completely disagree with your reasoning here. The only time Ramsey was designated the starter from Day One was 2003. Behind terrible pass protection, Ramsey threw 14 TDs and 9 INTs in 10 games while taking 30 sacks. In fact, the knock on him that year was he'd take a sack TOO easily. So it's not that Ramsey CAN'T take the sack before making a bad throw. He's done that before. ... and Ramsey wouldn't have been a first round pick if we hadn't taken him in the first round? And your point is? Michael Vick wouldn't have been a #1 overall pick if he hadn't been picked first. That doesn't mean he didn't get picked where he got picked ...
