  1. Phillips has misread that statement, it says that Ron made the recommendation to Harris not vice versa
  2. Gonna be funny as **** when he’s garbage at that too, the final exposure
  3. More than happy to reset completely, this brings 2 big questions: - What can we get for Terry, Jon and Da'Ron? Damning indictment that they are likely the only 3 that could yield any return but would be happy to let all 3 go for a good price. - What next for Sam? If we're in a good spot in the draft to make a run at a QB the new FO love, do it. It'll sting for some especially with Sam and Terry I suspect but i'm not in the business of compassion, I just want what's best for the franchise moving forward and sometimes these tough decisions will sting initially but be beneficial for the collective in the long run.
  4. For those who want Ron and JDR fired immediately I understand, but when you calm down and really think about it going on this final misery tour is even more embarrassing for them. Personally I’d see it out now and tear everything down and I do mean everything and start again in January.
  5. Tbf it is mildly amusing watching Romo and co tug themselves into oblivion only to fold at the first sign of actual post season pressure, every single year
  6. I have no emotional attachment to any player on that defence, if we had traded Allen Payne and Curl I wouldn’t have bat an eyelid
  7. You'd think but that hasn't been the case in this franchise for some time. Say what we will about Ron, he didn't really have the option to draft Justin Herbert as Dan wanted Haskins to be given a chance. It's important this ownership doesn't make the same mistake and hire a GM / HC based on their feelings on Howell rather than their own ability to build a contending roster. I wouldn't say I'm arguing for them to move on from Sam, as you say whatever the new staff want they just have to be backed as best they can from ownership and if that's with Sam great, if not I wont be too cut up either.
  8. As iv said elsewhere on the forum, it's less about definitely being in or out on Sam, it's more about empowering any new GM / HC combination to make that decision rather than having the blinkers on and effectively only hiring staff that are willing to work with Sam only. If the new staff want to make a run at Williams or Maye, then I hope ownership back them as much as they can.
  9. They would also have the option of spending cap space on the O line. We also need to go careful giving Sam a complete free pass because of the O line, its a big part of it sure, but only a part.
  10. Looking purely at position this could be a pivotal week: Pats @ Giants Panthers @ Titans Looking at those picking higher than us the following fixtures stand out: Packers @ Giants Panthers @ Buccs Falcons @ Panthers Packers @ Panthers Falcons @ Bears Cardinals @ Bears Packers and Falcons should consolidate themselves by winning 1 or 2 more, I think the Giants have got 1 or 2 more in them and the Titans minimum 1. Cardinals with Murray back could pick up a couple. If we lose the rest of our games there's a solid chance we could be top 4.
  11. While I like a fair bit of what I've seen, 3 of Sam's 4 truly poor performances have come in games where the expectation has been at its highest. I don't necessarily want us to aggressively try and draft a QB in round 1, but what I do want is for ownership to empower any new GM / HC to make that decision rather than telling them if they sign here its Howell or nothing.
  12. I know there will be various takes on 'tanking', personally I'm of the opinion we need to lose out from here. If we are in the top 5 and a new GM / HC comes in and wants to move up a little further to get Williams / Maye, do it. Im not anti Sam I think he's good, but good aint elite and if endless amount of terrible QB over decades has proven, if you ain't got the guy, you ain't contending.
  13. This game confirmed to me two things: 1. This organisation shouldn’t be married to Sam Howell 2. Everyone, and I do mean every single player we have should be available for the right price
  14. I’d bet any money that Ron had JDR nip down the back of the stands and turn the water off the second Howell threw that pick 6. Gotta occupy the ownership somehow.
  15. No doubt it’s gonna be a huge talking point. I’m not Howell out yet, iv seen lots to like, some not to like. It’ll depend on what the new GM / HC thinks but if we’re in that top 5 we can ill afford another Young / Herbert style situation.
  16. If we’re in the realm of Maye / Williams, it has to be a conversation, it just has to be.
