  1. As a Stillers fan, I will say Tomlin will never get anywhere near 320 wins. He would have to average 10 wins per season for another 16 years, which is doubtful since he lost to two 10-loss teams in consecutive weeks at home. The problem is in Pitt is that Tomlin isn't bad enough to fire, while in the meantime a good season to him means 9 wins. He's 9-7 every year, like an inverted Jeff Fisher. And he gets out coached by a half senile Bill Belichick and made Zappe look like Tom Brady II.
  2. One has to wonder how the current 'whiny' roster would handle it if Schottenheimer were still around and was the coach. I don't buy that all the players are snowflakes by any means...I'm sure there may be some who are but I think they tune out EB not because of the yelling but because they just don't respect him.
  3. Yup... Norv Turner - offensive guru (at least when he was a 'hot OC') Terry Robinskie - interim (interim is a type of coach, yes?) Marty Schottenheimer - defensive-minded old school good ol' boy Steve Spurrier - college offensive guru (at least when he was at Florida) Joe Gibbs - franchise legend (although 2.0 wasn't as good as 1.0...) Jim Zorn - under-qualified last-minute replacement coach when fanbase rebelled against hiring Jim Fassel Mike Shanahan - Superb Owl-winning offensive guru (at least when he was HC in Denver) Jay Gruden - offensive guru/'hot OC' (at least when he was OC in Cincy) ANOTHER INTERIM COACH WHO'S NAME ELUDES ME Ron Rivera - defensive-minded old school good ol' boy (Schottenheimer 2.0?) Yes, all types of coaches have failed here. The common thread is they were all successful before coming here...
  4. It's beginning to look a lot like...EB was only successful when paired with Andy "Walrus" Reid. On his own? Not so much... Kind of like a decent guitarist leaving a rock supergroup to strike out on his own...then finds out no one likes his music on his own, so he returns to the band with his tail between his legs. Lyndsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac, I'm looking at you. And I agree that players will tune him out if he's yelling at them all the time but doesn't have his own sh!t together as far as calling a game. No one respects a hypocritical leader.
  5. I'd like to give a full endorsement to Jerruh Jones for a new head coach named Jim Zorn.
  6. It's not amazing if you've been following this team for 20+ years. Snyder's incompetence and bullying have been well-documented. The problem is that there is a certain type of 'leader' who only canoodles with people who agree with him and tell him what he wants to hear...yes-men, in other words. People who are honest with him are quickly shut out of the boss' suite and eventually get fired or leave...in this organization there are endless examples, especially Brian La Femina. Most of these leaders lack awareness of what they're doing but that doesn't excuse their behavior. Typically they are the type of bosses that are blindsided whenever scandals hit, because obviously no one was willing to keep them informed during the buildup of the scandal. Snyder's own abominable history made it necessary for him to offer full control in order to get a coach...that's the only way he could do it, but it's doubtful that he understands that...or cares! Harris seems to be the other type of leader: the one who solicits input from experts and doesn't think they know everything, and they don't demote people who tell him unpleasant news. With him in charge, things can only get better!
  7. Kind of like how Tugboat Ron claimed credit for 'finding' Sam Howell, even though he let him rot on the bench for 16 out of 17 games...and he wouldn't have even gotten into the 17th game if Heineke hadn't recommended that he start!
  8. True, although I never understood why Gibbs preferred white jerseys at home all the time. Most teams only do it due to hot weather, and even the Cryboys wear their blue jerseys at home a couple of times a year these days. White jerseys all the time is boring.
  9. One of my favorite sites, that I even helped contribute to once upon a time...you can see weird anomalies like the Skins wearing their white jerseys 42 straight times vs. the Giants from 1981-2001.
  10. All Ron has to do to deliberately lose is keep doing what he's done for 4 years...show up on the sidelines and fold his arms.
  11. I'm not so sure. The Bills are clearly underachieving and haven't gotten over the hump as predicted. Now they're behind the Colts and Broncos in the standings. I think if they really crash at the end of this year McDermott may be polishing up his LinkedIn resume. It's scary how Josh Allen has regressed into Bubby Brister territory. That happened on McDermotts watch soni doubt he'd be a good fit here either.
  12. Sometimes I think RR didn't exert more authority over JDR because he had been a former head coach too. And maybe he was worried that if the defense became too good then JDR would be a threat to replace him. You'd be amazed how many bosses unconsciously sabotage a subordinate who poses a threat to their job...without even being aware of what they're doing.
  13. Typical of the good ol boy network...people hire people they're familiar with, even if that familiarity only led to failure...Rivera is one of the worst practitioners of this principle.
  14. I'm still waiting for anonymous people in the building to start leaking negative stories about Del Taco. They disagreed about whether Star Dustups or Dustup of the Clones was the best scifi movie.
  15. If Tanya Snyder thought it was too expensive to install baby changing stations for the wives of the players, then there's no way those cheapskates would spring for a few bucks to install urinal dividers. She told wives of players they wouldn't install them because they were "getting a new stadium anyway." Let's not forget her hubby gave bags of apples to all the employees in lieu of an Xmas bonus.
  16. I've got some bad news...I spoke to all my stuffed Toucan friends and not a single one of them wants to coach here.
  17. About damn time. Tomlin has always been too stubborn to fire someone midseason, but when your RB is pointing out that the offense is too predictable then you have to do something. Tomlin is like Rivera in that he doesn't see predictability as an issue and just keeps saying "we just need to execute better." But with the talent level between NFL teams being so thin, anything you can do to gain an advantage helps. Maybe Tomlin was starting to realize if he didn't can Canada then it may cost him his job. Canada's first year as OC was Ben Roethlisbergers last year...and one of his worst. Pass plays take too long to develop...but why change your system when you just keep telling the world you have to execute better? But players can't execute better if they have no confidence in the system. Sounds like the defense under Dustup Del Rio.
  18. You know, I was kidding when I posted that above. I didn't think Rivera would actually take my suggestion to heart...
  19. They need to burn those unis. They're 1-4 in them anyway. Just remember: Tanya Snyder designed them.
  20. Bizarre that they used man coverage exclusively vs. the Bears and got torched...and then did the same thing yesterday against a guy who still lives with his parents and got torched.🤢
