  1. So Evan’s and Higgens very likely off the market. With the cap going up we will likely see a lot of these tempting WRs get signed like Michael Pittman. Someone like Boyd may be our best bet.
  2. I agree on the good coach bad situation at the moment. It’s looking like that NY staff may be on the way out in a year or two, at most. I’m taking a wait and see approach. The thing that’s working in his favor is our OL was BAD, so he has a very low bar to hurdle. A few better additions (plus play calling) and he looks good again in the NFLs eyes.
  3. I don’t think you’ve watched anything more than the live games and some clips/highlights. I’ve brought this up to you with a post of you asking for the clips which no one responded to. I also quoted that to you and got no real response on that. So yes, personally I dont think you have. I could be wrong, but that’s my personal take on it. Add to that your reluctance to answer direct questions to your takes - I think you just like a guy on your fav team. Which I also brought up in my last post to you and you somewhat acknowledged and we moved forward.
  4. Daniels had a pretty stacked team. Can’t have it both ways. That being said. This started as a - we could hope for Allen level success. They aren’t the same, most of us understand
  5. I agree completely. That’s also why I mentioned mental makeup too. Decision making/processing speed is part of that, but you can’t really know that until they play, specifically in the NFL because that’s a different beast. The dual threat thing is why I personally think Daniels has a higher chance to be successful his first season, akin to RG3. Not counting any of these players mental, work ethic, future coaching/playcalling/, players, organization around them. Those things are also paramount for a QB to be successful. It’s not a guarantee of course, but neither is a “generational” pick at QB. Now, what happens after the first season is anyone’s guess, but from my understanding that’s where people use floors and ceilings to basically guess.
  6. So wait, you’re telling me I can’t watch a few highlights, read some tweets, tell everyone else they’re wrong, while saying x or y player is the best choice? Especially without knowing the most important aspect of the players makeup (mental and work ethic)…nah, you’re just wrong, I know the rattler is S+ tier.
  7. I’m no expert either, but I think you’re mistaken on what he means by fitting it into a tight window. Next Gen Stats defines a "tight-window throw" as a throw where the intended receiver had less than a yard of separation from the defender from nfl.com. Some of Daniel’s throws that we are able to watch are to receivers that have more than that on a regular basis. It’s not necessarily his fault, but it does raise the question. Similarly, he doesn’t throw his receivers open - he waits for them to be open. also some would say fitting it into a tight window is something like this:
  8. Thank you! I am familiar since I spend too much time on that site. I was speaking on the grader in question. Disregard, I see it now! Thanks again
  9. Thank you! I wasn’t trying to discredit him, just having fun with it. Although it’s great to see what some way more qualified than me think, however, it doesn’t move the needle for me. I prefer a good write up versus someone just applying a grade. At the end of the day we all know the QB position is damn near impossible to identify a hit so we’re all just throwing **** at the wall and hoping sticks.
  10. Hey now, he changed his grading scale when he realized it was awful. Now it should align more until he realizes his grades were bad three years from now.
  11. Just to touch on the burrow thing - that is probably not the best thing to hang your hat on. That’s like saying, well Tom Brady was selected in the 6th round, so therefore all QBs in the 6th round will be the goat. The one year of success is a good starting point to evaluate though. What did he do differently to get to that point. What about his game improved and why. @ThatNFLChickhas cited sources saying he basically upped his study habits and work ethics. That’s big time for a QB to me. I think the mental aspect can beat out the physical in most cases.
  12. Eh, sort of. I went with Allen because he sometimes makes those sexy rexy type throws as well, but has mobility and off platform abilities and takes the check down as well. These are more comparable to Maye. Grossman was more of a statue as well. If you’re going purely off just chucking it and hoping for the best, then that comparison can be made to most qbs That’s fair. I considered bringing that up especially after I mentioned Daniels experience as a pro. However, it was hard for me to quantify that versus Daniels actually having more experience. It definitely plays a factor though! something like/ Daniels Con - age / may be at his ceiling maye pro - age/ potential room to grow
  13. Let’s see if I got this right from both sides of Maye and Daniels. Please correct me if I miss or got something wrong. From what I’ve seen and read or “researched” as some poster put it, disregarding things out of their control like team makeup and level of competition faced Jayden Daniels: Pros -Prototypical Height -Experience -Work ethic -Passing efficiency -Mobility/athletic ability -Ability to read defenses (from what I gather) and exploit man coverage in passing or running -Consistent footwork Cons -Lacks off-platform throwing ability (at least doesn’t do it) -Lacks anticipation -Only one year of proven success. I think prior to 2023 he never threw more than 20 TDs -Weight, as has been beaten to death -Often stares down his first read -Arm strength (although this one for me isn’t as big of a deal from what I’ve seen) -Oftentimes takes off and runs if first read isn’t open -Protecting himself when running. However, it has been pointed out that he got better at that as the season went on. -Uncomfortable throwing in the middle of the field. When I made my comparison it was Hurts especially his first season in the NFL, which I still stand by. I remember him having issues with staring down his first read or taking off and running if his first read wasn’t open. Hurts would oftentimes escape from the pocket and take off and run when he didn’t need to. The biggest difference for me is Daniels is more accurate than Hurts was at that time. Drake Maye: Pros -Prototypical size -Arm -Off-platform throwing ability -Mobility/athletic ability -Makes pre-snap adjustments/protections -Good anticipation -Shows ability to make progressions in passing -Ability to make accurate throws at all three levels of the field. Cons -Decision making/forcing it. For instance, at times makes some head scratching throws instead throwing it away. -Holds the ball a little too long at times -At times takes too long to get off a read and onto the next -Inconsistent footwork -Post snap defense reading. I left accuracy off for Maye because I’ve seen this argued both ways. That being said, he did fit it into tight windows, which is something Daniels hasn’t shown consistently if at all. I don’t really have a good comp for Maye. Early on I said Trevor Lawerence and I’ve seen others say Josh Allen. Maybe something between the two is more likely.
  14. We’re in a great position with the cap and team reset. Kind of off topic(ish) I think and very early, but I hope this year we bring in a large amount of undrafted FAs. It seems like we’re typically on the lower end of players signed here. Hoping to see a ton of competition and that the coaching staff gets lucky with a few of those players.
  15. I’ve been thinking about trading into the first myself (2+3), for someone like Brian Thomas Jr. however, I think you’re right that we’re in a good spot at #36. We’d have our pick at some players who have first round grades on them there. I’d say our #40 2nd would be the best option for a trade back. I wouldn’t want to trade back too far though, something like 5-8 spots if possible.
  16. It’s a possibility, but man what a waste it could be. I get no QB is a sure thing, but pushing it to a later round or another year is an even bigger crapshoot. I would love to have MHjr on this team. However, he’s not going to have as big of an impact as a quarterback.
  17. I know he has videos of QBs pre draft, but I’m honestly not sure if they are the same as patreon. Usually he mentions before videos that there’s more content on there Nevermind, @ThatNFLChick explained it. Sad that they cracked down on it.
  18. Hopefully someone on here has access and can share some info on both breakdowns. I’ve always enjoyed the QB schools videos and think he does a great job explaining everything.
  19. It’s not surprising at all considering the amount of fans who were content with signing Heinicke to a long term deal and rolling him out because he had “moxie” and “just won”. Also, Howell had one full season starting in a really crappy situation at coaching and lack of talent on both sides of the ball. For those reasons I can understand why some want to give him a second chance, but when/if he fails or doesn’t show enough to be that guy, they’d be calling for a QB next season when we aren’t in a good position to draft one and there aren’t nearly as many great options to draft.
  20. The funny thing is, I actually like Daniels. I think he has the best chance to succeed, at least early on. I just don’t like the following on here. There’s maybe one of you that posts actual content worth reading.
  21. If you looked at my last posts I watched the all 22 available on YouTube. Do some research. I’m saying the way people throw stats around as if that makes any difference. There are context to stats and just using those as a “facts” as you state mean nothing. You’re obviously an LSU fanboy that i previously mentioned, that automatically invalidates anything you say to me because you can’t see through those thick blinders.
