This thread really should be dead after today.

Fandom is really interesting - we have a dumpster fire organization since 1991 and only 2 wins better than the Giants and people not only expect to beat this team but somehow finish with 8 wins or whatever. Makes me feel like I am watching a different team.

I love me some Jamison Crowder, but at the same time, I'm kind of disappointed that he's shining for us at WR where others aren't. What happened to the rest of our depth? Was Crowder always this good and teams just mismanaged him, or are our WRs playing noticeably bad enough that they're letting a 30 year old player the entire state of New York gave up on steal their thunder?

Crowder is a pretty good WR who is just older, been injured and played for the Jets, so I think that played a part in his career.

Terry, Jahan and Samuels are good. Neither are that elite level talent that can break a game open. After that, it’s open. I’m not necessarily a fan of Dyami, so Crowder automatically is a step above.

“but I know the smart thing is to lose games but play well while you lose and today we did that.”

I understand that sentiment, but that’s an unlikely scenario. If you lose a game, It’s likely you didn’t play well, or “show” well.

But I do agree with the overall principle- you have to resort to the extremes of the bell curve.

You have to fail pretty badly to stock and accumulate generational talent( at least it gives you a higher likelihood of doing so).

However, that’s difficult to accept, then this sport is played once a week, and fans live and die on every singular play.

I imagine if you asked most fans, today, on this message board, whether they would have preferred to win, or lose( because it might put us in a position to strengthen an build out future)- most people would say they’d prefer the win. Because of the emotional build-up of a weekly played sport.

I probably would have preferred a win too, even though I know it might affect this franchise's future. We‘re human.

Yep, and even with that, I know a high pick alone doesn’t mean success, but it could bet your more picks and more “opportunities” to land elite talent.

That’s perhaps the sensible reaction, removing emotion.

However, I’m quite certain you would have been thrilled- like all of us- with a Commander victory today over the Eagles. That’s why we do this, once a week.

Emotional high after a win is true, but I know the smart thing is to lose games but play well while you lose and today we did that.

I want that top pick because it either means you get the top QB or you trade it for 3 #1s and now you have 2 first round picks for the next three years.

Not a definitive plan for success but these wins are meaningless, the team isn’t good.
