There were also rumors we wanted to trade up for Van Ness. I think Darnell Wright was also a target for us.

There were quite a few quality players available, yet we end up with a complete donk at 16. I think they were legit shellshocked that Gonzalez was available at 16 and simply didn't do their homework on him because they didn't think he'd fall and still ended up panicking and taking Forbes because "he got a lot of picks in college."

Man I don't know what is worse with this team: the coaches or the FO.

The front office is definitely worse.

Jack’s best defensive efforts have come against bad teams and QBs.

But hats off to you if you predicted the defense would be this bad in 2023.  Even knowing that the high overall defensive ranking from last year was flimsy, I never expected what we got this season.  I’ve said this too many times in my fandom, but this looks like the worst defense I’ve ever witnessed.  We’ve seen plenty of bad defenses in the past, but they generally had little resources allocated to them and bad coordinators to boot.  This defense has a bazillion dollars locked up on two tackles, it had two high draft picks on each end, and numerous other draft resources allotted to it.  It’s still unbelievable to me just how god awful the defense has been and I’ve never been a believer in Jack.

Sadly many people were saying that even back in 2020 when we made the playoffs at 7 games, that we played weak teams and bad QBs.

  3. I say this as a fan of Howell and knowing full well that our offensive line is not that good, and our WRs aren’t helping but many of Sam’s mistakes whether it’s sacks or INTs are his to own.

When talking about time to throw, people make it seem like it’s a large time gap between Sam and the best offensive lines. It’s probably more like this QB gets 2.9 seconds to throw while Sam only gets 2.5 seconds to throw (just throwing out random numbers).

Yes it’s less but it’s not like Sam is only getting 2.5 while everyone else is getting 10 seconds to stand back there. He has to see the coverage, make adjustments pre-snap and then hit the hot man if time is running out.

I’m okay with running it back with him next year, he’s shown enough flashes but next year he would have to take a leap.

  4. Micah Parsons, no excuses, just makes plays. 13 sacks his first two years, and already 11 this year. One of the best players in the league not just on his team, so you know he’s being doubled and tripled team. No excuses, just makes plays. Meanwhile, Montez and Young couldn’t muster even 10 sacks and were still waiting on Jamin’s potential.
