Belichick and Carrol (someone floated his name a few pages ago) are fossils. Fossils aren't the people I'd want to organize a rebuild that can take several years. They could very well retire before they achieve something more than a warm and fuzzy short playoff run and leaving us in the hands of a Todd Bowles coach who is holding the bag when the players move on.

If he had accepted, it would mean that he didn't make his final decision while people courting him at an agreed time are in the middle of their flight to get there. Nobody is criticizing his dealings with Seattle because he didn't cancel them in the middle of their flight. Literally all he had to do was tell them before the flight, or have the courtesy to not cancel their appointment and pretend to listen to their pitch, THEN turn it down. Of course he doesn't have to. There's a lot of etiquette and courtesy that we don't have to do. But it does leave an impression of how he communicates his decisions.

His playing experience ended 15 years ago. The only reason to pursue Griese specifically is if we're desperate to find coaches that Kyle Shanahan may have once shaken hands with. There are coaches who played more recently and have better coaching experience to pick from.

I'd like to have a head coach whose resume is longer than 2 years of coaching quarterbacks.

Okay, if Loudon Fletcher isn't an option, let's get someone who DOES have coaching experience. Where's our man Phillip Daniels?

I have no real thoughts about Weaver or Glenn, except that it disturbs me that I use to control them in Madden and it bothers me that my Madden players could end up coaching the team. Aaron Glenn always felt too slow for me as a CB.

Indecision is a decision, and it's often the worst one. Not to sound too bitter, but shutting down while the team is mid-flight to talk to him reminds me of Josh McDaniels. I doubt many more teams will wait late into the post-season to talk to him in the future if he gets that far through the playoffs again.

We're going to take a page from the Patriots playbook and hire Loudon Flecther to be our head coach.

I think I'd be more okay with Dan Quinn if he wore his hat straight. I know it's stupid to be annoyed by it, but seeing a 50-something dude with a white beard wearing a baseball cap backwards grinds my gears.

Elite traits are what people roughly call "the ability to carry the team". The Josh Allens, Lamars, Mahomes, Burrows, and ARod in his prime are examples of QBs who can literally do the job themselves with off-play creativity. Brady somehow managed to do it just by willing the team onward without appearing to be very mobile when plays broke down. Goff has never struck me as that type, and neither has Tua. Once the pocket collapses, most plays are effectively over for them.

I think Purdy might not be garbage.

If there was ever a game where Goff could alter his career's trajectory, THIS has become that game. Winners find a way to claw their way back. It's hard, but he's got to earn it.

I've been off and on in my belief for Purdy, but I think there's a strong chance he's legit. Not to go too extreme, but even Brady had to lean heavily on his runningbacks and defense early in his career iirc, and that was in a league where defenses hadn't been quite so neutered. Purdy has time to grow before he's expected to carry a team himself.

DBs dropping easy picks goes in the same category as referees being the 12th man on the field.
