  1. It's an impossible task, you can do all the homework you want in the world but there are variables that cannot be defined or researched because humans change, things like 1. How will the situation they are coming into impact their development? 2. How will they respond to the life of being a high-profile professional athlete I think with Ja and Zion there was no way to know that they would respond to stardom the way they have. As far as Stroud and Bryce Young, the Texans current organization seems to be MUCH more competent than the Panthers with Snyder Jr, so while Stroud is probably straight-up better it's exacerbated by the difference in the situation. But this is why tangibles like height, weight, and speed matter so much because they are what they are. Stroud is and plays like a much bigger/stronger athlete as well.
  2. The drops have to be cleaned up but as far as separating I wonder if the schematic change has something to do with it. It's not like our guys forgot how to run routes. Perhaps NFL defenses have been adapting to KC concepts over the past few years so they are able to anticipate/get on top of the routes. The KC WR group hasn't exactly set the world on fire with Patrick Mahomes and they have some physically talented guys.
  3. So the criticism for Chase is warranted but commentary/criticism on Heinicke’s limitations are not objective/fair ? Also is Chase less awesome to root for ? If so what makes Heinicke easier to root for? They both have the W on their helmet and are local guys
  4. There were too many lay-up uncontested completions. It made me wonder if Del Rios defensive scheme is dated vs modern NFL offenses. The NFL has changed a lot since he was in Denver and just off memory it seems like we struggle against new gen offensive minds if they have adequate talent.
  5. I get this feeling as well. Rivera and Del Rio have been around for a long time and NFL offenses have changed rapidly in the past 5 years or so with the adoption of college concepts. It could have been just a bad game but I wonder if we are at a disadvantage schematically on defense. It just seems like whenever we play an offense coordinated by this new gen of offensive coaches we have a really tough time.
  6. For me it's easier to distinguish when player at a skill position is elite even amongst elite company because they still have to line up and beat people. Wrs can destroy still destroy DBs on routes without getting the ball, RBs can have spectacular runs making people miss at the LOS, falling forward through contact these things translate. I call them athletic interactions. For a QB with limited physical traits surrounded by elite talent you just don't get to see him win athletic interactions/manufacture positive plays with arm talent and/or mobility. It's just a series of good decisions + opportunities served up on a platter because of the surrounding talent. He may be a high level processor and make plays with his brain with presnap stuff but we have not seen a below average athlete succeed that way. The only top 10 -15ish QB that fits this mold drafted in the last 10 years is Kirk and he ran a 4.84.
