I can't imagine it'll be a first. Isn't it usually like a 3rd or something?

I am somewhere between "sweet mercy please let it end" and "this is such an exciting time I never want it to end" and it's a very strange feeling.

Hate is a powerful force. Sometimes even more powerful than love.
Trent probably didn't love anywhere else. But he hated Dan.
You want a guy's heart fully in it.
Now look, the evidence that JD doesn't wanna play here is speculative at best. It warrants further investigation by the FO but that's their job not ours.
But just because we can tag and extend guys doesn't mean they suddenly become super happy. If the relationship goes from mutual happiness to unhappiness, options and tags only treat the symptoms, and may make the underlying issue worse (like if they feel held hostage).
It's part of due diligence from the front office to think ahead. This pick SHOULD be leading us for a decade plus. Anything that might stand in the way of that needs to be evaluated and weighed in.
My 2 cents, worth nothing, is that Jayden is honestly just kinda a **** public speaker. He's quiet and reserved. When he tries to do tiktoks he's cringe. So I suspect he's perfectly happy to play anywhere, no different than any other player in NFL history (besides Eli) he just does a bad job conveying it.
And his agent is an idiot to have started this story in the first place over annoyance at TopGolf.

Lamar went 32 and was asked by teams to switch to WR. Even if Daniels doesn’t go to us, he is universally regarded as a top 3 pick in a abnormally strong QB draft. Lamar was not that as a prospect and there’s a reason for that.
Well Lamar walked (ran) so guys like Fields and Daniels could (also) run.
Jackson owned the 1st and (at the time) 3rd most rushing yards in a season for a qb spots. Fields came along and grabbed #2 in 22 pushing that 3rd to 4th.
When Jackson entered the league in 2018, dual threat QB rushing totals were:
1. Vick 1039 yards - 2006
2. Bobby Douglas 968 yards - 1972
3. Randall Cunningham 942 yards - 1990
4. Michael Vick 902 yards - 2004
5. Russell Wilson 849 yards - 2014
6. RGIII 815 yards - 2012
7. Michael Vick 777 yards - 2002
8. Cam Newton 754 yards - 2017
9. Cam Newton 741 yards - 2012
10. Cam Newton 706 yards - 2011
And 11 and 12 would have been Vick again and McNair in 97.
That is, unless you were literally Michael Vick electric or Cam Newton big you would see just a season here or there, and mind you 2 and 3 were ancient history and 6 got injured and his career collapsed after.
Now, today, the top list looks WAYYYYY different. Jackson owns 1, 4, 9, 14, 15, and 23. Fields owns 2. Kyler owns 10. Hurts has 12 and 18. Allen 16 and 17. Daniel Jones 21.
That is more than half of the top 25 QB rushing seasons happened 2018 and onwards.
And indeed, much of the changed landscape is specifically because of Jackson. Because without him the dual threat crew is led by Kyler and Hurts, who are good but also definitely NOT Jackson.
So Jackson ran so that guys like Daniels could run more.

I don't think it was any great or overly deep analysis but the general vibe I've gotten from Daniels vs. Maye is:
-if you think footwork/mechanics are reaaaaally hard to fix, you're gonna lean Daniels. If you think it's relatively "easy" you'll lean Maye
- if you are worried about injuries or longevity you lean Maye. If you don't you probably lean Daniels.
And generally speaking that seems to be where 80% of the analysis is if you sift through all the fancy words to the heart of the matter.

Anything else is just opinion from people completely uninvolved in the Commander's decision making process.
We should call the latter Fog.
Lots of fog out there, but not as much smoke.

It was an amazing season. I agree. But how do you explain his accuracy issues on simple plays this year? Look, I’m not firmly in any QB’s camp. I’m just telling you reasons why I think the FO will pick JD. I really like Maye, just wish he was more accurate. Even his scripted Pro Day had some strange misses. Hopefully he cleans that stuff up in the NFL.Footwork, which was iffy for a combination of reasons including the change in system from 22 to 23.
But footwork is one if the more fixable things and will generally improve the rest of his game as he improves there.

It's always a good feeling when you haven't posted in the thread for many hours and then Jumbo comes in taunting everyone. Feels like dodging a bullet made of pure mockery.

Not Caps specifically but this is some true HOF hater stuff.

Regardless of the fact Legwold has been attending combines for almost 40 years and doing these rankings for almost 30, and is on the HOF selection panel and the smaller seniors selection committee, and therefore has an educated opinion I'd hope we all accord at least some respect/value, I wasn't interested in the absolute rankings but rather the QB rankings relative to each other and his related comments, which is why I listed only QBs and not Harrison/Nabers/whoever.
But please do carry on. 😋
He hasn't gotten Jacoby in, he's immediately suspect.

Hey guys, you know what's a fun topic we could speculate on if we ever get bored this week?
What happens if in several years Jayden pushes for a trade to LV or refuses to do new contracts with us?

My prediction is that the agency who reps Daniels will end up dissolving and reforming/rebranding some time in the near future after they do a nice little "what did we learn" session.
Like comedy of PR errors over here, and they're all self inflicted in situations where you have no pressure to make a mistake. You're tweeting for ****s sake, you can just spend an extra minute to clean up the tweet and not hit post.
First his agent liking tweets and emojis, now this "prepared to play for" thing. Like come on use "ecstatic to bring his skills to the NFL, and wants to build a bright future with every team he has the honor of playing for." Bam. Lookit that. Easy.

I would never believe that Drake wouldn't want to play here.
Dude knows Joe Gibbs personally. We're (relatively) close to home.

I've seen a few. They are a small bunch and generally aren't affiliated with ESPN, so they don't really get their position out. That's compared to the Jayden > Williams group who I noticed has a few espn personalities so it gets on tv.
