BEREA, Ohio--Robert Griffin III thinks he made the most of his time on the field, despite playing only five games this season and wants to return to the Browns in 2017. Griffin is due a roster bonus of $750,000 in March and has a $6 million salary for next season.
“I think to not play a lot of football in two years and finish the season the way we did or the way I did personally, I feel good about it, but I am not satisfied at all," Griffin said Monday. "I am going to go into this offseason hungrier than ever ready to prove it all over again because that is what you have to do every single day. I do not think anybody has ever said I have been afraid of hard work, and it is never going to change.”
Griffin started five games for the Browns and was 87-of-147 for 866 yards (59.2 pct.) with two touchdowns and three interceptions and a 72.5 rating. Griffin was the starting quarterback in the only game the Browns won against the Chargers, but he was knocked out with a concussion.
