This is funny, poor dude and his family landing in a snow storm. LOL
Looks like a tremendous family man. Has a beautiful family. Somehow makes me like the hire even more.

Yeah, I think he’s supposed to be faster than both of them. I read 4.65
4.68 for Herbert

I would be willing to bet he’s faster than Josh Allen, who just ran for a 50-yard TD earlier today (2nd longest in playoff history for a QB).4.76 for Allen. 4.80 for Mahomes

They all have flaws. All three of them. But Williams and Maye are about as clean of prospects ON THE FIELD that you are going to find. I was not really hot on Maye until I went and watched a lot of his 2022 tape. He got a new OC for 23 and it showed. He was just much more fluid and confident in 22. I think Caleb is the better prospect by quite a lot. I think he has a chance to be a legit threat to take you to a Super Bowl every year.
You summed up exactly what I think of the two qbs here. I did not like Maye much at all from this season. But '22 was an eye opener. Williams is still better to me, but it isnt as much of a gap as I originally thought.

I want a qb that can do what Allen just did when extending the play...

I'm not saying he's plutonium, I'm sure some teams will look at him I'm just saying I'd rather bring in somebody who doesn't have the recent history of turmoil.
One team sure maybe an outlier, but two that's a pattern.
Technically : Once An Accident, Twice A Coincidence, Three Times A Pattern.

John Keim said something interesting - he talked about how he heard Magic Johnson is a huge part of the interview process for head coaches because while Josh Harris and those guys can talk about structure, Magic knows more about the locker room culture and what guys in the locker rooms actually need in a leader.
Makes some sense. Then again, as a Lakers fan, I saw what he did as executive of the Lakers and want him far away from hiring decisions.

I will be happy with either Johnson or Slowik. Dont want any of the defensive candidates...

As I recall, the speculation around here was that Scot was getting too much credit, and Bruce's ego couldn't handle it. The given reason was some kind of misbehavior, I believe.
He was fired for gross negligence for alcoholism i think. But yeah, Bruce didnt like the credit going to someone else.

Funny that "San Diego" is 1. But it's only because that they have the QB position filled for the long term. For GM, i would put WAS #1. For coach, LAC

If you want Johnson here as HC then I guess you're rooting for the Lions to lose this weekend.
I was kinda doing that anyways...

What's really sad is losing to 3 win Virginia who could not beat James Madison? Did not play Florida St. or Louisville. Only ranked teams they played NCST 21. Clemson 20 and lost those by double digits.
This is what scares me. It is part of the reason I predicted Danny Jones would be a bust. He could never beat UVA. Not once in his college career.
Maye has beaten them, but lost to one of the worst versions of a UVA team I have ever seen this year. To be fair though, he had a good game overall vs UVA, but the UNC defense couldnt stop anything.

This is why I laughed for a week at all the people who were pimping Penix after the Texas game. Not just message boards, people who are paid a lot of money for their opinion always overreact to what they have seen last. Penix was always so far behind the other 3 he was not even worth being mentioned for the Commanders pick. And I will stand on the position until proven wrong that JJ McCarthy is not an NFL franchise QB.
I'll be standing with you.

Cool however you seem to be an outlier here since that has NOT been the comp for him across the board. Just like everyone constantly mentions that the current consensus among scouts and media has been that Williams and Maye are 1 and 2, the consensus has also been that Maye is comparable to Allen or Herbert, not Burrow.
Maye might be Matt Stafford 2.0... big body, big arm. Mostly a game manager.
But he did win a super bowl, so...

Drafting a potential bust and resetting the clock. I’m not saying not to go QB at 2. I am saying I’m not sure about Maye, though.
We’ll see.
Maye has grown on me some recently. Has a great build. Im just worried about some of his mistakes. He makes egregious errors at times.

He's flashed a bit on underneath stuff, but not my focus so easily could have missed those poor reps.
I havent focused on him either. Just noticed receivers with a lot of room around him. Could be due to a zone though.
