I bet you would for a couple million dollars lol
The money is likely nearly equal. Detroit may have given him a raise, but doubt it was for more than a HC gig would pay.

Why would you think this? Because he turned the Commanders down to stay where he just coached in a NFC title game?
Some people are really good in a secondary role.

Yes. This.
You guys don't know the power of a counter offer. Well, maybe some of you do.
I'd bet that this is exactly what happened. Make no mistake, the Lions didn't want to be out there searching for Johnson's replacement. Do any of you think they'd want to be trying to fill a hole on their coaching staff? No, they gave Johnson a raise.
And thats good on them. But I would never turn down an opportunity to lead a team vs playing second fiddle.

Team has to find an offensive minded head coach. I do not want to watch a defensive coordinator ruin a rookie QB because he wants to win games 17-14 and thinks risking turnovers is a bad idea. No no no. In this era of football I wouldn’t even consider a defensive guy for head coach unless you’ve got a legendary QB.
Actually I disagree with this. An agressive defensive HC will still be agressive on offense. Its in their nature. Just needs an OC to call the right plays at the right time.

Grant's nipples are extra sensitive today.
I'm sure Ben Johnson told the Commanders brass as soon as he figured out that he wanted to stay in Detroit. Like, what's Grant saying here, that Johnson was out to waste everyone's time? What would the better look have been, to wait until the Commanders brass ARRIVED to meet with him to let them know?
Aren't they out there interviewing Aaron Glenn, too?
It would have been much better to do that in person or before they had left for Detroit. En-route is a punk move with a side of coward.

From what I am hearing from chatter is that slowik wants a QB
MacD wants EB to let Howell develop.
So take that from what you will
Then give me Slowik if true

UCF Javon Baker is still generating a lot of buzz with Mike Renner being the most recent. JMU WR Reggie Brown interests me too. He reminds me of Dontayvion Wicks current Packer and former UVA Cavalier.
Ladd's an easy riser. Renner also mentioned him. Mike thinks no WR runs as precise routes as Ladd does in this class.
Speaking of UVA receivers, what are some thoughts on Malik Washington? Late round flyer on explosive athlete?

Well that's what the interviews are for, Seattle just may convince him that's where he wants to be and we won't have a chance to even pitch him.
Or they may decide they're not a fit in which case we'll have a chance to do the same.
No matter how you slice it going first is advantageous and it's likely we were never the front runners to begin with or he would have scheduled his interview with us first.
If i had two potential jobs lined up and one was more desirable than the other I'd schedule the more desirable one first and use the other as a fallback.
That isnt necessarily true. Johnson likely didnt schedule the interviews. The Seahawks and Commanders did. Commies couldnt get there till Tuesday so scheduled for Tuesday. Seattle got there today so scheduled accordingly.

He is not a better pure athlete. Sorry. Mahomes could have went either way with NFL or MLB, has elite arm talent, deceptively strong, and very mobile. Please stop trying to comp Maye to Mahomes.
I believe Maye could have went either football or basketball. And I will always believe Basketball is an athletic sport. Baseball is just not. (I do hate baseball though)

Harris, Peters and Washington leadership have a tough call to make. I think this game was over with after the Lions made it 21-7. Too much momentum. Campbell has built something special in Detroit and Ben Johnson is the best OC in the game today, hands down. But there's the other side of the ball too, defense. Mike MacDonald has shut down most if not all of them and Baltimore's O lost the game for them today. Not Mike MacDonald and their D.
To me, it comes down to who the coordinators are. MacD or Johnson are sort of a wash. Both are great

You don't put up the numbers he did and win the heisman if you are making the wrong decisions. Why would he throw over the middle in tight windows risking getting his guys demolished by big hits when he can throw to more open guys on the perimeter.
Again, I have not heard anyone say that he can't throw over the middle into tight windows with anticipation, except for a few on this board.
The only knock I've heard on him is that he comes of his reads to quick, and like I said, I'd much rather deal with that then a guy holding onto the ball and hitching while being locked on a guy waiting for him to get open.
I havent seen anyone say he CANT. Only that he DOESNT. He is making the right read by throwing to the wide open guy. That wide open guy rarely exists in the NFL. Not demonstrating the ability (even if he can) should have teams worried about using a top 3 pick on him.

That's cool, not saying we couldn't use another back. But breaking the bank for one makes no sense. Also for the four teams in the conference championship games, KC is in the Super Bowl, they are a 1 back team, after Pacheco, the next leading rusher on the team is Mahomes. Baltimore, it's Lamar then Gus Edwards. 49ers, its McCaffrey. Detroit is Montgomery and Gibbs, the only team with two running backs in the top 20.
So the argument that you need two featured backs cause it is a two back league is irrelevant, imo.
Agreed. 1 lead back to take the majority and a change of pace back for situations

Will they do one early and then fly back to do the other? Will it be different people conducting the interviews? Seems odd that they will have 2 face to face interviews on the same day halfway across the country from each other. Probably going to hire Ben and have him fly back to dc with the guys and interview Quinn for dc/assistant hc.
That would be great!!!

Maye is not even close to caleb when it comes to improvised passing. Daniels moves better than maye in the pocket as well, he just doesn't like to throw it once he starts moving. I don't see us passing on either of them for maye.
The unc vs uva game this year soured me on maye a little. Uva sucks and made maye look mediocre.
I disagree on the UVA game. I am a Virginia fan and initially had the same thoughts as you. Rewatching that game however to see Maye and not the Hoos, I realized Maye had a good game. UVA played incredible that game and Maye still had a chance to win at the end.

I think we call Chicago to at least inquire. Remember Peters was part of the FO that traded up for Lance. Now that was more of a Kyle move I believe but still.
But I think theyll be happy with Maye. He also has elite traits and will fit Ben Johnson’s offense perfectly with his ability to attack the middle of the field.
Got to find out the cost, but I agree that Maye would be fine as well.

I think some really want someone a bit more elusive. CRod and BRob are missing that shiftiness and breakaway speed. I like both of them on the team for the record.
I want that homerun threat/receiving threat. Dont really care if that is a vet or rook.
