This still doesn’t address that his offenses play sloppy and his lack of attention to detail. Kinda reminds me of Gruden in some ways (Gruden run game specifically) where they run a lot of different concepts but don’t really excel at any of them.

Kingsbury is a shiny new toy without the shine.

What penalties did they get the most? If false starts and holding, a lot of that can be blamed on Kyler Murray not being a very well prepared quarterback and scrambling way too much. A qb who does not step up in the pocket but rather scrambles around the field, makes the job of the oline incredibly difficult and leads to holding calls.

I am certainly not defending Kliff. Just trying to understand what happened in Arizona.

I haven't formed an opinion yet on Kingsbury.  If that is what Quinn and the front office want, I will support the decision.  However, if they wanted Kingsbury, why didn't they go after him initially?  Why did it take a contract snafu with the raiders to put him in play with us?

Possibly because he had alrrady been in negotiations with LV?

You realize that Lynn was fired midseason by the Lions in his last OC stint and then Ben Johnson took the offense over and turned it around right?

Why would you discount Fleury? Doesn’t it tell you something he has gotten considered for multiple OC gigs despite spending most of his career on the defensive side of the ball. I think he could be a more experienced Slowik given the prior experience on the defensive side of the ball and the time spent in football research (many here probably don’t know Slowik worked at PFF for a bit)

I do. Im not discounting Fleury. The question was who else besides Fleury.

I read the words very carefully.  "other OC candidates to watch including TE Fleury.  Adam Peters knows them well."  We might still be in the mix for Kubiak and I get the Bevell connecction but who would be "other candidates"?

Im thinking Brian Griese, Klay Kubiak or Anthony Lynn

I just realized, now we're going to have say good things about Dan. I don't know if I can. Dan is such a revolting name. Every time I read the word "Dan", I cringe. This is going to be a lot harder than I thought.

Just use Quinn instead of Dan. Or DQ. I do love me some DQ.

Hey if he develops Maye/Daniels for four years first, I'd be okay with that.

As long as he also develops a new coach to take over when he leaves. I want a progression of coaches so the offense doesnt change every few years and ruin another QB because he is learning yet another offensive system.

I love Weavers charisma and leadership vibes. But I’m having a hard time getting over how bad the Texans were his one year as DC. I’m hoping there were some extenuating circumstances, injury bug, whatever to help explain that, then I’d be 100% on board.

See the below link. Scroll down for an analysis of the defense that year.

Why are we still talking about Dan Quinn? If they liked him so much I feel like they would have hired him already? You see how quickly Seattle hired Macdonald after meeting with him?

Its obvious that Quinn is a backup plan but still one they're not ready to go to as he hasn't been offered anything that we know of and Peters is in Mobile and doesn't seem to be mulling over a decision right now

They almost have to be looking at someone on the 49ers or Chiefs staff

I got an ego like anyone here but why are we assuming that WE define the best HC candidates in the league?

BECAUSE WE ARE THE FANS!!!!! WE KNOW MORE THAN THOSE PAID MILLIONS TO MAKE DECISIONS. DO NOT RUIN OUR VITRIOL WITH REASON!!!!!!

    LOL

The longer this goes you have to think that Vrabel and BB become options? And they could even be two of the best options that have been sitting there all along?

Think about it, is Quinn or Weaver a better head coach than Vrabel or Bellicheck? Or is the question are they better for this organization than MV or BB?

Yes. BB is nothing without Tom. MV has been nothing without Arthur Smith. Quinn is nothing without Kyle. Weaver is the only decent option left. Only becuase he is an unknown.

Who cares about Johnson that’s ancient history.

Macdonald, Quinn, Weaver and Glenn are the finalists. The braintrust will have their pow wow in the morning and make the offer.  If accepted, it leaks and Thursday or Friday we have intro presser.

I may not like the hire but the time for looking is over.  You had the interview with those 4 last 2 days, pick one. Help him ensure he can get his assistants. Then get him the players to rebuild.

If in 4-5 years he’s peaked and can’t go any further, move on.

This week is the senior bowl week. Do we someone down there?

You got your candidates, hire the one you feel is the best and get cracking on the rebuild.

Logan Paulson is down there.... not sure if he counts though
