There is no debate that our situation is vastly superior to Carolina, but we saw Dan out-kick the coverage when he brought in Rivera.

Crazy money and unreasonable power at the HC spot is an alluring draw. Tepper will be able to draw somebody he probably shouldn't have access to with that offer, whether its Ben or not. There is probably a 95% chance he out-kicks his own coverage w/ his HC search, its just a question of by how far.

Did he though?  I don't recall Rivera really being in demand when we hired him.  He certainly wasn't a "hot" candidate around the league.

Too late though, its already making the rounds on social.  It's now an indisputable fact to 99% of the people that read it.  lol

Hopefully they can land Johnson but I think the bozo in Carolina is going to break the bank for him.

Carolina is smoking ALL the crack.  I dont think there's a number high enough.  They're gonna wind up with somebody's assistant TEs coach.  Somebody will take the job, won't be anybody with real options.  Hell, might be Bieniemy's only shot to be a HC.

Happy about this move.  This is the move that I wanted to see.  A good GM candidate coming from a strong team.

I think this is a bit unfair to SM.  He was doing pretty well here, he just got axed for whatever reason, I can't remember.  But I remember he hit on a few good players in the draft and I think was turning it around decently.

"Well" is all relative, I think.  Two years isn't really much time, but the personnel moves were iffy.  The best draft pick was Scherff, but after that the best were Fuller, Ioaniddis, Smith, and Crowder.  Austin Reiter as a 7th rd pick turned into a decent player, albeit on another team.

None of the trades were worthwhile. They essentially traded the pick that turned into Tyler Lockett for picks that we turned into Arie Kuoandjio, Matt Jones, and Kyshoen Jarrett.  The only free agent that really seemed to work out was Vernon Davis.

I don't think he even has an interview unless am missing one?

We single handedly killed this man's career.  lol

But his HC prospects were slim anyway.  Half the league already interviewed him and wasn't interested.  Maybe one of these new HC gigs will get him another OC job.

But seems like his best chance to be a HC woulda been back in KC.  I mean, how much longer is Andy Reid gonna keep coaching?

Very curious about the GM hire being completed first vs. President of Football Operations.

We dont know all the info. The President of Football Ops thing making it sound like 2 openings coulda just been bad reporting and Peters effectively has that role, just with the GM title.

What if we moved down from 2 overall for a bunch of picks and used them to trade for Trey Lance?

I would like to see him play more somewhere.  Not here, just in general.  He's just barely played, college or pro.

Or that the most successful organizations in recent years, not just the steelers, have primarily been the most stable ones: Pittsburgh, New England, SF, KC (sort of). It's an old saw that's generally accurate across sports, but probably isn't nearly as accurate in a league where most players careers average out to 3-4 years, tops.

But it's a chicken or egg scenario.  Success breeds stability, not the ither way around.  These organizations aren't choosing to be stable in spite of failure through tough times.  They have no reason to not be stable.  They're smart enough to know if it ain't broke, don't fix it.  If all I do is win, why would I change.

Anyone remember the 1000 Yard Club cards that Topps used to issue in the 1980s? It really meant much more as a receiver then.

Funny stat...  As of the end of the 1983 Season, there had been only 5 quarterbacks that had thrown for 4,000 yards in a season.  Two are fairly obvious-- Joe Namath (1965) and Dan Fouts (1979, 1980, 1981).  The other three were Brian Sipe (1980), Lynn Dickey (1983), and Bill Kenney (1983).  4000 yards in 16 games was considered a monumental achievement until 1993-1994, when things started to get really crazy with the receiving numbers.

I remember when Brees passed 5000 the first time thinking that was cool.  Then he did it 4 more times.  lol

The Saints players overruling Dennis Allen and running a play anyway for Williams shows how much command he has of that locker room. Despite the 9-8 season and Carr balling out in the final third of the season, there is a chance Dennis Allen is let go

I mean, that was wild.  I dont know how you take back command of that locker room.  Whoever was in on that, heads need to roll.  But I think I'd feel bad if it were just Allen's head and none of those players.

  10. The Creator.  Amazing visuals given the budget.  Should be a message to these movies out here spending $200+ million and what's on screen doesn't look as good.  Having said that, the movie was fine.  I liked it, didn't totally love it.  Not Gareth Edwards' best, but a solid outing.

The vocal resemblance of John David Washington to his dad is uncanny at times.  There were times where, if you closed your eyes and just listened to the dialogue, you would have thought Denzel was in the movie.  The cadence was that spot-on.

Call me a white Herm Edwards.  But I can't get behind rooting for losses week to week simply to improve draft order.  You. Play. To. Win. The. Game.

I do take the long view and look at the benefits of losing AFTER a loss.  To soothe the frustration of another inept performance.

    ...After the fact...

But when I'm in front of the television watching them, I'm rooting for touchdowns and defensive stops.

That's harder to do this season than most - given that Sam Howell hasn't proven himself, our resulting glaring need at quarterback, and the prospect of top candidates there for the choosing on April 25.

But even then the draft is a crap shoot, especially at quarterback.  Tanking sucks.

I'm not gonna lie, I got into the comeback, but when the Jets were lining up to kick that FG, I was rooting for it to go right down the middle. lol
