  1. Is there any reason to keep Curtis Samuel next year? Can we get better value by spending that money to fill other holes?
  2. Its interesting that most players claim they want to be on a playoff team and get to a Super Bowl. But in reality they just want a huge payday and they don't care which team gives them the huge contract. Take Sweat for example, yes he gets paid big bucks but he is never going to win a championship playing for the Bears. Both the agent and the player just want the money from any NFL team that will give it to them. Yes, they play a violent sport and injuries can change their career outcomes so they are not guaranteed a 15-20 year career. I don't think Young will get a big contract from the 49ers so if he becomes a free agent his representative will contact all the teams to see which one is dumb enough to pay big bucks for his client. Show me the money is the rallying cry of most players these days. Its hard to get players to work as a team when they want to make big plays and get lucrative offers once they become free agents. I hope we can sign Curl to a long term contract but who knows what will happen. We also need competent offensive linemen. Maybe we can poach some veteran linemen from teams that won't make the playoffs and who are looking to trade off players they know they will not sign to larger contracts next year. I would look at the Raiders and New England rosters for example. I do not buy jerseys any more too. Will fans still wear Sweat's jerseys to games now? I doubt it. I know I would not wear a Chase Young jersey now. I need to donate my Kirk Cousins and Gus Frerotte jerseys to a thrift store.
  3. My first choice would be a young offensive coordinator from another team and if that is not possible then Jim Harbaugh. He will crack the whip and also get rid of players who don't perform at the highest level. He would need a smart General Manager to get him some good players too.
  4. I heard him today ranting and then on the next show Doc Walker went off about the same issue. I think the Coaches told Young not to freelance and he kept freelancing anyway. I would have benched him but in today's NFL evidently if you have a "star" then you cannot discipline him or bench him. Sheehan thinks they are talking behind Young's back. I think Sheehan is dead wrong. Now maybe Mayhew talked to the local press about the addition by subtraction comment and he is trying to save his job with the new owner.
  5. We don't need Belichick. We need a younger head coach. There are several young coaches who left our team and got head coaching jobs elsewhere. We need to find the next young Joe Gibbs type who is an offensive coordinator right now and wants to run his own team. We don't need a young defensive coordinator. We need an offensive mind who can develop our quarterback and call plays. I think you can interview Eric B. but we should also have at least 3 or 4 others to interview as well. We probably should have the owner pick the new General Manager and then have the General Manager set up the Head Coaching interviews. Hiring Marty Hurney and Martin Mayhew in the front office was a huge mistake. Mayhew did not help Detroit get better at all.
  6. My mind will be on watching Taylor Heinke start against the Vikings. He threw for one touchdown last week. The Commanders have worn me out with all the non-sense and the trade drama too. The owner needs to ask Ron to exit stage left and thank him for his time in Washington.
