  1. Worst game I've ever attended live. I want my money back. 40 dollars in food, beer and tickets. SMH
  2. Devastating win by the Cavs last night. I was really looking forward to the game on Sunday ...
  3. This is exactly it. A fan on facebook made fun of him so Blatche felt it was necessary to go on 106.7 and defend his ****ty play. Then he further embarrassed himself by being a self admitted finesse player. I've honestly never heard of a big man who actually wants to be considered finesse. My take on McGee is that he has small periods of awful play which causes Flip to completely destroy him in press. But McGee almost ALWAYS responds with strong games. He's gotten better at this over the years as well, he's no where near as inconsistent as he was. My guess is that with a better PF next him, he'll elevate his game even more. Blatche simply can't deal with the criticism or pressure. When the team gave him his current contract, they expected him to step up as one of the leaders. Instead he totally wilted under pressure and is having a historically ineffecient season. I can't believe I used to defend this bum.
  4. I agree ACW. Blake has had a full year of exposure to NBA training and coaching. Granted he didn't play on the court but he had a huge advantage in terms of understanding the game at the professional level over the actual rookie draft class of 2010. This particular NBA rule is complete BS.
  5. That was a monster game by McGee against a very good center. Effort was excellent. This is the type of output we can expect from games if our big men give us anything inside and solid effort on defense. On the topic of acquiring an additional first round pick next year, I wouldn't do it if the pick is outside the lottery especially in the 20-30 range. Guaranteed contract for a guy who won't get a lot of playing time. Maybe a SG/SF prospect but I'm assuming we draft a big man with our next lotto pick which gives us Lotto pick, Seraphin, Booker, McGee and most likely Blatche. Then we have Rashard Lewis who might get minutes at PF as well. I'd rather add a veteran to this group than another inconsistent rook.
  6. It's student night at VC tonight for our game against the Bucks. I'll be heading straight to Verizon Center when I get off of work later this evening so if anyone is interested in tagging along, shoot me a PM.
  7. On the topic of centers, this is what this website has to say about a Euro player in the draft: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/ian_thomsen/02/04/top.2011.draft.picks/index.html#ixzz1D86Lt89w Someone to keep an eye on. I'm going to look for his game tape online. Getting an efficient scoring big man for Wall is as important as a gritty rebounder.
  8. I agree steve. McGee and Blatche cannot co exist and Blatche should be the one to go. McGee is an above average center right now. I think people get disappointed because he can be so much better, but even at his current skill level, he could start for most teams in the league. Being paired next to a self admitted "finesse" player doesn't allow McGee to do a lot of the things he can. The only thing that intrigues me is that Marc Gasol and Nene will be available in FA. I think Kendrick Perkins is available as well. All three are better by a fair margin than McGee. Gasol and Nene are light years ahead of him in terms of skill. Do you roll the dice with McGee or do you say "**** it" and try to make a play for Gasol and Nene? Personally. I'd listen to trade offers for McGee. Is a team willing to give up an unprotected future first for Javale? If so and we know we can convince one of Gasol or Nene to play in DC, then do it.
  9. I wouldn't touch an injury prone player with our medical staff. He'd be in a permanent wheel chair by the time his rookie season is over.
  10. I don't see Irving lasting till #5. If we pick #5, then that means Cleveland, Minnesota, Sacramento and Toronto are picking ahead of us. Minnesota is the only team that doesn't need a PG. Once the draft workouts start and teams see how good of a player Irving is, they won't pass on him. Especially Cleveland or Toronto, both teams need a stud at PG. I wouldn't pick him at #5. He would be the BPA pick but I don't agree with BPA in the draft lottery if it doesn't fill a position of need. I don't mind BPA outside of the lottery though.
  11. This is what I'm afraid will happen if/when the Wizards become good. I'd rather have a small fan base of knowledgeable fans than have potentially more people watching this team, driving up the total of # of idiots who come in here posting as if they knew what they are talking about.
  12. He also just won Rookie of the Month for the EC today. He has the most double doubles for a rookie guard since Chris Paul in 2004. Why do you post in this thread?
  13. Jarvis wasn't bad before he blew his knees out. I think at some stretch in his rookie year he averaged a nice stat line of like 15 PPG etc. He was another one of the guys who fell victim to the infamous medical staff. I think they did an incorrect procedure on his knees. He never recovered. He finished his career as Arvis Hayes. I used to him so much when he played for us. He lost touch on his jump shot but Eddie Jordan would always play him at PF for some stupid ass reason. He had the best looking jumper for a guy who couldn't shoot into the ocean.
  14. These were Ernie's picks: 2003: Jarvis Hayes, Steve Blake. 2004: Devin Harris (traded for Jamison), Peter Party John Ramos 2005: Andray Blatche 2006: Oleksiy Pecherov, Vladmir Veeremenko 2007: Nick Young, Dominic McGuire 2008: Javale McGee, Bill Walker (traded for cash considerations) 2009: Traded pick #5 for Mike Miller, Randy Foye, Jermaine Taylor (traded for cash considerations) 2010: John Wall, Kevin Seraphin, Trevor Booker, Well going by the years: 2003: Hayes ended up as a bust due to injuries/med staff issues. Blake was decent and left for more money/playing time. 2004: I don't mind the Devin Harris trade. Getting Jamison helped us get to the playoffs and be a winning team. Party John had all the skills/talent but he was dumber than McGee. 2005: Blatche. Well we all hate him now but he was not bad value for pick #47. 2006: A huge stinker of a draft. Passed on a LOT of good talent like Paul Milsap and Rajon Rondo. 2007: Young has finally panned out. McGuire is on the Bobcats. 2008: McGee has been decent. He's progressed nicely and is not nearly as raw as he was when he came in the league. 2009: By far the biggest fail of Grunfeld's career. Horrible trade that was masked by Gilbert's problems and the teams eventual blow up. Most GM's would get fired for a trade as bad as #5 pick for one year rentals in Foye and Miller. 2010: I give him no credit for Wall. Too early to tell on Seraphin and Booker. My take on Ernie is just MEH. He has too many stinkers for my liking. His best teams peaked at something really average. He handled last years fiasco in the worst possible way. He sold out his star player and saved face by blaming everything on him. Things have gotten stale with his vision and it's time to bring in a new philosophy. Hire Kevin Pritchard.
  15. I'd like Kevin Pritchard. He did a good job stock piling talent in Portland. His drafting is excellent and he knows how to work with an owner who has big pockets. 400's during the game and before the game, I really don't care. Green Turtle?
  16. We play Cleveland a day after we play San Antonio. We should receive the ass kicking of our life against SA. Duncan against Blatche. I don't understand why no one on the coaching staff asks Andray to stop shooting. At 1-8 through 1.5 quarters, Flip should have told him to quit chucking and focus on other parts of the game. I have never seen a big man routinely finish with shooting numbers as bad as 4-17.
  17. Ernie you fat slob, I better wake up to the news of a Blatche trade. 2-14 for this ****ing loser tonight.
  18. One possession he had Jason Kidd defending him in the post. Guess who won that matchup? He is now 1-8.
  19. I honestly don't know what they can do to make the 400 levels more enjoyable. I think they are pretty fair value for the price you pay lol. Maybe perhaps lowering the prices on non student nights. I mean no one really goes to games on Monday's, Tuesday's and Thursday's. Make the upper level $15 on non student nights and $10 on student nights (the price they were for the last few years). Game so far in Dallas, everyone is playing good except Blatche who is 1-7. I hate this guy.
  20. There are good NBa games on almost every night. You don't have to subject yourself to watching bad teams to appreciate the sport.
  21. Derrick Rose also took over a much better team than Wall did. The only comparable player on the rookie Rose Bulls and rookie Wall Wizards is Nick Young, who is sort of like Ben Gordon. Just some perspective: http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1∑=1&p1=walljo01&y1=2011&p2=rosede01&y2=2009&p3=westbru01&y3=2009&p4=paulch01&y4=2006
  22. Anyone slurping over Westbrook over this game, just compare rookie Wall with rookie Westbrook. http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1∑=1&p1=walljo01&y1=2011&p2=westbru01&y2=2009 Keep in mind, Westbrook still had Durant that year. 2009 Durant is still better than any player on the 2011 Wizards.
