I don’t mind the guys sitting out the combine. The league made all these measurements mean more than the tape, so they can deal with the ratings fallout.
The problem is that not all talent has the tape. The elite are the elite but the combine is a good way for hidden gems to become unearthed. FWIW
It begs the question who are the bosses anymore? I dunno.

Those are some dang oven mitts on Penix.
Still undraftable at the top tho, I don't care if the medicals are clean.
Maybe somewhere in the middle of round 1.

I honestly think Michael Penix is going to get the best bump from the combine. He measured well, his medicals are clean and he has a rocket arm so I expect a ton of buzz
Thats a rather large Penix right there. I guess the hand size thing is in fact a thing. LOL

The combine is trending towards a ratings flop if QBs don’t participate.
I could see Rodger making adjustments to participation in the future. This is harming the almighty shield.
Beat me to it 74.

Every single QB opted out of running the 40 besides Hartman
Why even have a combine? This is getting dumb. I even recorded it to watch them run. Unacceptable for my football fix this afternoon. 😤

Not really. Pretty much Brees. Thats it.
This is correct. Regular season not so much but playoffs are where QB size has always dominated.

Daniels better start swallowing rocks. MOST of us knew is that he was under 200 lbs. Eyes don't lie unfortunately. It doesn't change his prospect as a great electric player because his slightness is part of his twitch and speed. It does however increase doubt in regards to health and longevity.

Is there anyone that hasn't been a star this week in interviews? 😂😂
Not quoting you for discussion on this but...Holy **** is that a lazer. I literally watched this in a loop for 5 minutes. Impressive arm. The sound of the catch is telling of the heat on that throw. Not advocating, just admiring.

Caleb is walking that line of putting the fear of God in me.
I've said I personally rate him in the same tier as JD and Maye (I understand that is outside the norm) but with what I have seen at the combine I think I'd take both those dudes over him.
I... I cannot trust my NFL franchise w/ this dude when there are multiple blue chip options available. Give me the humble hard worker.
It is like deciding if you should or shouldn't date a INSANELY hot woman who just happens to be INSANE. The age old dilemma.

I think that's a PR thing, and I think he's being abrasive unnecessarily. That type of stuff usually comes back and kicks you in your rear. I can respect a competitor saying I'm the "badest" mofo out there but you have to know when to become a politician and compliment everyone and defer all praises to your coaches and teammates. He's failing the PR aspect, that's all.
Agree. He reminds me of a late career Cam Newton personality. I get the feeling he thinks he has already arrived yet he hasn't played a down in the NFL. Where is the humility? Maybe it doesn't exist. That is the aspect about Caleb that gives me reservations. That being said I could live with it if he balled out and was just a superstar villian to the rest of the league.

A lot of great athletes are not humble; just saying.
That may be true but if you look into it deeply most Winners have some humility in their personalities.

I don't know. We saw what happened with RG3 with an overbearing father. What if he starts questioning the playcalling or scheme? There are just too many bad possibilities.
Again, I'd still take him at #2 overall, but the concerns are legitimate.
Haskins Dad was a pain in the ass too.

There are no worse sports dads than high school football sports dads. And they like all dads are a non issue in the locker room or on the field. Let him ****. It only makes him look like an idiot.
They just edge out Hockey Moms in that regard. LOL

I disagree. It is a big deal. We just finally booted an owner who knew jack **** about football and still influenced a QB draft pick. Harris falling in love with one of the guys because of an interview is nothing but bad.
I think with Harris being there he just wants to convey a message that the team is all in from top to bottom. Sort of a family vibe. It is harmless IMO.

We are talking about Jackson in college. He has one sesson of barely 60% completion percentage and was less than accurate all 3 seasons. Having good arm strength is not the equivalent of being a good passer. I'm not sure why people keep confusing the two. You know what matters more than a strong arm? Actually being accurate when you throw the ball.
Jackson 2015 - 55%
Jackson 2016 - 57%
Jackson 2017 - 60%
And I like Jackson.
I agree with what you are saying but it doesn't hurt to possess above average arm strength when considering situations where wind, rain and snow are factors. FWIW

Sam Darnold may be a Superbowl ring wearing QB after tonight.
But he will fumble it or throw it away. 😆

Anyone know who is throwing/not throwing at the combine? It would be fun to watch that duel if they all throw but I doubt they will.

Just read that both Whitt and Kingsbury had dads who were football coaches. Usually that means they lived and breathed football 24-7.
As Cousins would say, How do you like that?
So did Drake Maye FWIW.

It is bizarre that we haven't named our HC by now. I get waiting a day or two but this is just weird at this point 🤷♂️
Maybe Ben Johnson has changed his mind again. LOL

Don't forget about Heath Shuler. I remember buying into the hype thinking we got our QB of the future and ready for another decade of fun. It seemed like we never recovered after striking out with Heath. Just one thing after another that dug our grave deeper.
I bought into the Heath hype when he was hitting the goal posts while kneeling at the 20 yard line..He was a couldn't miss pick. OOPS

Doesn't the number 1 overall draft pick make almost double the money as the number 7 overall? What are we saying here? Players care less about cashing in?
