Whomever the pick is I am happy and thankful for all of the perspectives on this board during the process. It was entertaining to say the least. Now it is time for the next chapter and the debate to end!!!!!!

Put JD5 in one of those giant hats that B-Rob had, lol.
He already looks lollipopish with a regular helmet.

I have a good friend who has a similar approach. Start big and then work back down through the ABVs. I work the other way, but the starting point has to be around 5% ABV
At least in your neck of the woods it is a reasonable time to drink. On the west coast its not even lunch time yet. You be smashed by the time the pick is in and miss your predicted trade back. LOL

Can someone out there brainwash me into liking Daniels, I want to be excited on Thurs night.
How about the storyline of GMAP calling him out as a scrub and telling him to put in his work to realize his potential. Then fast forward to GMAP drafting him because he did what was asked of him and became the number 2 pick! Pretty cool IMHO. Almost meant to be.

Well if you’re going to predict something might as well be as wild as possible; at least with picks 2-5 obviously 1 is in stone.
1. Chi Williams
2. Minn Maye
3. LA Chargers Harrison Jr.
4. AZ Malik
5.Oak Daniels
in this scenario we trade out with Minny, after they swap picks with Atlanta for the tampering charge. We get 8, 23, 2024 3rd, 2025 1st & 3rd
The Pats trade back twice so the Chargers can jump AZ and the Raiders who love Daniels.
Then McCarthy at 8?

It’s going to be Daniels. And I’m going to need to constantly reassure myself that we didn’t pass on quarterbacks that can survive and that Daniels isn’t necessarily RG3.
that's my biggest hang up and as we get closer I like the idea less and less.
My mantra will be, “just think what he can do if he’s healthy, just think what he can do if he’s healthy…”
Just repeat in your mind that maybe he is so skinny the laws of physics do not apply to him. Kinda like punching a feather floating in the air.

They must have Doug Williams bound, gagged and locked in a safe house untill the pick is in. Otherwise he would have splilled the beans by now. That is if he is still in the loop. Anyone know what is up with Doug?

I think GMAP willl go with the long term in mind. I can hear Timberlake proclaim "It's gunna be Maye"

Remember when people used to look forward to having a highly regarded GM, in part, so that you have someone in the organization who isn’t beholden to short term thinking?
Yeah I think some of these guys are forgetting about that when explaining the logic behind why they think the pick will be whoever
Agreed. I also find it annoying that some rationalize that we they would pick a QB based off of Kliff Kingsbury's offensive scheme. That too would be short term thinking.

I've been thinking that if Peters wants Maye, and believes NE really wants Daniels and is not interested at all in Maye (which some reports do suggest), then the smart play would be to do exactly what they're doing - let the media buzz about Daniels keep growing without comment, have Quinn drop "gamechanger" and "quick processor" comments about Daniels that match up with his statements about desirable QB qualities, treat Daniels just a little bit differently than the other QB prospects (e.g., Quinn and Peters picking up Daniels at airport) - and possibly make NE nervous enough to come to them. Unlikely it will happen, but possible. I guess.
More likely, GMAP is just going through the process and they're so focused on getting it right, getting off to a good start, that they don't have or want to make time for that kind of scheming.
True. If you can get the player you want and get extra compensation it isn't really scheming it is just good business. At the end of the day we have the power to choose.
-
Hoping we let New England know that Daniels is our first choice but would be willing to swap picks if they absolutely need him at the right price. If Peters does infact covet Drake the most, all the JD to Washington hype is playing in our favour for a little extra compensation. If not I am on board with whomever they select but there is definitely something about Maye I like the most.

I know there's a lot at stake here, as some people have emotionally committed themselves to one qb or the other. So that this becomes a win lose proposition. I get that.
Hopefully, as we get to the end of this ordeal the factions won't tear each other apart.
Let's try and lighten things up just a little...
XXXX
Schefter just reported that Jayden Daniels has hired a new personal chef to cook all of his meals, regardless of who drafts him, in a last ditch attempt to gain weight...
I think only HGH and Roids can cure him of his stringbean physique.

Some of you guys are going to get your feelings hurt when we draft Daniels. It's obvious what we're going to do. The free agent signings has a lot to do with how we are improving the team. They have clearly said we are not in a rebuild mode but we are going to be competitive and compete for Super Bowls. Drake Maye doesn't do anything for us this year if he's on this team. He has a lot of work to do. He doesn't have the IT factor. He's not a game changer at all. Some of yall think I'm trolling, but im not. I've seen just about all his games because I'm a die hard Uva fan which lol.... doesn't say much but they beat him, so I've seen plenty of ACC football this year. Stay away from him. His mechanics is awful and just with the eye test he doesn't have it. Jayden Daniels right now fits us better especially with Kliff Kingsbury system. A lot of you guys always project for the future. It's always next year and build for the future. The Snyder era has gotten to yall. Their is a new regime and they're ready to roll. It Daniels.
Thank you for the revelations Nostadomus. Your argument can be found on any of the gazillion pages on this thread.

Until you see the pick made, we have no clue.
The media can spin round and round.
Peters isn’t spilling anything.
I hope it’s Maye but we’ll just have to wait and see in 3 weeks.
This is a fact. And the mysteriousness has finally returned after 35 years. With AP in the house, we do the playing and are not the ones getting played for a change.

Bobby ****ing Wagner talking about coming here, because of London Fletcher was awesome.
I can't believe we signed him. Wagner, Luvu and Davis, with Chinn crashing down? That's just unreal amount of pressure we can bring from the second level.
And he's a field general and coach. What a huge addition.
Forrest can bring the wood too. Imagine Snead with this group? Thumpers.
