Or has lived in Massachusetts their entire life.

You have absolutely no idea what I have to endure on a daily basis.

Walk a mile in  my shoes my friend.

Somerville for the last 30 years. I grew up in various locations but became a Skins fan when we lived outside DC in the early 70s.

I am sick and tired of the Pats bull**** too, but it's no excuse to root for the Eagles.

I've taken as much of the ridiculous news coverage as I could and I've had more than enough. FFS last night on WHDH they had 8 - count 'em - 8 reporters live from Foxborough on the 10 o'clock news. Why do you need that? ****, you'd think it was something earth-shattering like Dunkin Donuts closing all their stores or Bernie and Phyl dying in a fiery car crash. And don't get me started on the will he/won't he nonsense around Brady this past week. Yeah, it's ****ing stupid. Yeah, most of the Pats fans are obnoxious. But you can't root for the Eagles. Say it with me: Can't. Root. For. The. Eagles. One more time: Won't. Root. For. The. Eagles.

    HTTR! and hail fellow Masshole.

PS - I'm lucky that I don't know a lot of the bad fans. My friends are either not Pats fans, or if they are, they know football well enough to not be too obnoxious. Co-workers are pretty chill about it too. Thank God!

I was thinking that every thing! Though that's mostly because Jon Bois has gotten me interest in the art of "Scorigami."

Nice - really interesting video. It's funny that the Skins were involved in not only the highest-scoring (single team) game, but also the highest scoring (combined points) game: Chicago 73, Washington 0 and Washington 72, NYG 41.

Maybe we can get that 6-1 win this week...

    Hail

I know it's been a rule in football for, like, forever but why are safeties only 2 points? With the way the game is played now, they're so rare and they can be so devastating to a team's morale that you'd think they'd be worth more. 5 points, maybe?

Yeah, next thing we know you'll be suggesting the single (rouge) from the CFL. Take off you hoser! :)

  4. Remember this?

We were 2-4 prior to that loss. We went 7-3 after that.

    Did you see this?

We were 3-4 before that Seagulls game. I'm predicting 6-2 from here on out, based on the fact that I Like That.

10-6 should get us to the paloffs.

  5. PFT: Why won't Kaepernick, RGIII, Manziel consider CFL?

    http://www.nbcsports.com/video/why-wont-colin-kaepernick-rgiii-johnny-manziel-consider-cfl

FYI - CFL rights to all 3 of these unemployed QBs are owned by the Hamilton Tiger Cats.

Plans to bring one of these guys to Hamilton may be on hold since the Ti-Cats have now won two in a row (pure speculation on my part) but I see Brandon Banks is on their roster. Maybe that could convince RGme to go to the armpit of Lake Ontario...

All Boston teams, really.  But I'm completely over the Patriots.

    Belichick is a cheater.

Tom Brady is luckiest gump of all time.

The city is a weak-sauce, low rent, white trash NYC wannabe.

I hope they go 0-16 forever.

    What say you?

I'm a Skins fan and a Yankees fan. I don't particularly like the Boston teams but I do feel good for the long-suffering fans who are now enjoying life for a change, like my neighbor who's about 80. He had to endure 65 years or so of absolute **** before he got to enjoy the type of football team I grew up with. Good for him.

NYC wannabe? This is an awesome place to live. And it's not like I don't have a reference point for comparison. I lived in NYC as well.

I can walk around downtown Boston, Cambridge and Somerville (two close cities that are for all intents and purposes part of Boston) very easily. I can bike all over the place and there's plenty of infrastructure for that. Hell, I bike to work. There are tons of smart people too. Wicked smart. Everybody's smart, from the professors to the garbage men, to the cabbies and waiters. My cats are smart. And we get amazing healthcare. Even before Romneycare (aka Obamacare) came to our state many years ago, the uninsured could be treated, virtually for free, at Boston City Hospital. I broke my elbow and required surgery when I had no insurance. The whole thing cost me $50. Not only that, but I have three doctors who are worldwide leaders in their areas of expertise. That's freaking awesome!!! And low-rent? Where the **** does that come from? The housing market is stupid here now. We bought a house 14 years ago. It's value has nearly tripled since then. We couldn't afford it anymore! I'm not sure where you get the white trash thing from either. It's not like you think it is here. Trust me!

Anyway, I'm sick of the Pats too.

  7. Meanwhile, in scenic Hamilton, Ontario...

ESPN: Johnny Manziel, eager to play in CFL, still in talks with Tiger-Cats

    http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/20519200/eager-play-cfl-johnny-manziel-continuing-talks-hamilton-tiger-cats

Hamilton is currently 0-8, at the bottom of the East Division, and the entire league. The Ti-Cats have been my favorite CFL team for a while, but that could change if they sign Johnny Sleazeball.

  8. Medium.com Shaun King Soul Snatchers series is very interesting.

Two more installments are due out this week.

From what I've seen so far, there is plenty of legitimate evidence of massive corruption throughout NYPD. King also alleges the paper trail goes as high as the mayor. This could get ugly!

  9. Has anyone in the DMV seen/tried Jack's Abby yet?

It's a local brewery to me (in MA) and only does lagers. They have a pretty varied line-up and do lots of seasonal and limited-run beers. My favorite is their House Lager, which is like a high-brow version of PBR, right down to the pounder can. Super drinkable, not too hoppy. Just right!

Anyway, if you like craft brew that isn't too hop-oriented these guys might be for you.

  10. I'm concerned that Jerruh is trying to get influence with the Roman Catholics  - here he is presenting a Cowturds jersey to the Pope:

At the end of next season we'll have to run an analysis to examine whether there is correlation between ref calls in favor of the Pukes and Catholic officials.

Every single time I see this thread pop up, I see Bikini.  Now I know that's not what this is, and my disappointment is limited.

    Do you own a bikini?

agreed. This is why the Dems were stupid to not replace leadership after the election. It wasn't a matter IF something would happen. It was a matter of WHEN. Now when you need to dump a guy like Nunes. Trotting Pelosi out there already hurts any point they are trying to make.

Right now the Rep who openly says they are not comfortable sharing information with Nunes because he might be a security risk to the House and their Committee, wouldn't sound crazy.

This is the single biggest problem with the Dem party: they are all about hierarchy and seniority. Some of the best reps with the greatest integrity are shunned because they wouldn't be part of the emergent dynasty. My representative is a fighter and a guy who has consistently supported not only what is right but what his constituency demands from him. His reward for that is exclusion from the party career trajectory. They're really missing out on someone who could contribute significantly in terms of leadership, but I'd rather he was true to his convictions (and ours) than he play ball with the Wasserman Schultzes of the world.

The Dem "leadership" is clueless and I'm afraid they will allow this travesty to slide by because of their ineptitude and lack of credibility.

  14. The rule is the rule, and we have to follow it.

The merit of the rule is questionable though. It was not uncommon when I played in college for teammates to break helmets. There is no guarantee you'll have the same one throughout the year. The fit isn't so drastically different between helmets that changing one would pose a safety risk.I just don't buy it as a legit concern.

My take on this is that the rule is meant to make fans think the NFL is trying to bolster safety for the players, when in fact it is nothing but total bull****. Just my buck-two-eighty on that topic...
