  1. It really wasnt a down for year for Ridley IMO 76Rec/1K/8TDs. He was asked to stretch the field and used outside IIRC more than most expected. Kirk and Engram feasted from his presence. And they will again this year with Gabe Davis. We need help at WR even if Samuels leaves. Time to give up on Brown IMO.
  2. If i was one of the many rudderless NFL franchises constantly failing to find a QB I would absolutely throw a 4th round dart at Sam and make a small bet that his failures were tied to this orgs off the chart dysfunction. As if our inability to grade retain stud offensive coaches wasn't proof enough, our recent coaches are unemployed, relegated to spot speaking engagements, or college gigs; all the while our new regime has to build an OL from scratch.
  3. If true maybe other GMs colluded and led Chicago on pretending to have strong interest, forcing them to keep their ask too high. One GM may swoop in and nab him on the cheap. Chicago may be well served to hold onto him vs sell him at a discount with the high fail rate of QBs.
  4. Pains me to see every year GMs think its imperative to bring in a failed QB to show the greenhorns how to fail under the guise that it is providing stability or whatever. I would rather have a former QB as an OC assistant type or QB coach to mentor... Seems like a waste of 5M to me. I'd rather go with rookie - 3rd year QBs as backups and tank vs Mariota pressed into duty and eek us to mediocrity and a ****ty draft pick.
  5. I am on board with targeting Queen but think its clear AP is not going for the big cats. I suspect I am one of few that has remained down on Jamin since the moment we drafted him. Drafted an inexperienced small program athlete. I haven't bought in after seeing a flashy play once a month ; he looks like a special teams player to me. It's mind boggling how badly two former NFL LBs botched addressing that position.
  6. Courtesy summary of the days signings for folks new around here LB Frankie "Relax" Luvu - 3 years, max $36M RB Austin Ekeler - 3 years, max $11.43M DE Dorance Armstrong - 3 years, $33M (max $45M) C Tyler "Badazz" Biadasz - 3 years, $30M G Nick Allegretti - 3 years, $16M K Brandon "Mile High" McManus - 1 year, $3.6M TE Zach Ertz - 1 year, max $5M QB Marcus "Moves" Mariota 6M max 10M
  7. My fantasy guy was all over Ekeler as a hard pass last year... saw him not giving his ball in games halfway through the year. I guess the price is right and as a part time / 3rd down back he can meet reasonable expectations.
  8. What's the plan at RB - the discussion starts with will we keep Gibson. I am predicting not with it being a season of change and all, but the answer may lie in looking at KKs scat back history. Does the new brass like CRod? Sticking to my random prediction of bringing in Zack Moss. Rant: Why does the NFL have a tampering period? Tampering by definition implies cheating of course, so they have to clarify it by call it legal tampering. I guess tampering was so rampant the league decided to adopt the term.
  9. I like the rumor of bringing in Gerald Everett. Clearly drafting QBs hasn't worked out for us and if we don't bulk up at WR lets do so at TE. Ertz will miss games and so Everett may be their prime target. I heard Scooters original nickname was Skidmark.
  10. I am intrigued at Zach Moss as a potentially cheaper option... he's more pure runner but we were told the same about BRob and Perine. We may well likely draft a small speedster but I am not sold on the Achane hype train craze Keaton Jaleel et al since they clearly ALL struggled to stay healthy. And probably cannot pass pro. Have the days FINALLY passed that saw OCs expect their scat back to pass protect, and simply get them the ball or out into space? Seems like it. Try to fathom how many times a scat back home run draft pick was wasted because they were expected to pass pro like a boss, wasted away on the PS for years before getting cut. OCs appear to be finally wising up and learning how to get home run backs snaps without getting the QB killed. What the F took them so long.
  11. Go to first unread post.... then click ahead to the 2nd to most recent page. The new normal way to peruse this thread I get the perception Maye's stock kinda seems to be dropping. I am happy to see it if true since there should NEVER be crystal clear consensus on a crapshoot dart throw. I am sticking to my guns predicting Caleb wont be the best QB in this class - nothing against him its just there is a solid pool of competition that may well end up better.
  12. I am ok with Ertz but had hoped for someone better rated but he does have the KK connection so.... so its probably time we write off the rest of our failed QBs TEs and just re-invent the entire TE wheel.
