Game Day Thread 2023: SUPER BOWL LVIII (58) ~ Chiefs vs. 49ers
RandyHolt replied to zCommander's topic in Around the NFL
Thinking they can just use AI to do the dome flyovers.... and quit sweating timing with the end of the anthem. Chase lol -
No real complaints with the RB usage under Jordan other than our 1st down back was basically never used in the passing game before EB, assuming he had some say in the matter. It doesnt matter if a backs hands arent that great, you gotta feature them some to keep DCs guessing. Our WRs with great hands drop plenty of balls. Yeah I am still bitter Perine only ran FB dives under JayZ. Thanks for the tip. I think i now know how to make sure its the Commanders that win tomorrow. Yep i'll be eating Liquefied Spicy Diced hot peppers about 20 minutes before kickoff.

I had to read 7 pages to make sure no one beat me to it. Sigh. H to the izz-O, V to the izz-A For shizzle, my nizzle, hated Snyder's dribble down in VA Quinn's recruitung studs in the home of the Terrapins Got it dirt cheap for them Plus saw they rolled with cheese, man knew i had to work with them Brought in need, got rid of that Rivera Cheese for them Seeking born hustlers, and return TDs for them. - Jay G

Bears with Calebitis - it sure seems like Fields will be ripe for the taking on the cheap. Hoge makes note how he's had 3 OCs in 3 years (cough same as Sam) so he's not a write off. I feel like Chicagos terrible OCs and injuries have held him back most. He abused our D maybe better than any QB we faced. The key to nabbing Fields is not having to grossly overpay him in his next contract.

Thanks for chiming in. I'll take the under haha. Football player analysis is ALL about numbers now. Instead of simple draft slots we got lots of time to quantify % chance of making their NFL comparable, or whatever make sense to project. Instead we will be stuck with you gotta take caleb first overall did you see the tape?? and no numbers to quantify that.
-
We have so many great options to get our QB. Conversely, we have so many options that we may well **** up and take the wrong QB. I would be curious to know what the anal nerds think the odds are of Caleb being Mahomesish? We should be able to get some raw numbers at this point. 20% or is it closer to 40%? Or what are the odds of who will be the best QB in this draft class. What is the spread between the top 5. Quantified tiers whatever. Is Caleb 90% most likely?

What kind of help can Darrell give Forbes? For one a new voice certainly would have little risk. Players can help other players fix problems. Maybe tell him something more than a FREAKING high school coach did. Sharing his experiences including as one of the smaller DBs. It's a guess at most to say veteran players cannot help fix a young struggling player. A player at rock bottom. Maybe Forbes needed coaches to tell him something other than focus on INTs. Which he was clearly stressed about as he had stone hands at every chance. Side note: I still think his INT vs Denver hit the ground. He was hardly alone - all the DBs were desperately falling for doubles to get INTs. After so many reps I am convinced the game becomes largely mental. Just listening can help, especially if its someone the player respects. No one respected our DC and DB coach. The message will get through more than a high school gym teachers did. Darrell would have probably simply told him stop over thinking - just go play man.

JDR had a high school DB coach. It's a shame local media doesn't call out these clearly amateur hour hires when they are made. At least just share with us their resumes - they don't have to bash them. On to Whitt we go. New Commanders head coach Dan Quinn hired Whitt for the defensive coordinator job today. Whitt spent the last three seasons working with Quinn in Dallas, where Whitt’s title was the secondary coach and pass game coordinator. Whitt was viewed as a candidate to take over for Quinn as defensive coordinator in Dallas, but instead he has followed Quinn to Washington. The 45-year-old Whitt has previously been a defensive assistant in Atlanta, Cleveland and Green Bay. Maybe there is hope for Forbes yet. Bland him!

Too bad we couldn't supplement his staff with Klint Kubiak Klein Kubiak and Klay Kubiak - for obvious reasons.

Come actual practice time, he was probably a sleep deprived zombie babbling fool. Sometimes working hard means working hard to make up for lets just call it deficiencies. I have no idea if he is a mastermind or not but anyone that works that hard and fails... not sure how much harder than can work to correct over working themselves. The NHL hockey trade deadline used to feature a TON of trades and rumors were flying around. One year maybe 10 years ago I conducted an experiment and tweeted out a random low level random caps trade rumor and sure enough one of the big names in rumors Eklund ran with it. E1!

Talking short QBs in THE other thread and copy pasting because this type of play has to be on every short QBs resume otherwise they are doomed to fail. One reason I still like Sam and still doesn't get much discussion - he can throw on the run. LOVE his first TD pass of the year to BRob running out of bounds while twisting his body to get into position ~sidearming while still running left it was all the proof I needed that he had studied Mahomes and practiced what he saw. Watch the link but the still is telling. Logan still thinks that pass was to him. This is what the short QBs simply HAVE to ace. Call it Mahomianisming.

Happy Dan **** stain day! It still boggles the mind that the crappy mascot was not unveiled for our first home game. He was unveiled at our last home game of 2022. Unthinkable terrible PR and marketing efforts all within the most popular entertainment field where you gotta really be a failure to fail as bad as we did. We gotta do something about that name and mascot.

And there is one thing Sam showed last year that doesnt get much discussion - he showed he can throw on the run. Make difficult throws. His first TD pass of the year to BRob running out of bounds twisting his body sidearming it was all the proof I needed that he had indeed studied Mahomes after we brought in EB and practiced what he saw. He was stepping out of bounds when the catch was made. Watch the link. Logan still thinks that pass was to him. This the QB thread?? This is what the short QBs HAVE to ace. Call it Mahomianisming.
