  1. Natural instincts helps your pocket presence though. The ability to foresee trouble is more than just teachable. You can't teach someone to foresee things. And the ability to just side step or spin around and have a defender miss you the very last second. The super quickness is more genetic than teaching. Sometime people label that as the IT factor or moxie if you will. Either you have it or you don't. Yes it doesn't show up in stats. But wins do. Taylor has the moxie, the cold viens and the heroism but not the arm. So he makes up for it by doing other stuff that he can control. His instincts so to speak. Now most of the times he is wrong on his instincts so you want to have a QB that has good or better instincts more so than bad ones. Ron even said if he gets the good Taylor he can win games with him.
  2. Natural instincts and having some IT factors is not coachable. This is what you want to see if the QB has it as all other stuff can be coachable. The QB coach has been working with his footwork all season too. Also on some board Howell was either a 1st rounder or early 2nd rounder. So at least he has that going for him over Purdy. Yes Kyle is a good signal-caller but sometimes so is Turner.
  3. Take a look at his first game analysis by Baldy. Words like pocket awareness and anticipation were used. This is what I want to see if Howell has that. Plus we know he can scramble and run too when a play breaks down. Also what I highlighted in bold. The most impressive thing about Purdy's starting debut was his poise. He wasn't trying to bomb it down the field, and he was getting the ball out quickly while also taking more time if his line gave it to him. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/49ers-brock-purdy-debut-tom-brady-buccaneers/cojgksrg1penwdwzncctrnws
  4. I only have one expectation. None. This is why he should start next week so we can see what he can do even in Turner's offense. The OL might be bad but at least Howell has experience playing behind a bad OL in college.
  5. The person I was responding to said he was a 5th round pick and Turner is the OC. So that to me is all irrelevant when you are trying to see his mechanics. I know one game is not going to give you everything but at least it will show you if he has football smarts as footwork and stuff can be worked on in the offseason. IF he does really well or flashes that can also show them if they need to get yet another vet on the decline or not.
  6. Do you really think he will be worse than Purdy? Or good thing they waited to actually develop a rookie before throwing him to the fire without correcting his footwork.
  7. This is what needs to happen next week: -Howell starts -Taylor is the backup -Wentz is benched to avoid any injury settlements. Any other option would be futile.
  8. But WE put them in the playoffs. They barely beat us a team who got their asses kicked by the Browns.
  9. That is just a sour grapes mentality that I don't believe in. Giants don't belong in the playoff either but there they are anyway.
  10. Oh okay. But it also took away our chances of scoring as well. So let's not forget that in the equation as well any momentum we could have had as well.
  11. Who punted from the 34 yard line in one of the Giants game. Or go for it on 4th and 1 instead of taking 3 in the San Fran game or trying to have Taylor be the ball carrier on 4th and 1. Oh yeah Ron. So not all Taylor's fault. Lots of play calling blunders as well. Not running Rob more either. The 1st Giants game we should have won and the second one too after being off for a week. The coach didn't have his team ready after 2 weeks of just playing the same ****ing team. Oh well whatever at this point since our OL sucked anyway. It was nice to hope at least and to have a tad bit of hope on the 1st day of a new year.
  12. Well it was fun thinking we could get into the playoff.
  13. Fine later in the 3rd QT then. Point is try to win the game and if it takes two QBs to do it then do it.
  14. Are you saying Dan told Ron to start Wentz? Was Dan calling plays? I hate the guy too but the blame rests on the shoulders of the coaches. All of it. They got out coached and out played by the ****ing Browns!
  15. My biggest issue was no urgency from Ron about trying to get into the playoffs. He should have at least put TH in after the half to shake things up. Try something else if **** is not working for you. It takes balls to do that.
  16. Taylor didn't want any brown kicks anyways. So he is probably glad he didn't play lol
