  1. We'll see about that last part. Seattle's o-line was exposed by the Giants, and I have to think our D-line is licking our chops thinking about that matchup. Any given Sunday with this defense!
  2. Part of the problem was his inability to acknowledge facts going against his narrative. Like we kept showing him the double team rate chart and all we got in return is “NAH NAH NAH I CAN’T HEAR YOU” and some random stats about DJ Wonnum.
  3. Jeremy Chinn (S) is a name I see a lot, though a lot of that is through his 2 TD performance against the Vikings. I also see Patrick Queen (ILB), Julian Blackmon (S), and Antoine Winfield Jr. (CB). I think Chase should beat out those guys, but will be interesting to say the least.
  4. While I do agree we need another WR in the off-season, Sims developing is a nice bonus to make the position really solid. McLaurin, Godwin, and Sims would make for quite a trio...
  5. Jury is still out on this one. Bosa did have a fantastic rookie season. If he gets another injury, or he doesn't return to form after this one, then you'll be proven right.
  6. Exactly this. @GOATFrerotte, you can't just IGNORE evidence that flies in the face of your argument and expect to be treated seriously. You've said MANY times in this thread "Chase gets handled one on one easily," or doesn't face many double teams. See below, for instance. Are you running away from saying this when the data says you're wrong?
  7. Do you know why you get tagged? Because you have a **** take and continue to stand by your **** take EVEN after data and numbers show you're wrong. I've still yet to see you acknowledge the tweets CLEARLY demonstrating Chase is doubled at a rate equal to Khalil Mack, with a pass rush win rate the same rate as J.J. Watt, Justin Houston, and Demarcus Lawrence. Instead, you just keep saying: "He's only hitting the QB a few times - DJ whathisface is around the same as him." You DON'T acknowledge the good plays he makes and keep doubling down on whatever your data you pull from your bum.
  8. The fact that we get to look forward to Montez Sweat and Chase Young wreaking havoc for the next decade brings a smile to my face. They make watching our defense so much fun. Best part? They're still learning. So much potential in both of them waiting to be fully realized.
  9. Oh yeah, totally. He’s right up there with well known busts JJ Watt and Khalil Mack.
  10. So a huge hit which led to a big fumble, a pass deflected, a couple of tackles, pressures, and generally taking on double teams most of the day. Pretty good day for Chase. He’ll keep getting better, too.
  11. I kind of like the idea someone else above me said. Keep Payne because he’s younger, and let Allen walk. Nothing against Allen - I like him as a player and leader - just think he’ll cost too much in a position group we’re anticipating paying handsomely down the line. The core d-line group (minus Kerrigan) will have one more year here together. Maybe some improved linebacker play will be boost their play. But as others have said, Allen and Payne aren’t quite what we were hoping for when we got them.
  12. Thank you @Skinsinparadisefor the breakdown. Hey, @GOATFrerotte, you gonna dispute what he’s posting? Because according to you, he was “handled” by one blocker all day, when pictures show at least 16 double teams. Get the **** out of here.
  13. Make no mistake - drafting Haskins was a poor choice. And I generally subscribe to your idea. But based on some of your previous posts, and others posts, it seems you’re correlating your disappointment with not getting Tua with Young’s performance. The truth is, Young will develop and grow, and has show signs he is a productive player. It’s also equally true that we COULD have made a mistake by not getting Tua while we had the chance. Chase could become an All Pro DE, but if the Dolphins are making deep playoff runs and winning titles with Tua, then we’ll feel cheated. That isn’t a Chase Young problem though; that’s a scouting/GM problem. Getting frustrated at Chase because he isn’t Tua is illogical.
  14. See, this is a more nuanced take. The truth is we won’t know if Chase was the right pick for a few more years. Part of the knock on Tua was durability - which is an issue that can come up anytime. I will say that Preston Smith is a comparison I disagree with though. Preston would disappear for multiple games, only to emerge for a 2 sack performance. Preston also wasn’t as solid against the run as Chase is. And Chase can and will certainly get better as time progresses.
  15. Thank you. Reading replies from some of these “fans” is mind-numbing. You’re welcome to your ****ty opinion if you think Chase Young is a bust. You’re also going to get called out for it and laughed at when he turns the corner. Because trust me - all the signs are there that he will.
  16. Yeah, your take is dumb. I can prove it. (Notice who is pressuring Jones there?) (Oh, look again at who is driving the tackle into the lap of the QB forcing an errant throw...) I could keep going on here. I have more clips I can find and search. But if you want to demand that Chase has 10 sacks right now as a rookie, be my guest. I'll save this thread's ****ty takes for later when he starts to dominate. Because trust me - its coming.
  17. This is so knee-jerk and dumb. He didn't play great today - but to say he has no impact on the game is blatantly false. PLENTY of shows on film how Chase is impacting the game. Rookies are gonna have bad days. It happens. He can learn from it. Watt had 5.5 sacks his rookie year. Mack had 4. Patience.
  18. Gibson should be featured but it isn’t bad to spell him and have him watch/learn at times too. As long as its McKissic at RB and not Barber...
  19. Something that can’t be overlooked are plays that Chase makes that aren’t on the stat sheet. In the very forgettable Rams game, one of our few positives is when Chase got into Whitworth and drove him into Goff. That turned into a hurried throw that then turned into an INT. Doesn’t happen w/o pressure from Young. Against the Giants - same thing. Chase pressures Jones and he heaved it into the end zone for Kendall Fuller to make an INT. This week, it was the Dallas 4th down conversion attempt. Chase put pressure on Dalton and never let him get set, resulting in an errant throw. These are high impact plays that you won’t find on an NFL.com stat block.
  20. Last I saw is concussion symptoms but no official word. Good time for the bye week.
  21. I think it’s important to note that he’s probably not 100% as groins can limit explosiveness, even if he can play through it. But this the second game in a row that a pressure he caused directly lead to an INT. He definitely has an impact on the game; he just needs more experience and some help. This team is really lacking in talent outside a few pieces.
  22. Depends really. He could use all the reps he can get. Still a rookie, even if he’s playing lights out so far. Groins can linger though, so I wouldn’t be too surprised with a cautious approach.
  23. To be fair, they probably wanted to call an interesting game.
