  1. thats really early. The Orioles always get me mine about 3 weeks before the start of the season.......the one year we opened on the road, they still came at the same time.
  2. When I get back home from vacation I might email them, but I had multiple people attend games with me- primarily to tailgate- and they were happy buying upper level tickets for cheap and hanging out at the Bud Light pavilion, and they would rotate through the other seat next to me every quarter. I didnt see the seats next to me open during the exchange sale, and I think a seller has those, as I never saw the same person there last year.
  3. got this email today: So I guess they dont want us to see exactly how many are available right now
  4. It was that way years ago too. People sell the high demand games (like Cowboys, Eagles, Steelers if we play them and primetime games) to finance their tickets. That's going to happen regardless of the Redskins being a winner or loser, but obviously, being a winning team means that many of us will find some way to squeeze enough money to get out to support the Redskins more than we would if they are struggling. Also, I think STH like my uncle are going by the wayside. My uncle had three sets of tickets- his own that he sold to other fans to attend games, two that we sat in, and another two that someone bought from him every year. He got the other seats from people he sat with at RFK, who would buy/sell/trade with each other. Now that that market is dwindling with people who were willing to pay each other face value, people are going to the secondary market which does not guarantee Redskins fans getting the tickets, but needing some extra cash is a reality that many STH's face.
  5. So would I, but with the plans provided by Monumental Sports (whole season plans make it really easy to make a profit on games) and the Orioles dollar-for-dollar transfer , I just can't see the Redskins doing something like this. There would be too much flak with the fans. I do wish I could have seen the people who have their seats next to me last season, but they sold all of theirs last year, or gave them away. I had some people who would have liked to come to games and sat with me instead of just tailgating, so I hope they make it to a game this year, but I doubt it.
  6. I hate the PSL system, but its going to happen. I don't mind paying it, but it also depends how far down into VA he intends to go. I am currently 25 minutes from Fed Ex. If I have to go three hours into VA from where I am, I am probably not going to do it. At that point, I'd probably go back to Caps tickets to go with my Orioles tickets, and get Navy football tickets. Agreed. My best memories of my dad and uncle are going to games with them. I love tailgating, and I do a Marlins-Man esque thing where I try to bring new people to games every year to pay it forward. I took four people to their first NFL games last year, and two to their first MLB game with my Orioles tickets. I almost didn't renew, but I decided to keep it because gamedays are just so much fun.
  7. I got an email this morning from a premium account executive asking if I was interested in upgrading seats. Guess they lost a lot of those, or don't sell them to begin with. I am tempted to see the pricing on dream seats, but the club level doesn't interest me at all since I like to be close and already essentially have dream seats (I'm an aisle seat at the back end of the visitor tunnel.)
  8. My great uncle played and coached for the team. Some of my best memories are going to games with my dad and uncle. Last year, I took four people to games who hadn't gone before, which I love doing for the Orioles as well. I just can't get behind the total dysfunction of how this team is run. Even if SM is 100% responsible for this, how the team handled it is reprehensible, but just another similar decision made in the Snyder area. I find it really tough to put my money back into the team at this point.
  9. Really considering dropping my tickets after only a season due to the whole McCloughan debacle, as well as closing on a new house on March 30th. I think I will probably give them this year, but after that, it's going to be a choice between Orioles and Redskins season tickets. Also, I do find it interesting that paired tickets are available this early as well.
  10. That is why they drafted Corey Coleman with a first rounder this year and people thought it was a reach......they wanted to establish the deep pass threat.
  11. I don't understand why they would hold those tickets until this late though. My thought is that someone didn't renew their tickets, or didn't pay by the time they had to so the team took them back.
  12. At the very least, you can expect some sort of offense with RGIII chucking it up to Corey Coleman and trying to get a track meet started- that's about all of the hope I have for the offense for the Browns, though if RGIII is humbled from what happened with us, I wish him nothing but the best. This is a team that is clearly rebuilding, and if RGIII works out for them, then they have a QB moving forward. If not, it isn't like it was all of the sudden a lost season for them. As for Jackson, I hope Haslam stays out of things and lets the football guys do their thing. I think Jackson can be a successful coach, I just don't know why he picked the Browns where he gets to deal with another crazy owner.
  13. It's a legitimate question. I paid for my Orioles 29-game package this year in four installments, and as I paid each installment, that quarter (ish) of my plan became available to sell on Stubhub, transfer, trade in, etc. If he's paid for part of it, I would have thought he could do with the first half of his tickets as he saw fit.
  14. Apps like Waze and Yelp are trying to get contracts with different businesses, and a sports team makes perfect sense to try and get a lot of app downloads. Great idea in theory, though from what some of you are saying, not so great in practice. It does take time to figure those things out. Anyway, I also wanted to ask how parking is at the stadium. I last went with my uncle back in 2009, so I am sure a lot of things have changed and I have season tickets this year. Since I don't have a parking pass, what is available to me? I live around Annapolis and can access 50 and 214 at multiple spots.
  15. I have seats in 114, row 11 seat 1 and 2 which is right by the visitor tunnel. I can't see myself getting rid of these.
  16. Really weird, they sent me an upgrade email for Friday at 10 AM, but I just got season tickets and no way am I upgrading them.
  17. I have to be honest, I would feel a little guilty if I didn't attend all those games in the 400 level previously. Also, I can understand offering the guy two seats that are together elsewhere, but offering him a block or five, instead of upgrading someone else? That I don't understand.
  18. I would be interested in hearing the other guy's story, because now that you mention it there are two possibilities. The first, and most likely, is that my father used to be a season ticket holder and we have the same first and last name, so they could think I am him (the tickets were also originally my great uncle's, who used to play for the Redskins so that could be it too.) The second, is that when I originally got the phone call after putting myself on the list in 2013, I told them I was only interested in lower bowl and not the top level because I went with my dad and uncle (different uncle) to games for over a decade and was finished with the walk up to the 400 section. I doubt they took the time to record that, but it's a possibility.
  19. This happened to be as well. Off the wait list, I have section 114, row 12 seats 1 and 2.
  20. Kinda off topic, but those are great seats and I know why you don't want to give those up. My uncle had row 14 (I think) until he passed away. I have very fond memories of that section.
  21. I've been on the "waitlist" since the early part of 2013. After I put myself on it, it took the season ticket office less than 48 hours to contact me asking if I was interested in premium or box seats which they had "readily available." I was very upfront with them, and told them I was not interested in premium or club seats, but I wanted lower level seating, as I attended games with both my father and uncle and was done with walking up to the top concourse every game. They thanked me for my interest and said I might be on the list for some time and tried one last time to sell their premium seating, but I wasn't having any of it. After not hearing anything after that, I got an email about six weeks ago saying it was almost time for me to come off the list and purchase tickets. After reading up on things, including some threads here, I was resigned to not getting tickets because I was not willing to get upper level seats and work my way down. Like I said above, I did that as a kid and had enough of it, and I wasn't sure that I could sell upper level seats and even take an acceptable loss. About three weeks after that email, I was told I was able to log into the ticket website and go pick out my tickets. To my surprise, there were lower level seats available, most of them in the 200 section. After plodding through the selection screen and waving off tickets, I was deciding on a couple seats when I stumbled upon tickets in Section 114. I was able to get Row 14 aisle seats. Considering I have aisle seats for both the Capitals and Orioles, this was a no-brainer to purchase for me. I am still wondering how those seats were available in the first place, but I know I am definitely going to enjoy them. The only thing thing I was a bit upset about was that parking passes were not available, but I've read up enough to know that there are some ways to park there on game day in cash lots. All that is left for me now is to start getting tailgating equipment together.
  22. I do want to point out a couple things, so far as Morocco Brown and Scott Campbell are concerned. With the exception of Jim Zorn, we've had coaches who have had varied control over personnel. Steve Spurrier basically picked his own offensive players. Joe Gibbs was given personnel power. Vinny Cerrato regained Snyder's confidence, and subsequently lost it and was fired, during the Zorn debacle. One of Shanahan's big sticking points in coming to Washington was having that personnel power, and not having Snyder interfering. Obviously, that has not worked out. Under Shanahan, we did get better at scouting and drafting players. However, I credit that to actually keeping most of our draft picks, instead of trading them all like we did in the past. Any front office will draft players and you will have a mix of solid players, busts and great players. However, when you are limited with draft picks, you try and make the most of them, go with boom or bust players, and we just got the bust players. That is one thing I will credit Shanahan for, and that is leaving us with depth. During Gibbs and Zorn, we did not have that depth, but we had the horses at the top end of the roster. Under Shanahan, we may not have the top end talent, especially in the secondary, defensive line and receiver, but we have a lot more depth than we had in a decade. I'm confident moving forward with our front office the way it is structured. My concern is with who we picked as the head coach to lead this club.
  23. If anyone cares, Keith Olbermann was just on the SNF halftime show, and liked the Redskins throwbacks. Compared to those ugly things the Eagles were wearing.......it's another league. I, for one, wouldn't wear one, and I hope that Reebok isn't selling those.
