When the Caps had their first shot at playing in the Stanley Cup, I was satisfied (even though we didn't win any games). For 30 years I wondered what it would be like for our team to be in it. I felt the same way in '73 when the Redskins were actually playing in the SB for the first time. We didn't win either one, but it was nice that my teams were going to play in the big show. I feel the same with the Nats... at least they won a couple (so far). The Astro's were swept in their first shot at the WS. And we're a WC team. Whatever happens I've enjoyed this ride since the WC game. OK, the last 3 home games were no fun. I didn't think they would win game 3 since they were on an 8 game winning streak. Pressure or something had to give. I thought they would win at least 1 of the home games, but oh well. I feel they have a chance to win game 6 if they can hold down Houston's hitting machine. The '24 Senators were behind 2 runs going into the 8th of their 7th game after winning it all in 12 innings. So if it gets to 7, who knows.
