  1. Simmons and House arent wrong. for the life of me, I dont get why the organization doesnt treat this city and franchise like its a destination. Players want to play here and live here, and yet this organization is run like its Milwaukee. Its a joke.
  2. unfortunately, major boxing news doesnt come from ESPN and other MSM outlets anymore.
  3. im not disagreeing, but it doesnt help the rest of the nations in CONCACAF.
  4. you are thinking of this from a US perspective. What about the Central American and Caribbean teams? The only way they get better is by playing these matches. 2016 Copa America would be awesome in America tho.
  5. RIP Emmanuel Steward http://fighthype.com/news/article13492.html
  6. I think we will battle for 4th with Spurs and have a good chance at overtaking them. But we aint competing for a title. Never felt we would. That was the worst Arsenal attacking performance since we couldnt score on Phil Jagielka on NYE 2006.
  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=4nEAG-8_7rk Leeds are back
  8. Chelsea really are a despicable club, but it is funny seeing the English media and pols heated over what happened in Serbia and wanting 10 year bans but not issuing harsher bans on players own racist acts on the pitch.
  9. yea, I think you guys are watching a different Giroud then I am. He is nothing like Chamakh in terms of his movement and scoring instincts. Not even remotely similar. Chamakh is a guy who was stiff and looked awkward moving, Giroud does not look remotely like that. That and Giroud has a history of scoring goals (in fact he had a 20 goal season last year for Montpellier, while Chamakh never scored more than 14 goals anywhere). And he is better in the air than Marouane. The Crouch comparison is odd too. Still early days with him, but he looks like he has a lot more to his game than the typical English center forward types like Carroll, Crouch, or a Cameron Jerome. I am not saying Giroud will be a world beater, but the Chamakh comparison is very convenient to make simply on the "Arsenal sign striker from France, and all striker Arsenal sign from France are the same," thinking.
  10. I dont mind him not being "fluid" as long as he is making smart runs into goal scoring areas.
  11. cant agree with that. His movement, and the intelligence of it, is the best part of his game imo. He has a nose for finding the right space on the field to set up chances. His finishing isnt the best tho. Awkward and Uncoordinated was Marouane. Amazon.co.uk: Customer Reviews: Luis Suarez Celebrity Cardboard Face Mask
  12. Liverpool fans probably know about this, Duncan Jenkins guy? What in the world? http://duncanjenkins.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/such-little-thing-makes-such-big.html not defending Jenkins, but that stuff by Cheng is very excessive.
  13. Tony Pulis is the worst person managing a premiership side. What a scoundrel he is. No comment on Huth's stamp, predictably the FA says nothing because they are idiots. But he flaps his gums about Suarez's dive. I cant wait for him and his cowardly tactics and actions to be relegated out the league, which I feel will happen this season. ---------- Post added October-8th-2012 at 12:37 PM ---------- sad story from MLS last night Slasher slits throat of 25-year-old near Union Square - NY Daily News
  14. biggest mistake of his career, imo too. I actually wish Wenger made a move when he was moving from Villa to Spurs originally. Would have been a great mentor to Ches.
  15. I agree to a point. The issue I have with dropping Friedel is that he did nothing to warrant a dropping this season. If you were going to make the move to drop Friedel, it should have been made this summer instead of after almost 2 months of play. What this move shows to me is that a)Lloris was not in the plans until he somehow popped up late in the window and Levy just made a move b)AVB probably had nothing to do with the Lloris signing and was pressured to play him. Its just a bad precedent. ---------- Post added October-8th-2012 at 10:01 AM ---------- the thing is when I propose a different viewpoint, I am called a troll who is looking for bites. Whats the difference between me saying some are Liverpool sympathizers, and you and others calling me a troll? Especially since my comments on this issue, as you stated that you agree with, were called trolling originally? How about we just slow down on the categorizing of statements and each other as posters, and just look at each comment individually and debate them on an individual standpoint?
  16. I dont think Rovers thought he was done, tbf. Friedel wanted out. Villa were shedding salary and Friedel's contract was up. I still dont believe the guy is done even if he is not at the standards he was 5 years ago, but Spurs treated him wrong.
  17. who are the 2-3 players on every team that dives like Suarez? You cant a claim, and then not back up that claim with examples. And yes, from what I have read on this thread some posters do sympathize with Liverpool. Nothing is wrong with that at all, but I cant accept a sympathizer trying to dismiss Suarez's embellishments and diving by saying 2-3 players on each premiership team does it. I need names before I can take it serious, but I doubt anyone can name 2-3 players on each premiership team because the claim is not true. All have said is that Suarez needs to stay on his feet more to earn respect from the refs. Do you disagree with that? What I also said is that 2 wrongs do not make a right (Suarez diving, and officials punishing Suarez for his diving by not calling legit fouls on him). From what I have read, no one has actually disagreed with me there. One disagreement is with Cronaldo lowering his diving in subsequent years in the Premier League. Me and Elessar disagreed but I didnt say his opinion was invalid because of a bias, and he didnt say my opinion was invalid. The other is that Suarez only dives and embellishes because he does not get the calls he deserves, which I again say is bunk. Ever since I first saw him when he played in the u20s world cup in '07, he has always liked taking dives to con the refs. Its how he plays, and he carried that forward at Ajax and he does it today at Liverpool.
  18. also, this is the Gareth Bale dive from earlier. He is probably the 2nd worst in the league
  19. I get it, Im trolling because I think Suarez needs to stop diving and embellishing contact and just play through things in order to gain respect from the refs like Cronaldo had to do. Meanwhile, the Liverpool sympathizer thinks that 2-3 players on every team dives like Suarez, yet im the one trolling. He will never gain respect from refs until he calms it down, but he wont because thats the way he plays. The diving goes along with his nutmegging and ability to beat a defender one v one. ---------- Post added October-7th-2012 at 08:59 PM ---------- I think dude improved a lot, his first few years in the Premier League he was going over at every bit of contact. If you breathed on him, he fell over. If he failed on a dribble he would fall over. He improved A LOT his last 3 years in England. Its now back to the mess again in Spain tho. And I never understand the need to grab your face when you are fouled. I guess its more honor in the game at lower levels than it is in the bigger leagues. Ive never noticed it when I played a lot in college, never saw it in college soccer either. I just wonder what changes when they reach professional levels, that players need to embellish every bit of contact. The only way to limit it in the top leagues is to do what Serie A and MLS have done, which is have a panel go over incidents afterwards and access monetary penalties, and issue retroactive cards. It wont ever end diving, but I feel that could create a positive change versus how it is now.
  20. when I said stopped, I mean it wasnt as egregious as it was when he first arrived. He got a lot better his last 3 years in England. Before he was teetering to where Suarez is right now with his diving, whereas he moved towards Gerrard level of diving by the time he left United.
  21. I strongly disagree with that. I been watching Suarez since he moved to Ajax,, he has always dived and embellished contact, etc. That is what he does. That is how he plays. Now 2 wrongs do not make a right, so refs need to call fouls when they are fouls, but the reason he does that is because thats how he is. and the reason why Suarez is singled out is because he does it an egregious amount of times. Every time the guy falls over, he is looking for the ref to blow the whistle. I dont remember Cronaldo being like that when he first got to England. Pires was never that bad either. Even Gerrard and Rooney are not as egregious as Suarez is. He got away with it his first 12 months in the Premier League, but it seem everything changed after the "Negrito" incident. I cannot think of another player in England that is as bad as Suarez when it comes to embellishment and diving. If he wants it to change, he is going to have to stay on his feet. Thats what changed for Cronaldo, he stopped falling over dramatically and played through contact unless it was an actual foul. Refs forgot about his diving ways and started calling fouls for him. I would say Suarez has to adjust, but he does not seem willing too.
  22. Huth being a scumbag like most Stoke players Suarez has stepped up his dive game this year, absolutely spectacular. Gareth Bale had a really bad one in their match versus Villa too.
  23. BeIN sports, if you have that. You may not. BeIN Sports has been a joke so far.
  24. watching Cazorla play is like watching some good porn.
