  1. Dont blame him for wanting to stay an OC, may be best for some people. That only thing thats off for me is how late he told the Panthers last year and us this year. That just seems odd.
  2. I'm not saying there were ehh whatever. If their top 3 guys were those 3, there was no need for them to be rushed and worry about losing them. They would of course wait and interview them. Quinn has been available longer but they already have a connection with him. Heck they may not want him.
  3. Teams don't want to miss out on other candidates they like, so they prefer to go with another guy they have interviewed before they might lose him. Especially if it's unlikely they would get Ben Johnson. Seattle was willing to wait and likely would be happy with Johnson, Macdonald, or Quinn so no issue for them waiting.
  4. Whats the downside to Johnson telling the Seahawks Ill interview with the Commanders first? They are going to yank his offer? Even if they try to grab him, he might as well wait and do both interviews.
  5. I was told earlier this off-season that this was a simple minded take on Belichick and the NFL disagrees. Looks like no one in the NFL wanted him after all.
  6. Yeah he seems to really put himself in harms way a lot, if that's something that he just cant stop doing he is going to be oft injured. If thats his instinct it may be hard to coach out of him before he gets broken in half by an NFL MLB or safety.
  7. Dan Campbell was the TEs coach and assistant head coach for the Saints before becoming the head coach of the Lions. He definitely did not call plays. John Harbaugh was a ST coach before becoming the Ravens head coach. Mike McDaniels did not call plays before becoming the Dolphins HC. I want Ben Johnson, and most HCs are play callers, but being a good head coach doesnt mean that you have to have called plays so just trust Adam Peters and Harris.
  8. The Jets are your example of that being a good idea to be successful?
  9. Sorry, but your entire point is null and void because it has been 2024 for 11 days now.
  10. They were not correct to pass on CJ Stroud. Which they did do.
  11. So you want to bank on trading down with a team who wants a top qb and that they end up being so bad again that you get the top pick in the draft the next year? Because thats the only reason it worked out for the Bears. If they were picking 3rd behind us and the Patriots they would not be able to trade up regardless of how many picks they had. Just because it happened once does not make it likely to happen again.
  12. And just because you WANT to move up, it kind of requires another team be willing to move down. If an awesome QB comes out next year, and a team that is desperate for a franchise guy has the 1st pick, they aren't going to trade it. So passing on a guy you can get now top 2 has 0 guarantee you can get a QB in future years just because you have more picks.
  13. Yeah everything indicates he would be coming on as head of football operations and then maybe he also hires a GM underneath him but either way from there he handles the football side of things.
  14. Or genius move. Lose the game and give NE a worse pick.
  15. You haven't explained yet why your position isn't simple minded compared to my silly simple-minded position. So I'll just have to continue on without that insight. If you decide you want to enlighten me I guess send me a message so we don't disrupt the thread.
  16. With Brady: 249-75 Without Brady: 83-101 Meanwhile Brady has won a super bowl without Belichick. And he's 71. I think you are greatly overestimating your percentages.
  17. Belichick is exposed as nothing without Brady. Why would any team want him at this point and at this age?
  18. I love reading your posts and the insight you provide, but I disagree with this one point. If you are at 2 and take a swing and miss its more understandable. It happens a lot, QBs are hard to find. However if you trade back from 2 and one of the 2 QBs that were available at your pick are great it is WAY more damning and hard to come back from.
