  1. THis D is so bad... they would let Danny DeVIto ( Current) throw a perfect game.
  2. The time to fire Rivera and Del Rio is today. Don't wait until Monday. Do it. Do it loud, do it proud and promote EB. RR is done and this team has no excuses to play paloff teams into the OT while laying down for bottom feeders. It's on him, and we should be done with that bill****. FIRE RON RIVERA!!!
  3. I don't normally wallow in the filth of political talk, but I wanted to drop this dime... If you want (IMO) real fresh looks a real news with very little (if ever) political commentary, give Scripps News (formerly Newsy) a shot. I feel the more people watch that, the better informed they will be. IMO, Trump is unelectable. Ill only vote for Biden if there is no other option on the ticket. We need younger men/women that will have to live with the results of their policies for the next 30 years. I personally really liked BUttigieg in the last cycle, but I don't think the country is ready to vote for a gay man... especially with all "woke" nonsense parroted on the right. I don't really like anyone on the GOP side this election (maybe CHristie). In the past I was a Jon Huntsman supported (until he dropped out). I liked McCain too until the gop convince that guy to attach himself to a 2k lbs anchor in Sarah Palin. A Christie/Newsome race would be pretty interesting.
  4. I went in knowing winning in Seattle was a tough order. Agree with the OP. We DO... FINALLY have a worthwhile QB. Im happy watching him grow and learn in real time. We didn't run enough and when we did, it was vanilla. 2 sweeps to the left where B-rob gashed the hawks following blocks, followed by 2 sweeps to the right where Gibson tried (and failed) to cut inside... Ugh... This tells me we need to bring in fresh O line talents in the offseason. I hate saying this, but I also feel we were jobbed pretty hard by the refs yesterday. The ejection was completely insane.
  5. I like what I saw yesterday even it was against a hapless Patriots team. I was already sold on Sam but now I am completely and utterly convinced we can build around him. It feels REALLY friggin good to have a QB like this who consistently throws guys open. He got some larnin to do... that INT at the half was a real head scratcher. I rewatched that at least a dozen times and I can't imagine what he saw out there... rookie mistake. D looked okay. Id like to see them against a better offense before I get comfy with the trades. Im liking the 2 headed RB system were using as both guys continue to look fresh towards the end of the game. Glad for the win. Hope to see more improvement next week against the Hawks.
  6. TO be fair, Its not on the Dline to make sure the 2ndary doesn't blow coverages... but yeah, this D is terrible at preventing points.
  7. Shocked on the trade news. I get it, We'd be in salary cap hell and both have not not played up to expectations... still sad to see tho. Disappointed in a 3rd for Chase. That dude's gonna BALL in SF. Good value for sweat. Wonder how this affects the D as a whole.
  8. Agree with nearly all of the OP. This team continues to befuddle me though. 2 games taking the Eagles to the wire, yet cant win against crap teams... Not happy with the loss, but... this was probably EB best called game this year and harkening back to my previous posts this seasons, this is the kind of game plan we needed with the struggles on the O-line. Same needs short passes and quick drops. He looked great out there. His reads were sharp, he climbed the pocket and sensed pressure well and some of those throws I have not seen since Cousins. Some friggin lasers yesterday. Im sold on Sam with time and a better front line. D line up front looked good, nice pressure all around and better contain on Hurts this game... but we JUST. CANT. SEEM. to get off the field on 3r downs, and we did take a couple of questionable calls. Would love for at least one game the refs don't determine, OR we get the benefit of a bad call... for whatever reason, they never seem to come our way. Meh! I think the middle plays better with Barton out there. 2ndary played nice IMO as well outside 1 or 2 blown coverages. A J Brown is just a beast. Sam was ON FIRE for most of yesterday. With better D play, we win that game easily. Games like this get me hoping that we are learning and building as we go along. Last week I was in the fire RR boat, and now Im off it again. COuld easily get back on if the team lays an egg next week. Roller coaster ride so far that I am mostly enjoying. Cheers to better play and product on the field. Lets crush the Pats!
  9. After the Bears and Giants, my almost serious prediction is that RV gets canned after a blowout loss. In reality, this team will compete just enough to keep me invested in watching the entire game to a squeaky loss, whilst getting blotto, and I won't remember burning my memorabilia in the fireplace.
  10. Ok then. "Get right" for that day. Not sure how long you have been a fan... but this game, Bears a couple of weeks ago, the winless lions back in 2009. Countless other examples. This is us. It's who we are.
  11. Totally. I feel we really missed Barton yesterday. To me, he's that dude that makes the middle click.
  12. IDK. Ron is definitely on the hot seat after this. IMO, Our team is the "get right" team for other teams right now.
  13. I'm not sure how one can make the determination on an essential rookie with 8 start's and a 4-4 record. When he has time, he makes some scary-good throws. I'd also argue that a guy sacked 40 times in 7 games with only 7 interceptions and 3 fumbles yet holding on to a 85 qbr is something of a miracle. We need to address the elephant in the room and that's the O-line, and IMO EB and RV coaching issues.
  14. Another head scratcher IMO. O line got beat and Howell won't last the season at this rate. This begs the question of why EB is calling LDP almost the entire game. take some 3 step drops and get it out over the middle. Take the short stuff all day if you have to. D played well enough to keep the O in it. But 3rd and longs continue to haunt this team. Worst spot for me was the lack of urgency in the 4th Q when we were driving. They let A LOT of time go while chasing a lead. Need to step it up there. In closing, this game finally put me in the "fire Rivera" column. Just an FUGLY day. So glad I skipped going to Met Life.
  15. Hard to predict this one. Team is bipolar. I will say the sack numbers are overblown. Howell has walked into many of his sacks by holding the ball too long and being indecisive. Protection has been decent. A better game plan can cover some of that up. Kids' learning. This game could go either way. Taylors mobility might be a challenge, especially if they underestimate it and overpersue... could be a lot of 3-long successes that wear out the D. Need to contain and make him beat us over the top. Im rooting for my Skins in yet another nail biter. Skins-23 Gnats-21
  16. Can't disagree with most of the OP. Think it's spot on. I just can't understand some things. Team is schizophrenic. Watched Jets game so maybe the Iggles are just not as good as advertised? IDK. Play Calling is uneven. I'm losing patience with Ron's gambling and play clock management. That 4th Q was hard to watch from an O play calling perspective.Glad for the win, and I think Sam can be the QBOTF with time and better protection. O Line needs fresh talent. Like how the D made adjustments to nab 2 good INT's... 3rd was a gimmie due to QB pressure.Still thinking refs are suspect... I cant understand why/how the calls always seem to be stacked against us. The PI call on an uncatchable ball in the EZ... the other PI where the DB made the same play on the ball that ATL db did with no call... and don't even get me started on how our d line can't seem to draw any O holding on blatantly obvious holding calls... IDK. Just unlucky I guess. DGMW, I'll take the win, but for once, I wish I could walk away from a game in the 4th Q and KNOW a win is locked up.
  17. Late to thread... still scratching my head how this team can take a Super Bowl team into OT ad and lose against the Bears. Conspiracy theory in me says the the Butkis death played a role. Weird ref calls, kinda confirm tat. The NFL needed the Bears to win last night.
  18. I still don't understand how people cant see Ron wasn't surprised about getting eliminated. I think he was surprised the reporter asked such a stupid question. Read that mans eyes, and his slight eyeroll when he replied to the question. Thats how I saw it.
  19. Are we talking HC only, or OC/DC and position coaches? IMO worst HC of the Snyder era has to go to Spurrier or Zorn. Both were utterly incompetent from head to toe. For the current crop, I put a lot of blame on Scott Turner. I don't think he's a good OC at all. He just doesn't seem to have that feeling for the game. It became clear to me after I read his resume. A long line of mediocrity, which perfectly describes the Commanders offense. I like Riverboat Ron, and I think the locker room likes him too.
  20. For anyone placing blame on RR or any coach (as much as they are fallible).. use your brain cell and think about ownership. It starts and ends there. Since DS has owned the team its been a complete and utter clusterfuq of #metoo, racist comments, poor drafting, poor coaching, poor records and backing into playoffs from time to time... etc... when you own a popular franchise and can still fuq up a name change.. you shouldn't be an NFL owner. Period. Vote with your dollars Skins fans. Stop investing in mediocrity... no matter your family's tradition.
  21. Take a knee and end you season like grown ups. Fire the staff. Get a new owner if were going to rebuild... rebuild from the top down.
