Great point and no he wouldn't. Same would have happened had Kyle, Sean, Matt, or Kevin stayed.

Also (not directed at you Riggo, you've been spot on), to throw some credit to Ron: The Eagles will be a legit Super Bowl contender this year. We are not that, or expected to be that this year. The Jags and Lions look like the real deal this year. Someone mentioned having the easiest schedule in the league this year. That likely never bares out because there's so much volatility in the league every year. The Jags and Lions are evidence of that. We beat what looks like a playoff team. Lost to a tough Lions team. Couldn't hang with a Super Bowl team.

Yeah no this is a bad team.  No, Kyle, Sean, and others actually were good in Washington, and had good success, something Ron never did.  They were fired or left AFTER being successful for the most part.  The Lions are 1-2, the Jags have been the worst team in the league the last 2 years and the W's needed a miracle to win, and today wasnt even a remotely close game.  Ron gets no credit because he deserves no credit.

This is Rivera and Wright… can’t keep blaming Snyder for what’s on the field. And Snyder is a douche for other reasons, just don’t give Rivera and Co. excuses to stick around:… we’ve seen enough

Sorry, who signs their paychecks?  Who hired them regardless of their ability literally just to take the heat off of himself?

Jimmy G would have just been another Alex Smith style QB. Except our D isn't build to win like that. I much prefer the route we took, get Wentz and surround him with weapons and join actual modern day NFL football.

Yes, it makes perfect sense to spend all of your money on weapons and give them to a pacifist(Turner).  Nothing says modern day football like signing one QB and pretending one guy can fix your 53 man roster issues, even without an Oline, secondary, or coaching.

Why would the Eagles fans chant for Taylor when they are enjoying what is Wentz giving them instead?

I dont know if you've ever met an Eagles fan, but they are both very stupid and trolls.  They would much rather humiliate Wentz out of pettiness than have anything good for themselves.  They dont have joy, the only joy they have is someone else not having it.  Its embarrassing I even have to explain this.

you think it’s logical that we traded for a QB, putting us in a competitive window where even the dimmest person would want to make themselves look justified in making the trade, and just….didn’t want to bring in a single FA good enough to have a wiki page. It’s the simple and obvious to you that Rivera went “nah this roster is fire” after making a controversial statement trade for Wentz? That just doesn’t hold up for me, and even less so as time passes

Ah yes, the coach always made the reasonable and rational and wise decision argument and its absurd to think otherwise because it wouldnt make sense because you think that.  And yet after years of full control the team and roster suck but apparently he always made the reasonable and rational and wise decision because it would be stupid not to.

I just mentioned in the defense thread that points-wise, our offense has been doing enough to win most games. We're at least scoring a healthy amount of touchdowns.

    Really?

Like the 1st half with -2 points with the offense on the field?  Where 3 and out, 3 and out, 2 and safety, 3 and out, 3 and out put the defense in a horrific spot and exhausted them?  Thats the offense doing enough?????

Or like the 10 points off turnovers the Jags had(both short fields) , and then a missed FG on the 3 turnovers by the offense, while still only managing 14 points until the 4th quarter?  Without the offense the Jags score 12.

  7. "Today was a total team failure."

That means it was coaching.  Some of you seem to have an insane crazy person idea that coaches only exist for 3 hours on Sunday, and dont spend 300 days a year coaching the players, motivating them, making phone calls, cutting players, signing players, scouting players, developing gameplans etc.  If a couple of players blow assignments and cost the team its the players.  If its the entire team, its the players.

Because I know none of you that work for a bad company that seems incompetent will take the fall for horrible management, so why is it okay in football?

The Wentz hate has got to stop.  This is the best offense we have had since Kirk Cousins.  I would even say this offense has a higher ceiling than the 2016 team.  The last thing we need is to bring another young QB into this dumpster fire.  Those who think Wentz is the problem doesn't know **** about football, yes I said it.  The Colts are the worst team in football, Wentz made them look at least average last year.

JDR needs to be fired.  This defense was historically bad last year and look even worse this year.  Talent wise, we are average and not historically bad.  I blame all of that on coaching.  I don't care who to promote, literally anyone is better than Rio.

    Wha??????

So first, this offense isnt that good.  Wentz isnt close to the issue, but garbage time, late game scores against two of last years worst teams doesnt make an offense.  Turner is horrible.  Second, the defense was historically bad last year?  It wasnt good, but what in the world are you on about?  They werent even in the bottom 5 in the NFL last year, so not sure thats very historic.  Talent wise, the defense is horrible past the dline.  We have no back 7, and didnt do anything to address that this offseason because Riverboat Ron was gambling on giving all of the assets to the man who doesnt have a clue what to do with them.  Talent wise this is a bad defense, just like the offense is overrated.

Ronald Rivera and Jackson Del Rio can get the boot. Promote Norv Jr to head coach.

Promote the worst coach of all of them to head coach?  Smart.

Turner should have been fired last year.  At least JDR didnt get a bunch of new expensive players this offseason.

Really, Rivera should have been fired years ago(or really never hired) but Danny had to cover his butt.

They don't need Howell to be the guy right now, since they're hoping Wentz works out. The most likely scenario is TH is backup this season, he'll be gone next season and Howell will be the #2, and then everything will depend on how Wentz plays and how good Howell looks. I'd be pretty shocked if Ron came out and said anything different, given that they hope Wentz is a long term answer. Doesn't mean Howell wouldn't potentially be ready to start next season if need be.

Thats reversed, they are planning for Wentz to workout, and hoping that Howell can develop into something serviceable.  Nobody competent is throwing a cheap okay backup QB to the curb for a 5th round bad QB in a horrible QB class unless he balls out in practice for the next year.  And if Ron isnt fired after this season theres an almost zero percent chance Howell is "ready to start next season" in any NFL sense of the words.

  11. So, people think the defense should be good because of all of the talent this season....and if it doesnt perform great Del Rio will be fired.

Yet the team basically has 4 corners, only 3 LBers(Holcomb, a struggling draft pick from last season, an an UDFA guy), no Chase Young, lost Settle and Ionnidas.  This defense may very possibly stink.  Your secondary is 2 overpaid guys and 2 guys who have done nothing at corner, one good late round safety in Curl, no LBers of note, and relying on Allen, soon-to-be-gone Payne, and Sweat repeating 2020.  Theres 4 good players on defense and then a lot of question marks at best, so could be a long year for the D especially in coverage.

I posted this as a response in a different thread, but it's really more applicable here, so I'm putting it here as well.

Whatever you want to say about Dan, on the football side, the roster has been almost entirely turned over from the 3-13 debacle of 2019.   Here is the comparison.

** Note, they flipped from a 3-4 to a 4-3 (actually more of a 4-2) in 2020, so there are some positions which are a bit wonky.

I know that you are sour on everything the organization does, sour on Ron, etc.  And you overtly look for things to complain about.

The 2022 team is MUCH better than the 2019 version.  I'd even say it's a "good" roster.  Is it championship level?  No. But it's a far cry from the 2019 roster which was devoid of talent everywhere.

Says who?  The 2022 team hasnt played or won a game yet, and most of the power rankings Ive seen have them in the bottom 10.  Praising Dan for the possibility that he might not have a terrible team is all kinds of desperate.
