Scott was drinking heavily from the git go. But he was what some call a "high functioning" or "managing" alcoholic (which are somewhat silly terms unless you really understand how they're meant to be applied) . So yeah, he was ass most of the time compared to his earlier days.

Sadly, the heavy alcoholic had the most success, was the brightest spot, and was the best personnel man we've had under Snyder's tenure(despite still being interfered with by Bruce/Dan).

  2. Theres no way you avoid taking a top QB in next years draft, and skip on a potential franchise QB because you have a 5th round guy who may or may not be on the team in a year.

If he pans out and you end up with two great QBs, great, not a problem at all.  If you stupid skip you might as well fold the next few years as well.  Which I know Dan doesnt care about, but the people he hires have to pretend to to get a future job with another NFL team.

  3. Ron has eviscerated the Dline in the same way he did the Oline, and now people are learning, yet again, that the trenches are the most important spots in football.

When Payne goes its going to be a struggle.

...The problem with all these guys (minus Spurrier) is that they were good/great with good personnel people with them.   I don't believe Shanny or Marty had final say in other spots and neither did Gibbs.

Bottom line...Dan needs to stay away from the coach centric model....he's 0 for 4, including Ron.

There, fixed it for you.  Everything else is pointless and theres no other way theres any success.

  5. Oh boy, Rons now throwing more people including his chosen QB under the bus.  You hand picked your QB, dont say the reason the other teams are better is just because of their QBs.

Also, that goes to show you one of the reasons why Ron is a bad coach.  He doesnt think its a team thing, he thinks its just QB play.  And he thinks Daniel Jones and Cooper Rush are excellent.

Plus, why should I have to spend even 3 seconds looking for whatever the person is talking about when I can just ask them what they're talking about? That's how normal conversation goes lol...

You were literally wrong, actively disagreeing with someone who was better informed and literally right, and thats about usual.

Im not surprised normal conversation for you is like that and you dont care about knowing what you are talking about before talking, but at least show more self awareness than Snyder.

I haven't read the tweets where she calls someone a troll yet...but in the one you posted she responded to what appears to be either a question based on lack of knowledge or a rhetorical questions to convey judgement, and her answer wasn't really a sign of anything other than correction.

"I havent read the tweets where she calls someone a troll yet", "Just for accuracy sake, it's more like she's being the troll than calling others "trolls"

Also Califan, 'Why spend the 20 seconds reading her tweets when I can disagree with people who are right?'

It was just about her first tweet response in her new "Defending Dan" position.

  8. Some people here thinking about getting a QB in next years draft to solve the problem havent quite thought that through....

I know some of you are worried that if we end up with a top 5 pick it will be Ron making it.  But that wont happen.  Dan Snyder will watch some youtube videos and will make that pick.  Thats the QB the Commanders will get next season.

Typically I'd reply with snark and a joke. But I heard about 10-15 of this interview and to be honest. I am genuinely embarrassed for JP right now. How he asked questions. Saying "yeah" when Brownlee gave him a non-answer answer and probably not realizing it sounded it he was agreeing. Getting rolled in general.

I'd imagine when he goes back and listens to that, he won't be proud of himself. That was pretty sad to allow the team lawyer to go for as long as he did, saying what he was saying, while painting Dan and Tanya as victims.

Didn't hurt Snyder or help him. I think the only person who lost from this is JP. Unless he starts getting exclusives from the team. And even then, it won't be a secret why.

Yeah, seems JP went to try and get favor with Snyder and cared more about that than favor with the fans who actually indirectly pay for him to be a journalist.  That wont go how he thought it would.  When given the choice of doing fans a favor and going after Snyder and asking hard questions, he opted to do Snyder a favor and try and generate more opportunity for his future career.  As if the lawyer couldnt have held his own when JP was asking tough questions?  Thats literally the lawyers job and if he cant handle it from a journalist then hows he supposed to be any good when getting it much worse from a court or committee.

We've had GM centric models:  Bruce, Vinny with Zorn, Jay, Spurrier.

No we havent, Vinny and Bruce were not GMs, they were minions, and pretend friends.  Neither had the authority to act as a GM, they had the authority to pretend to be one as long as their decisions matched up with Dans, and when they didnt Dan would override them, so its not something he has ever tried.  Its also something he likely never would.

  11. This is always the second to last stage before the firing and total collapse.  The anger stage, the starting to blame other people, get upset over the questions because you havent gotten any better after people have given you time.  It seems to happen every time as part of human nature.  The building pressure, interntal sense of failure, and no longer able to see a way out as nothing you have done as worked and you dont know what else to do.  You no longer have the calm assurance that you have time, you see it running short.

The last stage is when you see him no longer seem to care.  He will just give canned responses, have no answers, and seem sadly resigned to the fact nothing is going to get better.  Thats when hes accepted it, and usually when the firing happens.

What’s gonna happen is th or howell will come in and our team will start looking normal and get some wins. Wentz is simply the worst qb on the roster. Th won 7 games last year with less talent and a tougher schedule. You can’t do anything in this league if you don’t have a good qb. Ron’s obviously not the best head coach/gm but he’s not the biggest problem. See what Ron can do the rest of the season without Wentz as the starter and if it’s still ugly then you fire him.

Oh, the guy in charge of all the decisions, all the players, and all the coaching for the past 3 years is most definitely the problem.

Maybe there is a reason they let Flowers walk...

Maybe theres a reason they didnt treat Williams well enough to keep him.  Maybe theres a reason they let Moses walk.  Maybe theres a reason they let Scherff walk.  Maybe with 1 of those they had a good reason, though I dont think too many people are going to give them the benefit of the doubt.  Its hard to get credit for maybe making a good move the 4th time when you botch 3 before it.

  14. Fundamentally the reason Ron should have never been GM is he thinks too highly of himself as a coach.  He believes player success is all down to his coaching, and not talent, so long as they have the right attitude to obey him.

We had some good secondary players playing well in the system, and we let them go because he was convinced he could just replace them and coach them up.  We had good Olinemen, and we let them go because he was convinced he could just replace them and coach them up.  We had a good return man and we let him go because he was convinced he could just replace him and coach him up.  Ron is spending this season scrambling for guys to replace the guys hes already brought in to replace someone who actually played well.  Now in some cases re-signing a player isnt worth the price and you have to do that if you can bring in someone as capable.  But Ron's gone way overboard on that.  And thats what happens in Free Agency when you are convinced its all about you.

After the Lions game I told my wife I expect JDR to be fired after the Eagles game if our D plays like they have been.. well Our d wasn't the issue today.  Our issue was the same issue on the other side of the ball the first 2 qtrs vs Lions... the OL.

How do we fix it?  I got flamed for bringing this up a few months ago but I think we need Bill Callahan back.  Dude could put even players that we just picked up off the streets and they could hold their on against some of the best DL in football.

There has to be a decent center somewhere in a FA or sitting somewhere on someone's roster at a constant healthy scratch on GameDays that could be better then what we are putting on the field.

Its unfixable.  It was broken when the team decided to let its good O-linemen go because they were so brilliant they could draft or coach up other guys to replace them.  Their ego broke that, and made it unfixable until next season.

Lost in the hubbub of another awe inspiring defeat is the lil nugget that the mascot decision has been whittled down to a hog or a dog.

    https://www.yahoo.com/sports/commanders-announce-mascot-choices-down-172900019.html

Either one will bring the home crowd back in droves I’m sure.  Not that I really care but at this point but I’m thinking they need to lean dog.  They have the capacity to love and stand by you no matter what type of putrid filth you actually are.  Maybe they’ll be lucky enough to find one that eats **** out of the litter box since that’s the same thing they feed their fans week in and out.

Hogs? nah, this crap doesn’t deserve to be associated w the Hogs.

For them to deny RedWolves and then use a dog that kinda looks like that would be the ultimate Snyder move.
