  1. It's funny that people get mad at athletes for something we all do. I wonder how many people stay at their first job their entire career? I'd say probably a very small percentage. I don't understand why we think athletes are different. I don't think we'll see many more guys like Kobe and Duncan that play their whole careers for one team. Free agency pretty much ruined that in all sports. And I don't blame guys for wanting to go to better situations.
  2. Wait, so you agree that ownership hasn't been willing to spend money, but then blame the GM for not getting better players?
  3. One of the local bars in St. Mary's County has it on tap
  4. Had some Dead Rise on draft last night. Definitely better than when I had it in the bottle. Could taste a smidge more Old Bay in it.
  5. That's tough. The Chargers had some really good team that just fell short. They went 14-2 one year with Marty at the helm. Now I agree that Rivers is better, but he's had some good teams in SD. I do agree though that where the player lands does have some effect. If you put a rookie in a situation where he is expected to carry the load every night, that's a ton of pressure on a young guy right away. If they go somewhere with some more developed talent and don't have to the superstar from day 1, they seem to do better over the long haul.
  6. I've had it. It's not bad. I personally couldn't taste much Old Bay in it, but other people I know said they could. It's a pretty good summer beer IMO. Pretty light, but you can taste the hops. I'd give it a B.
  7. Still hadn't found the Mint Chocolate but a buddy of mine had it and said he didn't taste any mint in it. Said it wasn't bad, but tasted more chocolately than minty. Dead Rise is good, don't get me wrong. Maybe a B- was a little low, I'd say B.
  8. I'm the same way with Old Bay, I put it on my eggs, chicken, potatoes, fries, corn, burger, you name it lol. It really is a pretty solid summer beer. My brother said to him it tastes like Sam's Summer Ale with Old Bay. I didn't really taste any citrus in there. To me I got some hops and a hint of Old Bay. Enough that you know it's in there, but not enough to over power it. It was a solid beer. I'd give it a B-.
  9. Was able to try some of Flying Dog's Dead Rise last night. I thought it was pretty good. Could taste a hint of Old Bay in there, but it was a pretty light hoppy beer. Definitely a good summer beer and would go great with crabs.
  10. Pretty crazy that when Pop hangs it up that Spoelstra will be the longest tenured coach. Seems like no coach is safe in the NBA.
  11. Porch Rocker is amazing. I remember trying it last year when I first saw it. Really good warm weather beer.
  12. Yeah I think Cuban is right too. Especially since this all came to light because of the girlfriend illegally recording the convo. I would imagine if the NBA tried to take away the team, Sterling would quickly sue the league and have a pretty good case.
  13. I agree. It's actually good for the NBA that the Spurs, Thunder and Pacers aren't running away with their series. Nice to see teams like the Wiz and Blazers playing well since its been awhile for those teams. The NBA needs more Wiz and Blazers and less Heat, Thunder, Spurs, Pacers. Look at what parody has done for the NFL.
  14. Will be stopping there today! Right on my way home from work. Gracias!
  15. How is the Mint Chocolate? I was looking for some around here but haven't found any yet
  16. You're probably right in that he was never "the" guy. But he was certainly fun to watch. Now I'm only 28 so I don't really remember much of Hogan/Savage and the like in their primes. I do remember watching the Saturday morning wrestling on NBC as a kid though. My grandfather was a huge wrestling fan back in the day. I remember he had some old wrestling book with guys like Snuka, Slaughter, Shiek, Hogan, etc. I probably looked at it every time I went over there lol
  17. I think Savage could be a top 10 guy. Though I'm not really sure who from that list I'd take out, but I'm sure there's a case for Savage as a top 10 all-time guy.
  18. Looks like Dead Rise will be available Memorial Day through Labor Day.
  19. Would love to see the Spurs win it. I dunno what it is, but I really admire that team and the run they've been able to have. If not the Spurs, I'd like to see Durant. Just anyone but Miami.
  20. I'm definitely skeptical of how it will turn out. But considering most Flying Dog beers are pretty solid and their a local MD brewery, I think it has a chance to be good. I'm definitely going to give it a try.
  21. I love Old Bay and I love beer. Just not sure how they'll work together. But from Flying Dog, I do have decent hopes.
  22. I have a buddy that works for Flying Dog and there is an Old Bay beer in the works
