  1. Those averages are the same as he put up the last 5 games of the year (once he was the starting slot). Haskins was the QB for most of those, the OL was bad, and there weren't a lot of other weapons to attract defenses. Seems like a similar situation...
  2. It's about 4 rec per game at 11 yds per rec. If he is the starting slot for 16 games and doesn't get to around those numbers...I would consider it a disappointment.
  3. 67 rec 741 yds 5 tds 75 rec 937 yds 8 tds My projection formula is proprietary so unfortunately I can't share it with you.
  4. https://www.nj.com/giants/2018/02/inside_look_at_giants_oc_mike_shula_tenure_panthers.html Jourdan Rodrigue, who covers the Panthers for The Charlotte Observer, takes you inside Shula's seven-year tenure in Carolina, where he started as quarterbacks coach for a rookie Cam Newton and was promoted. The team went to a Super Bowl and Newton won a MVP in 2015, but Shula was fired last month. "What stands out about Mike's time in Carolina was the inconsistency with which his offenses operated. At times, the Panthers looked unstoppable and at other times completely predictable and sluggish — it never felt like either end of the spectrum would last very long, either." "The complaints I mostly saw were that he was too predictable."My opinion has largely been that Shula is great with play design and concepts, but decision-making, rhythm and timing were not his strengths. So I think working in tandem with Shurmur could be really good for him. "I've always kind of looked at Mike like the kind of bright, slightly disheveled mind that is happiest when buried in notes and film and coming up with new ideas. That's a great mind to have around. But you don't always want that guy calling the plays." "His scripted drives were largely successful, but in-game adjustments constantly seemed to happen a touch too late."
  5. Unless I'm misremembering (which is possible due to the ole malt, hops, & bong resin issue) didn't Rivera already say Charles was going to start off at LT and that he would also learn a little LG as well because they like the OLmen to know what the guy next to them is supposed to be doing? So, unless I am totally imagining this, the decision has already been made to see if he can handle LT first.
  6. If he can maintain his stance up until the ball is snapped he'll be halfway there...
  7. Just look up how Cordarrelle Patterson and Curtis Samuel have been used. Instead of worrying how he is going to be used think about how the opponents are going to stop him. I could be wrong but I don't think Philly or NYG have a S or LB that can match up with him...which means they will have to put an extra CB on the field...and hope that CB is "all in" on tackling a 228 lb RB/WR on a jet sweep.
  8. I'd be willing to bet he lines up as a WR more times than he touches the ball out of a single back or "I" formation. Hell, since we aren't betting real $ I'd say he has more receptions than carries.
  9. Probably 10%. Like @mistertim said they will probably have to let at least one go. The "good" news on that front is Ioannidis will be 29 when his extension is up and I highly doubt he would be re-signed. Still not sure you can get creative enough with the numbers to re-sign all 4. Maybe if there was a year in between them in the middle but still doubt it.
  10. He was a JUCO transfer. 1st year at Memphis they had 2 1,000 yd rushers (Darrell Henderson had 1,900 and was the Rams 3rd rd pick) and ran way more than threw it...but he still didn't do much...don't know why. Next year he had 71 touches. Their #1 WR had 76 touches. And again they ran more than they threw it. I think they just spread the ball around a lot.

  12. This probably belongs in the FA thread but I recommend taking advantage of the free NFL game pass right now. You can watch condensed games (25-30 mins long) or all 22. It is a great way to watch individual players without the anger and disappointment of the season to cloud your judgement. Also, and why I mention it here, I am going to watch the Bears to get a handle of Lucas. He played 100% of the OFF snaps in 6 games last year (weeks 3, 13, 14, 15, 16 & 17). Week 3 was against the Skins and I think he matched up with Kerrigan a lot and didn't give up a sack and had a pretty good game. We we may already have our starter for next year and not need to worry about Penn/Peters.
  13. Of course you would...because you are super smart...like me. Man, Joe Gibbs would have loved us!
  14. Great question. I don't have any illusions of the Skns competing this year so the only reason I would even sign Peters is if everything was going wrong at OT and we absolutely needed someone who can protect Haskins enough to give the staff a chance at a proper eval of him and the offensive players as a whole. I think/hope Lucas/Christian/Charles can do that. If not I'd look toward a Penn type first and then Peters as a last resort. To to actually answer you...it would probably take 12+ mil...and we have the room for it so I guess I could stomach 12-13 mil but I would feel much better in the 8-11 mil range. I could be way off on these numbers...I just don't know what he would take.
  15. I agree dude he would probably love to sign with a contender and he already has a ton of money. But...how much money does Trent have and he still wanted more? Why did Donald Penn sign here? I'm sure he has plenty of money as well. If the choice is between the Skins and a contender...only a crazy person would argue the Skins are the better choice...but he may not have that choice. If he really just wants to play football then it is probably better for his to sign sooner rather than later. If he is more interested in playing just for a contender he should probably wait a little bit and see which team(s) aren't liking their OT situation for whatever reason (young player/draft pick not developing or injury etc).
  16. This seemed like a pretty fair assessment: Pass Sets - He's really smooth and light on his feet. Has little issue extending his pass sets into space to greet quick footed rushers. He favors hops to anchor and bend himself to avoid being walked back into his quarterback. Mirror skills and suddenness to redirect are highly effective and offer him a great foundation. Length/Extension - Would like to see him have a little more trust in his reach, he's often overextended and plays out over top of his toes — which stresses his base and puts him into recovery mode more often than he should. Anatomically speaking, he's got reach to have success on the edge. Balance - His natural balance is apparent when you watch him in space. Really like how dynamic his lower half is when he's forced into recovery mode as well. He'll get knocked around a bit due to strike timing and core strength — some sloppiness in keeping himself tethered makes life harder than it needs to be. Hand Technique - He can be premature with his throw and because he's overreaching there are times he robs himself of some of his natural punch power. Would like to see a stiffer initial pop to really jolt defenders. Needs more assertiveness to work his hands inside and not settle on a mediocre hand fit. Power at POA - He's a smooth athlete and has the ability to mirror feet and roll hips through contact for big push. That said, he's still pretty light in the trunk and his ability to road grade defenders is a work in progress. Definitely has the functional athleticism to be a big asset in power run but currently better suited for zone. Football IQ - Laundry list of little things that he can add more polish to. The good news? He's not a total rework from the ground up, I like his feet a lot and think he shows good spatial awareness when under assault from blitzers and stunts as well. Get the hands right and create trust in his punch power and reach and he'll be set. Functional Athleticism - Terrific natural athlete. Question begs to be asked what mobility could be compromised by bulking him up but he's highly fluid and shows excellent short area mobility to drive, attack and mirror in space. Successful second level climber as well. Comfortable chasing the rabbit on an island. Anchor Ability - Needs to add more mass. He's very lean built and while he does offer a barrel chest, his torso and lower half are going to need more muscle if he's going to hold up against speed to power. Ineffective anchors are complicated due to his punch timing and lapses in posture that compromise his power. Flexibility - Little issue hinging and opening his hips to greet rushers or flip inside to wash and carry inside counters. His hip drop and knee bend is excellent to work himself under rushers when locking horns on the edge and his base is strong to catch his momentum and drive him against the grain as needed. Competitive Toughness - Simply needs to get stronger. Appreciate his scrappy play and when he's got a firm fit he's hard to discard because he's so smooth with moving his feet and pressing the issue. He's not a power player but he's got plenty of explosiveness as his disposal that needs to be properly harnessed. --- Best Trait - Functional Athleticism Worst Trait - Anchor Ability Best Film - Georgia (2019) Worst Film - Alabama (2019) Red Flags - 2019 suspension (undisclosed) Summary - Saahdiq Charles projects as a potential starting left tackle at the NFL level. He has high end physical tools, functional athleticism and build at his disposal — offering ample foundation to build upon. Charles will need to fill out his frame and add some additional functional strength in order to hold up consistently at the NFL level, and his off-field status is filled with question marks due to disciplinary measures. Charles should be considered a high ceiling, low floor prospect. https://thedraftnetwork.com/player/saahdiq-charles/voQWo2GTZm
  17. Ezra Cleveland has 33.38 in arms and I haven't heard anyone suggest he is better off at G. Bakhtiari has 34 in arms and is a 3x pro bowler. I know arm length is defenitly a factor but if he can move his feet and get strong enough the only thing his arms will do is possibly keep him from being elite at OT. He can still be very productive as an OT with 33 in arms. We have been spoiled with having Trent and Samuels. There are plenty of playoff teams that don't have elite OT play. @JaxJoe is absolutely correct...everyone on that OL is going to have to earn their spot. Obviously Brandon, Chase, & Morgan have the advantage but I wouldn't be shocked if Chase or Morgan were surpassed at some point during the season...or sooner.
  18. All three of those Skins players played in TX (as I know you already knew). He appears to like/pay attention to TX college players...despite being from OK. Similar to a FL/GA thing...proximity and all I guess.
  19. I understand why he did it...but... No actually he doesn’t have to say stupid things like that. He he could have easily said something about how Tua is one of the best QB prospects he has ever worked with and he is a franchise QB and should be the #1 pick in the draft. But that wouldn’t get as many clicks/follows/comments/etc But I’m halfway finished with my first Highland Scotch...so who really cares! 😚
  20. Are we really going to ignore the fact that Dilfer said Tua throws better than Rodgers and Marino? I’ve heard some absurd **** in my day but what an idiot. This is Merril Hoge territory stupid.
  21. What were his choices from the guys he had worked with...Haslet, Monte Kiffin, Todd Wash, Gus Bradley, Raheem Morris, Bob Slowik, Perry Fewell, Joe Barry, and Manusky? Not sure how bold it actually was...definitely smart thought! 😁
