  1. I'll always maintain that if you're old enough to remember the originals from when you were a kid in the late 70s, early 80s, there's no way that anyone could produce anything right now to live up to what you remember as a kid now that you're a bitter, jaded and cynical adult. And when you watch the original three as an adult, you might put aside the fact that they're campy, the acting isn't great and anything else you notice now that you didn't when you were a kid...because those movies take you back to a great time in your life. As an adult you look at things through a more critical eye. Even the last time you were completely blown away as an adult by a movie, it still is a different feeling than the wonderment you had when you were a kid for the original three. Things are just better as a kid. You're more easily impressed. These new Star Wars movies never stood a chance with the original fanbase because now the original fanbase is older and has a different taste. I'm willing to bet that if the original three were released today they wouldn't generate the acclaim that they did back then.
  2. Rambo Last Blood. A+. Fantastic. Bravo. Yes, it's predictable. Yes, it's not a great story. Yes, the acting isn't Academy Award level. But it's like a 70 year old Stallone setting up booby traps and playing a ****ed up Vietnam veteran version of Home Alone against some Mexican drug cartel types. What'd anyone expect, Othello or Hamlet?
  3. Fine, fine, fine. But you know the rest of the analogy is money.
  4. I gotta say, Star Wars fans are like the Redskins fans of the NFL. Some really good movies in the early years when it was owned by someone who knew what they were doing and everyone liked. Then it was purchased by a bunch of dickbags and they've produced utter crap throughout the years. Similar to Redskins alumni weekends, Star Wars fans get excited to see glimpses of the original gang that made them love the movies and keep hoping that the new, terrible ownership will somehow return this franchise to glory despite knowing deep down that there's no possible chance. Begs the question, who's the Jar Jar Binks Redskins equivalent?
  5. Now that everything is being documented for all time on twitter, facebook, instagram, etc, people feel the need to constantly prove what side of history they're on and to what extreme. Anyway, sucks to see Rendon in the Angels uniform. I am hoping you guys land Donaldson. This is pretty cool: https://www.cnn.com/videos/us/2019/12/15/mlb-third-baseman-josh-donaldson-surprises-mom-maserati-vpx.hln And I always liked this explanation of his swing, dude is obviously dedicated to his craft. I think he'd fit in with the Nats.
