  1. He passed the ball early on and all our guards did was brick 3's. Everyone is equally sucking ass against a team that they should have never had to play on National TV. The NBA made us the sacrificial lambs.

Read an article by Lee in the Post today about Gil's injury. In it they quoted Flip as saying that he hope the Wiz aren't going to be the homecoming team. (The team a high school plays on their homecoming that they are a lock to dominate.) Unfortunately that's exactly what they are. But oh well. We were horrible last year. Rome wasn't built in a day. I'm dreading the "sky is falling" bull**** I'm gonna hear on the radio tomorrow.

  2. I'm happy for all three of them. I'm real curious to see how they develop too. It probably won't happen but I do think they all have a possibility to develop into a big contributer down the road.

Also for an example of how bad 106.7 is, Friday night a host on there said that he didn't understand why we didn't cut Yi instead of Morrison. That Morrison hit "40% of his 3's." Worst thing I've ever heard in my life. I'm embarrassed that that is the radio home of our Wizards.

  3. Its no different than how he went on about the Bullets being Baltimore's team

Honestly, I didn't know what his point was then either.

That's what I'm saying. It's like he's following me around waiting for a chance to have a debate with me. It doesn't matter if there is no debate to be had or he has to (intentionally?) misconstrue what I'm saying to have one. I don't know what I did to him.

  4. Lol, Jesus Christ...I swear, it's like I banged Chipwhich's mom or something.

I was speaking toward the general suckiness of DC sports. I brought up a three year window in which the Wizards didn't suck. One year in which we were dominant for half a year. To compare it to the two years that the Caps have been relevant and the stray year that the Skins matter. So, ignoring any said bang of moms, my point was that in recent history (recent as in the last two decades) all teams in DC have sucked pretty much equally. Not that the Wiz have been more dominant than anyone else. Hardly.

I'm literally sitting here dumbfounded. I know I kind of rambled in my post but wtf Chipwhich? How did that go Apollo 9 over your head?

  5. And now ESPN says that Gil has been fined $50k for his latest headline. It took all of 4 preseason games for the Wizard of Odd to cause a stir again. I wouldn't be so sore if he didn't miss two whole seasons, so long that I forgot what he looked like. For the better part of 5 years this relationship has been very disfunctional. If not for the Caps and Skins I would be a very depressed VA fan. The Wizards have been bad since before I was born.

Were you asleep during that three year run when the Wiz were making the playoffs and the Skins and Caps sucked?

Let's be real. They've all sucked for the last decade and a half. I don't think any of them have really trumped any of the others in any type of way. I don't follow hockey much but if my memory serves me correctly, two and a half years ago, the Caps were total **** and fired their coach midway through the season and brought on Bruce from the minors. The Skins are the Skins. I don't think I even need to even say anything there.

Ultimately it ended in disappointment but there were a couple of years there where the Wiz weren't really that far off from where the Caps are now. There was that one season where we were the #1 seed in the East at the All Star break. I don't know about you, but a lot of us thought we were legitimate contenders. And without a doubt Gil was a legitimate MVP candidate for a stretch. When he was hitting daggers every other night.

That's why Gil's downfall has been so heartwrenching. I mean damn. He was DC sports. And now he's just a freak show that everyone is waiting to get bounced out of town. Hell I remember when I got his autograph for my little 6 year old brother. My dad was like, "That's so awesome. He's gonna be in the HOF one day." It doesn't even make me angry. Just sad. Hopefully he turns it around but I'm not holding my breath. He is what he is. His success on the court blinded us to it.

  6. I got home from school just in time to catch the Wizards complete collapse in the second half. I couldn't believe how bad their free throw shooting was. And I hope Blatche isn't planning on playing like that in the regular season. All his going one on one for 10 seconds at a time while going between his legs half a dozen times before finishing with a spin and a missed fadeaway. I hope his strong finish last season didn't blow his head up. I still don't trust him. I know other people are on his bandwagon but I'm skeptical. To say the least.

But yeah, Wall is a monster. I think 16 points, 11 assists and only 2 turnovers tonight. Dude is legit. I'm beyond psyched.

Oh and people derided the Armstrong signing in the offseason and he's still a scrub but he also had a couple of nice blocks. Including one to reject a dunk. You don't see that often. Dude is acceptable for the role he's going to be asked to play.

And Morrison is a ****ing loser. God he sucks. There was one play where he got a rebound right below the basket. Instead of going straight up with it and slamming it home or at least drawing a foul, he passed to Blatche or Mcgee (I forget which one) who was like 24 inches to his right and made them do some bull**** fadeaway hookshoot. They made it but still. That's not an NBA play. It was ugly. Dude is a *****. Scared.

  7. The funny thing is, I remember having this exact same convo with Kosher YEARS ago. Multiple times. Kosher is like an NBA bully. He roots for the Lakers for whatever reason--not because they win, cause he's no bandwagoner--and the Wiz suck (like we don't know this) so he talks ****. To get his kicks? To feel better about himself? Cause he's just a dick? I don't know.

Meanwhile nobody gives a **** and just wishes he would leave the thread and let us enjoy the little bit of hope we have started to get with Ted and Wall.

Anyway, here's that pic of Yi I forgot to post awhile back:

  8. Yes, I believe Kosher Ham is a Lakers fan....and for some reason, he always feels the need to take a shot at the Wiz.

I haven't figured out why feels the need to do so but frankly, its starting to irritate me.

Probably subconscious guilt about being a bandwagoner. He needs to lash out and put down the team of true Washingtonians to justify his fandom of the Lakers to himself.

  9. I've got two tickets in section 102, row K that I'm selling for the home opener....unfortunately I have class that night and can't attend. I'll sell for under face value.

    PM sent.

    Arenas. haha. What an idiot.

This guy is killing his own career one step at a time. Unreal.

    Aren't you a Lakers fan?

Anyway, I've been thinking about this Gil thing. First, to state the obvious, this isn't some horrible, evil thing. He didn't fight dogs, he didn't rape a girl in a hotel room in Colorado, he didn't send a pic of his junk to a ballgirl, he didn't bring guns into a locker room, etc. With that said, it's still monumentally stupid and disturbing. Why? Because it was dumb and, more importantly, totally unnecessary. Why do it? Could he really not have gone to Flip and just said, "Hey Coach, it's a preseason game, I'm feeling good about where my game is right now, I know Nick has been frustrated about his time on the court, do you mind if I sit this one out and you let Nick fill in for me?" What's wrong with doing that? Flip doesn't strike me as an *******, I doubt he would've said no. And then to tell the media about it? Goddamn...come on Gil. It just really shows a lack of maturity, a lack of judgement and a complete failure in decision making. Given Gil's past, it is a bit disturbing and disheartening.

  10. Yeah Booker was pretty invisible in the summer league. Which isn't a good sign from a 1st round pick. I think the draft strategy of the Wiz was to take the BAA. Best athlete available and hope they can mold him into a legitimate NBA basketball player. I think too that they envision Wall as an Isiah Thomas type of player and just surround him with tough, hard nosed bigs that will bamg with the other team. And Gil can be Joe Dumars.

If I have ever extras, I'll shot you a PM :).

That will be sweet man. I'm working six days a week but if I can find a way to get there, I'm there for sure.

  11. No doubt Vishal. It's gonna take time for them to really learn and understand how to win but they're gonna be exciting to watch. And the upside on the roster is thrilling. I mean with Ruffin, Etan and Co. it was like, well this is it. ****. How can we upgrade?

BTW, I'm jealous about your tickets. I gotta get a hookup somewhere.

The name change was another of Susan O'Malley's failed marketing disasters. The "violence" correlation was cover.

I haven't heard that theory before but I wouldn't doubt it. Which makes the name change go from a bad idea to an absolute disgusting disgrace.

  12. But I don't think having a team named the Bullets actually has anything to do with crime rates whatsoever. Though I'm sure some idiot journalist, if we were to revert back to the Bullets, would try to make some case about how the name somehow changed the crime rate in DC.

 Correlation and causation. Simple concepts that way too many people do not understand.

The name change had more to do with Yitzhak Rabin's assassination then crime rates. That was just an added "bonus" that Abe threw out there.

  13. Ted brought Yi to his first hockey game last night.

Amazingly, they seem to have found him a Caps jersey that was too big for him.

Lol at Ted taking Yi out on a date. Told you all he had a full blown mancrush on him.

Anyway, here's a petition WE put together to give to Ted about changing the name back to Bullets. Please sign it. Please pass it on to friends and family. Ted listens to the fans. We can make it happen.

  14. I got to say, when I started my "Name to Replace Wizards" thread, someone on here sent me a PM saying that he had an inside source that told him it's an absolute lock that Ted is going to change the name back to Bullets. He laid out how they were going to do it. And since then, things have gone down exactly as stated.

I hope he doesn't mind me posting this. Please take the credit though if you don't.

  15. He really impressed me last night. He was cleaning the glass, setting good looking screens, doing the little things.

And we basically got him for free. I know Ted has a full-blown mancrush on him for awhile. There was like a whole month there where literally every other Bullets-related post on his blog was about Yii and how excited he is about him. Dude is still young (allegedly) and he is crazy athletic. There is a picture on the internets where he looks like the basketball version Laron Landry. Just absolutely ripped. I'll track it down and post it when I get off tonight.

But yeah great pickup by Ernie. He fits right in with what we're doing; building the team around Wall and take advantage of his biggest strength, his speed. We might already be the most athletic team in the league.
