Any guesses on what Browns would get on a trade for Mayfield? I am thinking two firsts at a minimum
-
anyone have numbers on the Norwell deal?
-
Howard at 3.5mil for one year seems like a steal for the Bills. Would have been nice for washington to be in on that. 😒

For a one year deal? It might be worth the risk.
NO.. the guy will want to get paid and he can not stay on the field. Too many injuries over the years.

You guys are overthinking this.. Dan wants to have a fun boat party.. gas and strippers are expensive these days!
-
Will Fuller would be great signing for a 1-2y deal as a reclamation project, if you can get him at ~10mil per year. He is a solid #2 to Terry and an insurance for Samuels, plus you can still sign Terry to a 20mil/y contract.

So no restructures and no FA signings so far? Is Ron sleeping? I hope there is a plan rattling out there somewhere.....

If Washington loses McKissick, i hope they replace him with Darrel Williams, from Chiefs. Always liked him as a RB that can carry the load and catch

WHY ARE WE NOT LISTED AS INTERESTED IN WAGNER PLEASE.
because he is OLD.. and his coverage skills at this point are lacking. We need an MLB that can cover. Run stopping MLBs are a dime a dozen.. lets someone else overpay

I'm like 99% sure that the Colts are going to use our higher 2nd rounder on a QB that will be someone the Commies had interest in, probably Ridder or Strong. This QB will become successful there, and we'll all look back at this trade with hatred.
Hahahaha, its too Redskins to not happen.
yeah... because Colts have a history of hitting on QBs 🙄

This isn't Cheers.. i am not trying to be best buddies with the QB... i would rather have a legit NFL QB who's an asshole (Wentz) , than a super nice guy without the NFL level skills/ traits(Heineke) ,... just win baby!
...and lets hope Wentz learned something in his previous stints and understands that this is his last shot as a starting gig. maybe learn some leadership skills. (and yes, leadership skills can be learned)
also.. while no one mentioned this, the conspiracy theorist in me is thinking that Scary Terry might not sign an extension here if we don't get a legit QB to throw him the damn ball.

The more i think about it ... i am warming up to the scenario. Simply put there were no options this year that were better, out of what was left. 28m for a mid level starting QB in this league is not bad. Plus the guy has a cannon, that means higher potential to bring in FA WR if they chose. Two 3rds is cheap... and colts were never going to cut hit outright. Trubisky will probably get 15m+ so 28 for wentz will look like a deal.
Trubisky, mariota, Winston - major question marks
Jimmy G - many ???, inj prone, coming off surgery, will cost more in pics.

Commanders are definitely not drafting a QB early this year.... i see a WR or LB.

If this is how it shakes out then its not really a bad move imo. We needed to do something.
If they dont draft a guy though......woof
Wentz was tripping when eagles drafted Hurtz... how do you think he will react to a rookie QB drafted high this time around? I actually think this move means Wash will not draft a QB in the top 2 rounds this year.

well ... Ron just signed his own exit. A shell shocked has-been QB with no heart. Just what we needed. This franchise and its eval capabilities are a joke. I am sure Eagles are loving this.. they couldn't wait to get rid of him, now they get to destroy him twice a season.

I think there has been too much of this 'Nobody wants to come here because of owner, org, name, etc. ..That's mostly BS. Players just don't care that much about all the extra stuff. What they care about is money and winning.
Washington has no problems paying elite players.. so the only thing that's left is winning. Fact is that Stafford and Wilson picked teams that are loaded and ready to win now. That's not directly Washington's or Rivera's fault. No matter how much Rivera yells "we're a QB away!" these players are not dumb ... on field results speak for themselves.
1. While the D seems to have some pieces in place, it was atrocious for 2/3 of the 21 season.
2. There are weapons on O, but not enough and coming off major injuries.
Now how does the team get better at QB? simple...
1. Overpay significantly and truly make an offer that can not be refused.
2. Load the team with O talent to make it an attractive destination, so that next time an elite QB becomes available we are real option.
3. Get lucky with an FA or a draft pic
Since option 1 is off the table (unless Raiders come around) .. load up on option 2 and 3 and keep fingers crossed.

It's looking like Bridgewater and rook QB for us.... back to mediocrity 🥺

Looks like Giants might pass on Daniel Jones option... i highly doubt they would trade him in the division though but I'd love to see what he can do behind a good O line.

Sweat was also a first rounder, Chase Young was DROY, I don't call first rounders a bust after one year unless there was some sort of disaster with them, like them being cut or buried on the bottom of the bench
whether Young is a complete bust is still undetermined... but for a #2 overall pic he has definitely underperformed so far. Compare his stats to the Bosas who he was widely compared against. He was a Droy against a weak schedule and bunch of back up QBs by the way.
-
You guys are so worried about giving up three 1st round picks for an elite starter QB?? why??
Lets look at our draft history for the last three 1st rd picks..
21 - Jarmin Davis - looking like a bust for his draft value so far
20 - Chaise Young - average so far
19 - Haskins - bust
I would trade all three players for Rogers, Wilson .. hell even Carr in a second!

I'd trust that the coaching staff are more aware about Wentz and his locker room presence than us fans, but based on the recent reports I would have my doubts about bringing him in.
Wait... so the coach that drafted him and the only coach Wentz had success with is willing to get rid of him after one year?? if that's not a clue.. I dont know what is. Sounds more like Colts trying to drum up interest in Wents and a high draft pick. I hope Riviera is smart enough not to go after Wentz... He is broken.

I'd rather us go with Winston or Tribusky before trading for JG. Just me.
Got any recent articles to show this?
I am on board... reality is that top tier QBs will likely stay where they are. Neither of above options is exciting but I believe will garner similar results to Jimmy G without giving up picks and can be paired with a draft qb.
I also highly doubt Jimmy will only get a 3rd.. he is the only "proven" option of the 2nd tier of available QBs. Demand will push his perceived value up
-
My fear is that with the dearth of QBs this year, weak QB draft class and a lot of teams with QB needs.... Skins are dumb enough to overpay for Garoppolo to the tune of a 1st rd pick+

The better question is.. would you rather have Ryan for a lets say 2nd or Wentz for 2 thirds?
